I like your arch, it looks like a book cover. The type of books I like always have an open door way, gate or arch to entice you in!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks Tilly, we do work hard (but frugally) to keep it looking nice!
What you can't see though is the messier productive end of the garden and of course the hen's end of things, I shrewdly had my back to all that for the photo!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Dd asked for roses in our garden, so I pointed her to the three rose bushes in the front! Butno, not good enough - she wants roses in the back. At least she's agreed we can wait until we replace the fences...
:wave:
You're right A*M, well spotted! We started off with one archway (£Stretcher type cheapie) but the roses quickly overgrew that so there's a second one with a gap (and some very MSE string guides) between the two, which will eventually create a tunnel type effect ... probably another year of growth and it'll be about there (then time to save up for another archway to extend it if Mr. Hbbb has his way)!
Sounds like DD is having a princess moment, wanting to surround her castle with roses, bless her ...!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

That's interesting, GG because I usually spend more time looking at it from the other end (from the kitchen window) so it's quite different seeing it from looking towards the house ... certainly adds to the effect of going inwards rather than outwards!
I like the book cover idea! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thank you, GreenT ... it's not something I ever take for granted, we're very lucky to have it (and even luckier to have found a flat garden around here)! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I love the archway too! Beautiful .Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

Well, the sun came out eventually!
What I did:
* Final coat of floor paint to little bedroom.
* Deep clean of rug to go into little bedroom (reassigned from where it was being stored in garage). Has been swept, hoovered, brushed with hard dog-hair removal brush, hoovered again. Spray washed, now on line, will steam clean tomorrow then place in situ!
* Hour of home admin
* Hour redesigning spreadsheet for upcoming mortgage focus (will elaborate later or tomorrow, it's a whole post on its own) ... yes, this one was happy hour
* Long walk with Mr. Hbbb and dogs.
What I didn't:
* Work!MFW action:
* Final NSD of May - total of 22 / 31 which I'm pretty happy with!
* Switch paperwork for gas /electric checked.
* Contracts for students received today, signed and posted by return post.
* Monthly budget meeting with Mr. Hbbb ... new feature but hopefully now going to be regular for last Saturday of each month. Discussed all manner of money and mortgage related planning ... have agreed the summer plan between us (update to follow)!Grey clouds: Nah not doing those today!
Silver lining:
* Little room is finished (apart from Mr. Hbbb's tiny jobs to do ... sealant round window, curtain rail back up etc). What's more, all under budget of £60 as set by recent Ebay sales (funded the makeover) ... about £8 left so going to buy some nice hooks for the back of the door and side of the cupboard!Daily declutter:
Old hearth rug successfully resuscitated from garage and now on its way to a new life in small bedroom. Total 169 / 365.Simple pleasures:
* Making two small (well, not so small really) critters very happy by taking them on their favourite walk.
* Knowing we are taking our own little steps towards being MF and that we're united in that. I just don't take any of that for granted, really.
* Having a laugh with your man ... even if he is very rude about you!
Hope everyone has had a good day!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
