No A*M it's decorating local places & landmarks etc with knitted items, eg knitted squirrels on park benches etc.
Like putting an outfit on an Antony Gormley statue to keep him warm in winter:

Or if you look up yarn bombing on Pinterest or Google images you'll be there for some time! Part of the fun is that you set it all up at night / in secret for people to discover in passing (a la Banksy)!
It's great because my son sees quite a bit in London and set me a challenge of doing a yarn bomb in the local area!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Mixed day, bright but windy (a bit like moi, really)
What I did:
* 8.5 hours work
* Visit from son and his girlfriend, so nice to take an afternoon break up garden with them for a bit - everyone else was in T shirts and sunglasses but I was wrapped in my vest, dress and cardi pulled tight around me!
What I didn't:
* Pick up my knitting which is a real aim for this week - I have so much to do and must make time for it!MFW action: had to spend as dog food needed although this did come out of appropriate pot. Overall though I'm on day 3 / 10 of fiscal fast as my current account switch is underway so I don't want to complicate things by using the debit card, so I'm just ignoring the account until the switch is over (16th) which should save me a little.
Grey Clouds: Two of my lettuces have disappeared - no sign of slugs, just gone!
Silver lining: Asparagus is responding to the sunshine and roaring through a treat though! Mr Hbbb bought some for a risotto and was moaning (a) about the cost (even though it was what he'd fancied) and (b) about the fact it was all the way from Mexico! Still a couple of years and our two for £3 plants should be keeping us in plenty!
Daily Declutter: Started another charity bag, 5 items so far, will keep going until the end of the week then tally up and pass on.
Simple Pleasures:
* Sunshine
* Taking breaks more regularly whilst Mr. Hbbb is off
* Filling up sealed pot (haven't found number 2 yet though!)
Hope everyone has a good evening! I'm now winding down but tomorrow night I will be sorting out my stash and knitting darn it!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

'Bright but windy', eh? Have you been trying for those 60 burpees?
Boo to the lettuce thief!
And yay to knitting today! Wool was only 75p a ball in one charity shop yesterday and when I asked dd if I should get some, she just laughed at me and said 'no'. That's me told!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Yarp, burpee record-breaking attempt! Curses to the new medication!
Sounds like DD is not going to be a stashbuilder of the future (this is probably a good thing)! But 75p a ball! A few more lessons in bargain-finding needed for her I think!
Hope you're having a good time with GMa!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Dd was quite right to laugh at me, as I do have lots of wool - had to get a bigger box for the double knitting balls!
She is a stashbuilder - of books, teddies, dolls, 'stuff'. But she wants to learn to knit, so we'll keep trying.
Had a lovely time with gma, thanks, tho we were ready to come home today. Short and sweet and wanting to go back again is the best way for a visit to end! Tomorrow may well end up as a jama day, the poor mite is so tired out. And daddy is home from Paris by teatime (I'd thought it was lunch) so we can have a quiet day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Busy, but productive day ... bally freezing though despite the sun!
What I did:
* Attended GP's for my jab. Had great fun with nurse as she had to read out all of the possible side effects, which relate to the fact the jab should be for babies - crying, irritability, drowsiness!
* Lots of work (just finished) in the hope of taking half day with Mr. Hbbb tomorrow as he clearly wants to do holiday stuff together and is having a bit of trouble with the idea that if I'm not at my desk then I'm not earning my crust!
What I didn't:
* Not sure what I didn't do ... worried I'm getting caught up in a double negative spiral here!MFW actions: NSD; frugal fast going OK; had quick look for easy to manage savings account to start emergency fund in. Any recommendations out there? I want easy access for emergency purposes, obviously
Grey clouds:
Part I: This is a weird one because it was pretty gruesome, but also a bit special! Took short break up garden with Mr. Hbbb at lunchtime, seated on bench we were when a sparrowhawk came from nowhere and snatched a sparrow out of next door's cherry tree! Now this makes it sound like we live in the country, but in fact we live so much in the centre of town that M & S is our corner shop (seriously)!! So very unexpected
Part II: Hens are spooked too and are refusing to go into their coop / nesting box tonight We've secured them in their run (which leads to the coop) so nothing can get to them but I suspect something must have visited the coop which is why they won't go in. Just cleaned it again (in the dark) to see if this helps but Mr. Hbbb just checked again ... two are perching on their branch in the run, the other (Alice, off-lay one) is staying on the floor of the run. This is very odd behaviour for them ... especially Alice who hasn't got the hang of BST yet and still tries to go to bed in coop by 4pm most days! Any ideas MWC?Silver lining: Have telephone / Face Time interview tomorrow tea-time for extra freelance work delivering access arrangements at local driving test centre (for theory test candidates)! At least one afternoon's work at end of month (£50 for 3 1/2 hours) and prospect of more if successful.
Daily declutter: Another 2 items into charity bag = 7 to add to main total at weekend.
Simple pleasures:
* The thought of playing hookey with Mr. Hbbb tomorrow. I made lots of suggestions about things we might want to do but he's asserted himself! He wants to ....
.... go to a garden centre he hasn't visited before! :rotfl:
* My pair of robins made an appearance at back door during tea time. Mightily relieved by this as was secretly worried that sparrowhawk's eyes may not have been too good and that robin may have been victim. Obviously sorry for the sparrow, but at least my robins are safe.
Hope everyone's OK.Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

No, sorry
Are you going to put them in yourself or leave them to it?

Have tried putting them in but, they're not having any of it and I don't want to stress them further. Just checked them again, they are fully secure, there is definitely nothing inside there with them that can harm them, two are roosting high so not really worried about them (they are very feisty, hence why I'm going with their decision not to be helped into the coop). It's Alice I'm worried about.
We sleep at back of the house so I've opened the window wide so I can hear if there's a problem (not that I heard Mr Hbbb's bathroom problem, mind) but the theory goes that they have a distinctive alarm call that the dogs always respond to, so if the girls shout, the dogs will respond and we should wake!
Just don't know what else to do
Won't be expecting any eggs for a few days I shouldn't think either, poor girls.
Thanks though MWC xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
