Dogs responded to the alarm twice in the night, 3 am and about 4.20. No critters to be seen but May has a bloody beak this morning. So glad we made them go into the run at least so we could secure them (they didn't even want to do that last night and literally had to be placed inside - Alice was trying to make a burrow instead of going in there!)
We have a plan of action for tonight that we will, gently but firmly, make sure they are in the coop!
Mr Hbbb sulking x 2 (1) No eggs so far today (2) overnight hen rescue plan complete success, overnight hubby rescue plan .... we all just snored on
Thanks for asking MWC xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Yarp, looking forward to seeing what's involved, although I know it's a fishing theme (fleet, not riverside). Will catch up with a good yarn about it once I know more :rotfl:Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hello
Just reading about the naughty chickens! Mine do it occassionally. Have never worked out why (are they too hot in there, too dirty, something in there etc etc!??) I have concluded they are stupid and leave them out when they don't go to bed!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

Thanks for stopping by LauraJo, you're right they can be a bit cheeky and dim sometimes, but this time they were definitely acting strange rather than silly. Even when the bigger two were up on the perch in the run they were doing all the head and neck thing of being on predator-alert (even though it ws practically dark by then)!
Still, they seem to have settled a bit now!
Impressed with your signature ... Just a little way to go now, many congratulations! :TStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thanks GreenT! We're muddling along Ok, thanks, just very tired today so thank goodness it's the weekend!
Chooks seem a little more settled but one refused to roost in the coop last night. She was very placid about me picking her up and putting her in there though, so we did get a better night!
Hope all's good with you, will try to pop over and catch up on your thread this weekend! XStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Well I'd didn't successfully get back here last night so a quick round up for yesterday:
What I did:
* Work
* Took time off pm to spend a few hours with Mr. Hbbb - had a nice time planning front garden over lunch then went to the new nursery he wanted to try. It's a little bit out of town but very good, the plants are excellent. So a few little purchases (Mr Hbbb's budget) made!
* Sorted some of my yarn stash and needles ready for tomorrow's meeting, have some balls of yarn and needles I can donate.
What I didn't:
* Cook! Lunch out courtesy of Mr. Hbbb then he made a little nibbly supper thing a bit later! Very heavy on garlic though - may find myself sitting alone at meeting todayMFW actions:
* Didn't manage a NSD as managed to get floor paint from DIY store which is closing down, should have been £40 but was down to £20, plus free applicator / brush thingy to go with it. Hope to have good go at little bedroom over the Easter weekend.
* Did end of week work books as clients have all paid on time, put £300 MOP across. At the moment, total means we've met 1st mini goal of being under £109,000 by end of month, but there are still a couple of direct debits to come out and hopefully another MOP to go in, so final total to be revealed at end of month! Very pleased this is going in the right direction!Grey clouds: none really apart from still being a bit concerned about my feathered ladies. They were much better last night though!
Silver linings: productive day on all sides.
. Daily declutter: set of old man-cave shelving passed on to neighbour and Fleabay parcel posted = 120 / 365
Simple pleasures: finally spending an evening without working until 9pm ... sorted stash, picked my knitting back up and let Mr.Hbbb thrash me at chess, then watched DVD together, proper Friday evening! :T
So now to get on with today's plans, which include:
* laundry
* another parcel to post!
* attend guerrilla knitting meeting
* a little more stash organisation once I've been to said meeting!
* meet up with mum and sisters for tea and cake post-birthday gathering (aka coven if you listen to Mr Hbbb) and pre-birthday planning for sis who has her own big round number birthday coming up in the summer!
* watering lettuces
* clean bathroom
* catch up with some diaries!
Ohh and try to smell less like anti-vampire person before I go anywhere! May have to have several strong coffees so that I reek of that instead, a tad less anti social, do you think?
Happy weekend everyone!

Update from this morning's list:
What I did:
* laundry - Mr. Hbbb hung 2nd load onto line for me as I'd already left house. Innovative pegging style!
* another parcel to post - mission accomplished, added to declutter total.
* attend guerrilla knitting meeting - much bigger project than I thought, part of a national project with lots of other coastal towns taking part.. have come away from it committed to knitting a fishing hut (landmark in our town)!
* meet up with mum and sisters for tea and cake post-birthday gathering (aka coven if you listen to Mr Hbbb) and pre-birthday planning for sis who has her own big round number birthday coming up in the summer! Great fun, we had mum crying with laughter in the tea shop ... and she just loves the excuse to say "will you girls behave yourselves!" at her age / our ages!
* watering lettuces - all done.
* catch up with some diaries - mostly done, haven't forgotten you A*M and P*M but tomorrow is another day ...!
What I didn't
* clean bathroom - postponed until tomorrow
* a little more stash organisation - ditto
Ohh and try to smell less like anti-vampire person before I go anywhere! May have to have several strong coffees so that I reek of that instead, a tad less anti social, do you think? - First thing my sister said to me was "you been eating garlic?" and this was after the meeting!MFW actions: £50 voucher for bank account switch arrived; £5 Royal Mail survey voucher safely received too - excellent post today! All have been safely put into Xmas pot. Slightly spendy day apart from this as a couple of gifts purchased for upcoming events and treat of tea and cakes with mum to pay for (but this is the only treat spend this month - especially as I've recycled the Joe Brown catalogue so I can't make a wish list)!
Grey clouds: none, blue skies day! Although there's now a buzzing critter trapped in the house which is driving small dog mental and in turn driving me lightly batty too! Not very restful!
Silver linings: lots of walking achieved (for me anyway) another 5 km.
Daily declutter: 7 pairs of knitting needles donated to knitting project + parcel out = 128 / 365.
Simple pleasures:
* Time with family.
* Being involved in something: working for self at home has been very isolating since being used to working in school, so it's great to be well enough to be involved in a community project and just be "out there" a little more!
* Mr. Hbbb knocked down a dwarf wall that's been annoying us in back garden whilst I was out - bricks to be recycled into front garden, plan is for a crazy paving type effect. Unfortunately there are fewer whole bricks than we wanted as he was sledge-hammer happy so effect likely to be more crazy than paved at the mo. Trying to think of a cost-neutral plan B!
* Robin is so close to hand feeding but every time he's up close and personal a big black dog comes to sit on my lap (I have to sit on floor to be at robin / backdoor mat level) - this is an open invitation to big black dog who likes her cuddles!
Hope everyone has had a great day, hugs if needed!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

My dh also has 'an innovative pegging style'!
How big is the fishing hut you're knitting? I have visions of your stash disappearing as you knit it ...
