    Excited for you about the students.

    Thanks Alchemilla

    The thing is, I'm kind of looking forward to it too for several reasons:
    1) I miss having my lads to look after (they've all flown the nest)!
    2) It doesn't actually get much easier than doing it through this language school ... their pick up / drop off point is at the top of our road (about 10 mins) and the premises they're using for school each day is our local colleges (approx 3 mins down the road) so no expensive taxis and bus fares to shuffle them about!
    3) It means I can reduce my SE hours slightly and step back from some of the more irritating (and slow paying clients) for a little while, ie: step away from the computer a bit more and spend time just doing garden and house stuff, like growing and cooking a bit, but still be getting something for it!
    4) In line with (3) I can take a couple of weeks "off" once Mr. Hbbb breaks up in July and not feel guilty as I'll still be earning but in a different way!

    Hope your weekend's going OK ... soon be on your countdown x

    Hope everyone's OK. Early update today as off out in a bit with Mr. Hbbb and his eldest for dinner (she has to go back to Leeds tomorrow so dinner out tonight instead of FD tomorrow)!

    ;)MFW actions:
    * Investigated home insurance as renewal notice came through. Have organised alternative via Qu*dco ... £60 cashback, £200 less per year, approx £15 less per month! Very happy with that!
    * NSD for me (we are being treated this eve)!

    SMASH day 14 / 100 = total £250 / 3,000 ... I know, just don't start me off!

    :(Grey Clouds:
    Nope, am being a blue skies thinker today ...!

    :)Silver linings:
    Time out in the garden with my to do list:
    Today's list:
    * no work ... achieved!
    * try to catch up with mum ... she's busy today!
    * plant lettuce seeds and organise newly emptied half raised bed - done, more lettuce and beetroot seeds sown, peas replanted, curly Kale for winter now in raised bed instead of the garlic.
    make student prep list ... half done, will finish off with a cuppa shortly!

    :pDaily Delutter:
    Six bags of hardcore, rubble and garden grot to tip (Mr. Hbbb actually did the work but I was a big cheerleader for him)! Total 186 / 365.

    :DSimple pleasures:
    * Garden time
    * Plotting, planning and making lists
    * Seeing Mr. Hbbb happy with his girls (he's still coping with the whole nest flying thing, love him)
    * Speaking of which, another set of sparrows which we weren't sure had settled into the middle nest box and now very obviously present and lots of little chirps from their box too! :T

    So anyway, which one of you has the sunshine? Am sitting in a fleece and jeans here!

    Strange how if you don't think you need to get up, you'll sleep through anything ... it was the indignant farmyard sounds from the bottom of the garden which did wake me (windows wide open through night) and not the extremely loud farmyard sounds from beside me! x

    Oh I can so agree with this - in the holidays I can sleep through Mr gt's alarm quite happily but if he has an early start during term time then it disturbs me because I'm expecting an alarm anyway (I don't use an alarm for me in the holidays unless we have plans needing one - DS3 is usually in to make me get up by 7/7.30 anyway - 8 at the latest, so no real need!)

    In terms of renting a room, I've just gone through a 3 week search for a Monday to Friday room in Hemel Hempstead, and I was put off if the people renting the room were a couple. (I was also put off by dirt, a young demographic, and people who were plain odd) but I came across a website called airBnB which is interesting. Have a look.

    Thanks A*M ... it was with Mr.Hbbb's eldest (we have a whole Brady bunch thing going on and all his three have been here this weekend but at different times so he's having a meal with each of them ~ yesterday, today and tomorrow!
    Last night's meal was the treat one though and was very lovely ... however, the old MSE thing has got to all of us it seems because when I declined a more expensive dessert (£4.50 each) in favour of a rum and raisin cornet from the shop along the road (£1.50) everyone else agreed with me, so we paid up at the restaurant and walked along the prom with our cornets (which worked out at 3 for the price of 1 compared to the dessert prices) and watched the free sun set!

    Hi GreenT ... yes, the subliminal power of the alarm is, well quite alarming I guess! Ah and the joys of little people, I remember it well although nowadays my alarm calls are from the furred and feathered variety!

    Thanks Prophet ... that's interesting as we haven't investigated the whole Monday to Friday option, we've gone with the language schools because really the only effort is feeding them and giving them a bed, they're out on activities all day and each evening.

    I've made a note of the site though and will investigate once the student season comes to a close.

    Hope you have luck finding a Monday to Friday place, the search must be frustrating!
