Thanks MWC, not sure if it makes it feel better or worse that other people are noticing what's going on. Still, nice to know we have some lovely loyal friends, here and in RL! xAlchemilla wrote: »I cant get my head round uno.

Colour or number Al, that's all you need to Uno (altho I was shocked how many of the rules I've forgotten since my children have become adults!

I really feel for you & Mr Hbbb. it is not a good situation at all.
It'll probably be better when the meeting is done, and he knows how he stands. It's the waiting that's the worst.

Evening Habibiboo,
Does Mr H have examples of any situations he wants to be able to recount if necessary? I read that his friend/colleague is giving advice for anything that happens now but can he go over the last year, using a diary as a memory jogger, or using triggers, such as school vacations to remember behaviours which were unacceptable/unprofessional perhaps?
Does he track his hours, collect any positive feedback electronically?
It's difficult without knowing what they are going to talk to him about, but it may make him feel less stressed about it, if he knows he has some factual information in his mind?
Really wishing you both all the best.

Hi HBBBO when I was "hormonally challenged" I got a £380 repayment because the heating only ever went on when visitors were coming!
I am so sorry for Mr HBBBO but second everything that has been suggested, and also work out what offer he would accept to go, financially and in terms of the reference he will need. It sounds like a compromise agreement may be on the way. It is a terrible strain but knowing what you will bargain with should the time come puts you in the position of control rather than management holding all the cards.0 -

Thanks Goldie ... at the moment the end of the week and his half term break can't come quick enough, at least then he won't have to think about it for a week (although I know from the fact that he came home with change from L*dl that it's on his mind in all contexts)!
He had the school night grumps last night, which wasn't helped by approximately 300 games of Uno with the young fella (conservative estimate of how many it felt like, rather than actually was, 'tis fair to say)! Still, mind successfully taken off things for an hour or seven!

Thanks Tilly. Main issue is that none of this was an issue until new broom swept in complete with own team in Sept. It was notable that several members of staff who knew this new broom left in July as they had already moved to get away once before!
He is keeping notes (with gentle reminders) but I do have to be gentle otherwise he feels nagged and then stressed, but you're right, Tilly he needs to be noting down the evidence of how fabulous he is too, as much as how revolting some of the small but meaningful actions in his direction are being. Thanks for the thought, it will help I'm sure.tootallulah wrote: »Hi HBBBO when I was "hormonally challenged" I got a £380 repayment because the heating only ever went on when visitors were coming!
Oooh, perks of having complete control of the thermostat! I've banned Mr. H from putting heating on yet, but he does light a fire at every opportunity! We took dogs (and student) for a walk in the park yesterday and everyone else we saw was wearing fleeces, jumpers or raincoats and I had to take my fleece off and tie it round me, so I could walk just in my short sleeved top.

Thanks for that Toots, I'd hope that if they do want someone younger and fresher faced for his department they'd at least have the grace to compromise rather than take the "we don't want you so we're out to make you look totally !!!! [oh and if we can make you feel that way too, then so much the better]."
He does have a good Union card to play if needed and is very well thought of in many realms of education in the town, so I'd hope he does have plenty of possible options, it's just hard to see him put in what is such a horrible place now, when he's always loved his job and the people he works with. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Ok, just to follow up since my last update with a quick post now as our little Monsieur is both sociable and needy in equal measures so doubt if I will have any 'me' time for updates later!MFW actions:
* NSD yesterday, but had to spend today to get packed lunch bits for fella plus milk as he's going through it at an alarming rate! So far this week then, NSD 1/7.
* Cheeky £10 MOP wrestled out of the budget and into mortgage.
AA day 59 / 100 = £919 / £2,000Grey Clouds:
None really, I spent the day with grace and calm of a swan on the water (but paddling furiously underneath)! Although ...Only one egg again today. It occurs to me that the 3 little muppets might be upset by all the recent fireworks around here. Any thoughts on this MWC?
Silver Linings:
I remain hopeful that Mr. Hbbb's day has been better, he will be home in a bit.
It appears, in amongst all the challenges that surround us at the moment, that I may have a little good news to share towards the end of the week. Fingers crossed!Daily Declutter:
Five half empty (conversely this is the optimistic view for this item) note pads successfully shredded with all spare pages removed and recycled into my scrap paper / jotter pages clip. I'll count this as 1 as it seems a bit cheeky to count 5 items!
Total 321 / 365Simple Pleasures:
* Managed to pop the dogs out to little park at lunch time. The council parks & gardens dudes were there so lots to make me smile:The absence of the dope fiends who had moved on because of the presence of 'official' people.
The scent of freshly mown grass.
Watching small scruffy dog wanting to 'take on' the leaf blower because he thought it was the hoover! Much hilarity with the gardens man who was up for the game.
Ok, so that's me, hopefully I'll get a bedtime catchup with your threads later!Ooh, but by the way ... Alchemilla, I may need a stand-in for Uno this evening if I can't persuade him to play owt else, and as it appears you need the practice ...
