Hi too L*J ... I've been admiring your signature for some time! Hoping to get me one of those!

Tis indeed a lovely offer ... just need to work out the logisitics to see if it's doable ("work out the logistics" is code for wangle everything to ensure it's doable)! :T

Some time in Spain sounds like a good idea - if you get on with her, why not go for it, it's a great opportunity :)

Lovely re Spain ... go for the sun and the fun :)
    Start an extra pot :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thanks G*G and Watty ... and everyoe else for your kind contributions! It certainly seems that if this was an official thread poll, the answer would be "yes!"

Will see her next week so I'm sure it will come up again but in between I've started a £1 coin pot and a list ...

Well what a day that was ... finally just finished work and just sat down for an eggy bap supper as I really can't be faffed to sort anything else and no-one else is here to be fed or question my culinary inclinations!

    ;)MFW actions:

    * Bank have come back to me to confirm that current facility to value is at 53%. This is because they're working on what we could still owe them (a facility of up to £112,500) as opposed to what we do actually owe them (just over £106 k).
So, all I have to do is ring them and reduce borrowing facility to £106k, which I will do at the end of the month when hopefully (everything crossed here) uni money comes through and I'll have the mortgage down well below £106k. If I do this quickly at end of month hopefully the new, reduced mortgage rate will kick in before they work out July's interest on the 17th July!
So, starting to have even higher hopes of the whole SMASH malarkey even though there's little in the way of SMASH cash at the moment!

    SMASH day 18 / 100 = total £250 / £ 3,000.

    * Did have minor extra cash boost today as tumble drier is now sold :T However, I'm not going to MOP the cash at the moment, I'm putting it into student purse as I have a few spends to make before they arrive (key cut, extra groceries etc) so this will be student float money until the first payment (a week after they get here). Am going to tally all spends so I know exactly how viable the whole escapade is!

    :(Grey cloud:
A screw fell out of lovely new posture chair today. Need to turn it upside down and sort it before using it tomorrow. Feel worried that this might mean either:
    - Happy need-not-want spontaneous bargain purchase has turned sour.
    - Weight is more of an issue than I thought (and believe me I'm not eating much, eggy bap, morning muesli and a handful of sunflower seeds during my 10 minute lunchbreak surfing on here).
Either possibility does not bring joy to my heart.

    :)Silver Lining:
Anyhoo though, I feel ridiculously happy about being so close to getting that lower interest rate ... if we hadn't been on this whole MFW thing we'd still be with the bank's allocated facility of £117,500 and miles away from the reduced interest. Funny how they don't let you know that you can chip away to swing the balance in your favour, you just have to strike out and do it!

    :pDaily declutter:
The tumble drier has left the building! Total = 190 / 365.
Will target student room tomorrow in between delightful client assignments.

    :DSimple pleasures:
    * Baby sparrow.
    * Washing dry on line for first time this week (including weekend).
    * Stooopid chickens just make me laugh (although I worry they say the same thing about me - I did get my head slightly stuck in the pop hole today :o)
    * House to myself for the evening - may get on with knitting or have lovely peaceful bath - choices!

So, regardless of all that another hump day is over! Hope you're all OK, hugs if you're not! x
