You need to persuade yourself that you are hallucinating and that they are not really mince pies but brussels sprouts:eek:. Seriously well done on that weight loss though. Brilliant!

Paul McKenna did a tape on that once. You hypnotise yourself into thinking your favourite foods are disgusting and that is meant to pput you off eating them. All well and good but then you find other foods you like and when the hypnosis wears off you have twice as many favourite foods.

DS2 is eating meals at random times of day. I'm sure he is having 4 meals a day, but doesn't seem to put on weight. Apparently at uni he cam't be bothered cooking so when he comes home he wants lots of food. Current favourite is chilli con carne that he has not eaten since he was last home. So I am busy making a vat of it for him to prey on when necessary.

That's all I would want when my time comes, to be comfortable and gently drift out of life, with a loved one by my side. You have done all that anybody could expect/hope from you. I feel so sorry for you having to stand by whilst this slowly takes its course, though. I wish I could give you a real hug, not just a virtual one.

GDB said it better than I ever could. :o

I can understand not bothering while at Uni - somebody else's kitchen, not the right dishes/saucepans, etc. Other people getting in the way or mucking up your timing etc.

But now he's home you should just be offering him help to make food so that [a] he knows how to do it you're not his slave.

The difference when they come to visit is that it is nurturing and pleasurable to feed them. Hopefully they know how to feed themselves, you've taught them the basics, but you can enjoy the nurturing of feeding them, and maybe they reciprocate.....cooking for you each break but maybe not.

Oh, thank goodness! I usually say the wrong thing / put my foot in it. Those monkeys, typing away at random in my head, must have got it right for once.

That's way better than me, I've been relying on the sleep-deprived apes in my head typing wearing blindfolds and boxing gloves or else letting my terrier dance on the keyboard then cleaning my posts up with a spellchecker. ;)

Speaking of cartoonists my neighbour (when I were a lad) used to draw a cartoon strip in a kids comic about people who live in your head and drive your decision-making. Befoe most NPs time I reckon.

I'm also going to borrow your thoughts for Bugslet. I find it very hard to know how to say these things on here when NPs have troubles because I worry it many come over as glib or insincere, without the non-verbal IRL cues it is so hard. So thank you also to GDB for expressing what we all want to say to Bugs so well. :T
    I think....

Me too .... so I rely on any faux pas being "let off" as I've lived a lot of it recently and everybody knows I have room to fit both feet into my mouth without even blinking.

Having the Xmas tree's made me unpack my salt lamp..... which is now turned on and giving off a lovely, orangey glow :) Love that lamp, not used it/had it on since 2006.

I'd boxed it up carefully - it had been leeching salt as my last house was very damp, so there's some surface salts on it, I will eventually find out how to clean those areas that have discoloured.

I'd wrapped the lamp in a big sandwich bag and sealed it - and the plug separately and sealed it, then put it into a box.... it's heavy, very heavy. Stands about 10" tall.

    Happiness is returning :)

Wish I had some Xmas chocs now.... right now. Not tomorrow, not "in a bit if I go out"..... I mean right now.
