Put a little paint/tippex/nailpolish on the thread of the screw when you replace it-it will help prevent it vibrating loose.

Thanks Alchemilla, will try that later ... thanks too for the implication that it's the trundling vibration responsible for loose screw and not shock of my weight or such! x

  • Morning, brilliant news re mortgage.

A friend of mine had one of those chairs/seats and he loved it. It took him a while to get used to it but after that he never looked back :)

Hi Tilly, yes it's given me that little boost to really get it down at the end of the month and lessen the interest to empower the MOPs even more!

I'm just as achy with the chair at the moment, but as you say about your friend, it's probably the getting used to it phase!

I shall have to try and get fitter, that might help too ... you're a great inspiration for that! x

    Hope you're all fine!

Funny one, busy one today, glad to see the back of it if I'm honest, but at least this week seems to have flown by!

    ;)MFW actions:

Quiet day on that front, just a NSD and continued prep for students and things which will pay off eventually but not immediately. Updated Mr. Hbbb about the mortgage and how close we are to getting the mortgage interest reduced (he was amazed at the impact of what we've done so far compared to where the bank would have us be - about 18 months away front the interest reduction, in fact - so he's well on board with keeping things frugal for the time being now that we are so close to being half way there!

Account shuffle today in time for a mini MOP tomorrow.

Language school phoned to check we're ok for pick up next week. Have to say I'm impressed with their level of communication!

    SMASH day 19 /100 = total £ 250 / £ 3,000

    :( Grey clouds:

Strange and upsetting incident this morning meant I was late getting started on work, so have lots to do to round off the week tomorrow. Prefer to be more upbeat and much better prepared than I'm actually feeling at the moment!

    :)Silver Lining:
It's all to the greater good!

    :pDaily declutter:
Upcycled a homeless rail from garage into a smart extra rail inside fitted wardrobe in students' room, so they'll have plenty of room in there, so it's 191 / 365 at the moment.
Will aim to declutter chest of drawers in there tomorrow / Sat as I think DSDs have some bits and bobs in there.

    :DSimple pleasures:
    * seeing nature at its best - baby sparrows have been peering out of nest box all day but big jay and crow came down to menace and prey on the babies. Whole colony of sparrows and three male blackbirds all joined together to chase them off, it was amazingly impressive ... I guess the blackbirds also have young of their own to protect,
Afterwards, one of the male sparrows took up sentry duty in the honeysuckle by back door (close to nest box but unable to be seen by a bird overhead) so he was ready to protect, like a ninja or such, literally on a straight line with hole in nest box. His urge to protect was so strong he was completely unfazed by me at the backdoor and I was as close to him as you are to your screen now as you read this, most likely, amazing.
I made sure the dogs were up the garden to help out too and lairy pair were making noise but I think it was all "well I never ..." kind of stuff, as opposed to "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough ..." or some such.
    * Home made lentil soup for tea, didn't really fancy it but it was preferable to more lettuce! :rotfl: h/m strawbs for pudding!

Hope everyone's week has been ok ... nearly the weekend! x

    Nope :p

However, I've lost count of how many times I've whacked my head after forgetting to duck when leaving the walk-in run
