No DH here, but DS occasionally hangs stuff up for me, and his style is innovative too
... Hmmm, I don't want to be accused of making a sexist comment, equal opps and all that (spot the person working in education for 20+ years there...!) but is there *hushed tones* the slightest chance of innovative pegging signifying a gender difference? Not that there's owt wrong with difference of course, but there's clearly a mounting body of evidence here! :rotfl:Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Firstly, :rotfl: on the innovative pegging style, garlic drama and jabs for babies. There's never a dull moment in Hbbb Land!
Hoping for a quiet day today P*M but you never know...!
So glad to hear the yarn bomb meeting went well, and what an exciting thing to be a part of! I love yarn bombing(And it's yet another reason why I'm changing work things, so I actually have some energy to go out and be part of all these fun things!).
I know what you mean P*M, I think the big difference for me this time is that I am forcing myself to make time for this, as if I wait till I've got time to do fun and arty things, I'll never do them (I've been telling myself I'll take an art evening class for the last two years)!
I'm getting better at managing the peaks and troughs of my energy / health issues and coming out of the classroom has made such a difference to that ... you're so right to consider the change of work context as having a wider impact on everything. Of course it does on the financial end too, but some things (especially the health) are more valuable in the long run and, sometimes, the universe picks up the positive vibe of what you're aiming for and helps out a bit!
Loved reading all your April goals, there's no better feeling than striking things off a list
Need to update really, perhaps later on.
Yikes! Why are my scales not this nice/elusive with me? They only ever added 7lbs when I took them out of the box and haven't been too fussed about reducing the number since. Obviously must have some sort of mechanical failure.
Will go with mechanical rather than physical then, thanks P*M
Sorry to hear that Mr Hbbb might have some ongoing health complaints, it's a wonder what a bit of a change of lifestyle can do to help when illness comes knocking though (as we both know!), I hope things settle down for him soon. You've done so well in just a few months with grabbing hold of the reins which makes all the difference.
Thanks P*M, I think coupled with his birthday this month too and issues at work which are growing every day, he's really feeling his vulnerability. We've really upped the ante with the frugality and trying to make the MOPs and is taking more interest in my spreadsheets (sounds like the world's dodgiest euphemism)
:rotfl: I often think the same! But seriously, what a lovely simple pleasure. :smileyhea
Simple is as simple does, I guess!
AwwWe're nesters over here too. :smileyhea Almost literally, now I come to think of it. Talking of the which...
Re: birds of prey in unusual places - we have peregrine falcons nearby (right in the centre of the city), one took a pigeon out right in front of our previous 4th floor flat window, all I saw was a puff of feathers. Last year the baby ones managed to slaughter several pigeons and leave them strewn half-munched all around, it was pretty gruesome(!). Hope the chickadees are feeling a bit more settled now.
Madness when you see an unexpected bird out of place or context, but I guess with less green spaces it makes sense that they're coming into towns!
PS. Ooh, M&S corner shop! Lucky you, ours is Tesko, and then we're sandwiched by two other big Teskos. To be fair, it's probably better this than the days when I lived right by Waitflower, as I did gain a lot of weight then (reduced desserts ). I did get paid 50p to take home two boxes of mince pies once though, oh those were the days.
Many thanks for the catch-up P*M - I think it's just as well we don't even have a Waitflower in our town, it would cause Mr. Hbbb a real personality conflict ... WF and L*dl are his two favourite shops ... the Jekyll and Hyde of grocery budgeting!
We rarely use M&S but it's a useful landmark for directions to our house :rotfl:
Impressed with your multi-tabbing IT skills here P*M, how do you do this multiple quoting from different posts, if you don't mind me asking ... The I can come over and catch up with your thread in this lovely coherent way instead off adding several different rambles in response to separate posts?
Hope you have a happy Sunday! XStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I would forgive the innovative pegging style. Asked Mr Watty to hang out washing and he happily agreed. Came home to find all the ironing hung out and the wet washing on worktop. He (a) did not notice the wet washing and (b) did not notice everything he was hanging out was very dry. And there was A LOT of it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Bless him. At least the ironing had a blow outside again to refresh it after its long wait for some attention.:)
:rotfl:
Sounds like you could start a side line in cartoon-strips there Watty, if Mr. Watty is going to provide such comedy gold ...!.Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

A couple of years ago, a bird of prey, (not sure what it was), landed in our garden, with a dove in it's beak.
It then proceeded to tear to dove apart and eat it - the only thing left was a pile of feathers.
It was horrifying but compelling to watch - the way the bird of prey when about it's task was very efficient.
It only happened the once, which I'm pleased about, but it was an amazing thing to see on the back lawn.
I know what you mean about compelling. Goldie, like the grosser parts of nature documentaries, but more so when it's so unexpectedly in your own backyard!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I love that!!!
Clearly it seems that - in general - the menfolk have a lot to learn about washing!!! My DH doesn't know how to use the WM (when I went away for a week last year our then just-4year old had to show him how to turn it on....!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:) And as for hanging it out... he makes the teens do it - and they have *innovative* pegging styles too.... He can iron, though - although I suspect that he won't be doing very much of this at all now
And there we have it folks, the conclusion to our experiment in gender issues relating to innovative pegging!
And thank goodness for savvy 4 year olds ... perhaps we should be looking to that generation to break the mould ... the future's in your hands there GreenT (no pressure or owt, although that said, is this a DS or DD?)Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I informed everyone I know when the male returned and was giving Mr. Hbbb daily updates that she had started feathering up the old nest, seemed like she was getting ready! Ta for the heads up that the eggs have arrived ... work will be slightly delayed whilst I pop over to check in on them! :T
