Habibiboo, I think it was you posting on someone's diary about quotes:

I've managed about 3+ years ignoring decorating! By the time I feel the urge, it's winter and we all know the paint won't dry in winter, will it...?!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Here is a similar one in our garden :-)

Hi Unhappy Shopper, lovely to "meet" you ... Ta for stopping by! Ahh yes the roses, we do like them in the garden, not in a formal parks and gardens kind of way, but definitely as a splash of vitality, beauty and fragrance about the place!
Yours is lovely, gorgeous colour ... does it smell as lovely as it looks? Our rose arch has come out with its white blooms, the mauve ones seem a little late this year, but hopefully there will be a photo of it in all it's glory next week! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Good news on the students. I did this for a couple of years when I was single - tho I wasn't canny enough with money at that point, d'oh! Would happily do it now but dh refuses point blank!
Hope your day runs smoothly.
Hi A*M ... I'm thinking that MWC can probably vouch for why I have so many hours in the day ... it's because the chooks get up at silly o'clock on these light mornings!
Now then, I know for a fact that Mr. Hbbb has another superhero outfit preference as he once came home early and found me accidentally dressed as a cat lady (long story to do with being cold but not a***d to go upstairs and redress, I just layered up with what I could find downstairs, regardless of pattern, colour combo)
I'd just topped off my "look" with a pink and white crochet poncho when he came home. His words were: "if you're going to greet me dressed as a cat lady, can you at least make it Cat Woman?"
Today's running smoothly but still doesn't seem to have been enough hours in it! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hi Ed ... You're probably caught in the weather trap ... When it's sunny it's too lovely to be stuck indoors decorating and when it's rainy and miserable, you don't want to open the windows and the paint takes forever to dry!
I just have a Magnus Magnusson approach to it: "I've started so I'll finish!" Having the impetus to get it finished for the student bedroom shuffle and some extra cash is also a bit of a motivation, I have to say!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Busy day, lovely to come here, late as it is and find so many visitors, thank you all for stopping by!MFW actions:
NSD; hatching a small plan based on something Apple Muncher mentioned on her thread (your magic 100 days is catching A*M) ... it's just dependent on two things: hearing from language school to find out if we will be having students in June (definitely down for July and August) and a gentle chat with Mr. Hbbb, then I'll define my mini-mortgage goal for the summer!Grey Clouds:
Had to hunt out a knee support today due to all the skirting painting!
Forgot to put pedometer on to find out how many steps are involved in this decorating malarkey!Silver lining:
Up with the lark this morning (well lairy pair of hens at least) so lots done - top coat to cupboard and inside of door, 2nd coat to skirtings, laundry on, showered and at desk by 10.00. Work till 3 then played hooky as sun came out which gave great light into little room so I went and cracked on with the wallpapering. Just finished it so getting well ahead in the scheme of things there!Daily declutter:
2 charity bags finally picked up; Mr. Hbbb did tip run, counting each as 1 so total now at 167 / 365.Simple pleasures:
* Sitting on garden bench at 5.30 this morning, just enjoying the light, the birdsong and the moment!
* Rose arch is starting to bloom .... will share photos!Simple behaviour:
SD is with us so last night I thought I'd put some chick peas out to soak for curry today (she's veggie like me), forgot what I was doing and put what I thought was about right amount in bowl, added water to soak overnight!
This morning it was like chickpea invasion of the planet, totally miscalculated and there they all were, puffed up and ready to feed several families for several days ... I must have put a whole pack in (I store them in jars, decanted from their packs). So, work time was spent boiling copious amounts of chickpeas and we now have several stashes of cooked chick peas in freezer, which I guess will save time another day!
Don't know what I was thinking!
Hope everyone is fine and has had some of this better weather today! x

Morning, chook lesson required - if they wake at 0440 do you get up and feed them to quieten them? Or do they settle themselves down?
Apologies for a probably stupid question but I have no idea.
