Oops, I meant your roll on & not spray :o

I was thinking something like Piriton or antihistamine tablets that are normally used for hayfever, as they work for itching symptoms as well. Hopefully the floaty skirt will do the trick today.

Ahh, I'm with you P*P, trouble is, as. Janey also says, it's the drowsiness that's the problem ... I already have trouble of the dopey kind due to the seizure meds at night time, so I daren't take anything else which will make me drowsy. Good idea though and kind of you to take the trouble to remind me ... I could always take them at bedtime I guess and being under duvet makes them warm and itchy.

    Hi Hbbb

I was given massive, old-style, knock-you-out-completely antihistimine tablets by the Dr last year when I was *attacked* by more than 5 horse flies in a matter of minutes. Boy are those bites ugly! The tablets really helped but I was barely able to keep my eyes open which wasn't too convenient!

Yup, this would be me! Last time I had a pre-med I was out like a light, they could've done what they liked with me and I'd have been none the wiser ... and they couldn't bring me round from a "light" anaesthetic for two days! Some of these drowsy meds just seem extra potent don't they? Did you have much scarring from the bites Janey?

I know its a bit late now you've been bitten to bits but Mr Watty - who also suffers from bites badly - swears by a few drops of eucalaptus (?SP) oil in water sprayed around the bed (we use a plantmister) and sprayed on his arms and legs whilst outside. I read the tip once when we were staying somewhere with a lot of mosquitos and their like and it worked so he has stuck with using it.
Might be worth a try - its cheap after all :)

Oooh this one sounds like a goer Watty! My son gave me a lavender linen spray at Christmas that I've nearly finished, I could decant eucalyptus solution into that and wear it as a perfume if necessary!

I got them all sitting on the bench near pond, so we've investigated and found quite a lot of mozzie larvae in pond and water butts so Mr. Hbbb is taking butt action too, as it were, to try to prevent a long itchy summer!

Will put eucalyptus oil on my shopping list ... think I may also have some of those little incense cones somewhere, I got some free trial ones and I'm sure one of the scents is that. Thanks for the tip Watty x

No scarring fortunately but I did avoid breaking the skin on them - not sure how! That's funny what you've said about being drowsy - I had keyhole surgery a couple of years ago and when I came round from the anesthetic I just could not stay awake. I was in way longer than everyone else, I even fell asleep when people were talking to me :o When I did manage to stay awake I started being sick ...

Busy old day, feel like I've been head down and at it for hours but not achieved half of what I wanted to!

    ;) MFW actions:

Mr. T shopping delivery so can't claim a no spend day, but happy to have spent £63 and meal planned to end of month so shouldn't have to get owt else in except milk and bread as required. This includes extra food planning for students arriving 25th.

Emailed bank to ask about when interest rate goes down as almost at 50% LTV which should trigger reduction in rate. Thought I should chase them as they don't seem to be going out of their way to let me know!

I've put tumble drier onto local Friday Ad online adverts too, to reach wider local audience (free ad) so all MSE!

    SMASH day 11 / 100 = total £250 / £ 1,000

    :( Grey clouds:

Nationwidthways have still not sent through account book and info so I can get emergency fund up and running with them. Will phone them at end of week and see, and maybe investigate other accounts. As long as it pays a bit of interest, it would be useful. Any recommendations for a simple savings account, with a little interest and online banking out there?

    :)Silver lining:

Spreadsheet all up to date, as well as food spend which should last the rest of the month, I have £60 cash. If I don't use this I'll carry it forward to next month and put everything else into mortgage.

    :p. Daily declutter:

Four wooden boxes from inside cupboard of small bedroom are now decluttered of their board games, which are now stacked in cupboard in students room. Wooden boxes are now redeployed as folder / work in progress cubbies in work, plus three cardboard boxes emptied and left the house via recycling, so 178 / 365!

    :D Simple pleasures:

    * Taking 5 min back-break from computer ... I laid on my back on rug to stretch achy old back out. Within 10 secs big black dog is laying next to me with tummy at my hand, ready for tummy tickles as I clearly had nothing better to do. In comes small, skinny, scruffy one who stood over me so it could stroke his chest with other hand and whisper sweet nothings to him. My me-time moment became a multi-tasking us time moment!
    * The sunshine's bringing on the strawbs ... so I also got plenty of sugar with my shopping order as there may be quite a bit of jam coming soon! :o bit worried I accidentally decluttered my jam jar stash though, may have to ask on freecycle if I can't find enough!
    * Garlic was harvested tonight ... looking pretty good too, will update blog pics over next few days! Can't wait to taste some! Also means I have a free half raised bed to think about, so check through of seed stash has also been added to Saturday's list!

    Hope everyone's good x

    Well, A*M, thanks for sharing!
To be honest this workout sounds very similar to the workout I did after a very dodgy takeaway prawn curry a few years back ... and, at the risk of TMI, it was more than burpees happening on the minute, and the lunges I had to do ... well I couldn't have "weighted" :rotfl: Not sure I got the fun factor out of it, must have been going at it all wrong! x

And so to today! It was lovely and sunny and the garden was full of birdsong, but was chained to computer for most of it. But the flip side is uni report of 30,000 words is just resting overnight before final read through and submission tomorrow ... I will be so glad to see the back of it, I can tell you, although the project is interesting, the writing up is

    ;) MFW action:

NSD, no news yet from bank re mortgage rate reduction. More of the "stuck" client money has started to filter through so hoping to make another MOP tomorrow.

    SMASH day 12 / 100 = £ 250 / £ 3,000.

    :(Grey Clouds:

    Just tired that's all.

    :)Silver Lining:

Very organic and MSE dinner ... Lettuce and broad bean salad (all from garden), new pots and free range omelet (from garden girls) min spend and healthy stuff :T

    :p Daily declutter:

Nope too busy at computer but will refocus on this next week as I need to clear cupboards in students room.

    :DSimple pleasures:

    * Fetching our dinner from up the garden.
    * Bites have stopped itching.
    * Resisting the draw of a sales email from my fave yarn shop ... just deleted it without looking ...!

Hope everyone is OK and enjoying the fact that it's Friday tomorrow!

Morning, Hbbb. Yes, I forone am enjoying the fact that it is Friday. Hope Mr Hbbb reaches the weekend with energy to enjoy it.

It's good news that the bites are diminishing in itchiness. I scratch myself til I bleed with bites, so am mega impressed with you :T.

30,000 is an awful lot of words - let's hope they actually pay you for them...!

Do try to get outside today, m'dear, even if it's just with a cuppa.
