I'm in the midst of a major catchup and am miles back in your diary, but wanted to pop up and say hello and also give out some HUGE HUGS for you & Mr Hbbb during these upsetting work times. I, alas, know these things all too well and it's a frightful thing to go through, hope things get sorted soon and life chippers up exceedingly without delay!
Yay for good news coming in other areas though, I'm looking forward to hearing all about it
Well done on the sorting out of notepads - as a fellow stationary-fiend I know how a) difficult such a task can be to face at times and yet b) how liberating it is to battle that pesky notepad overload! Three cheers for more declutterisation! :T
Now I must away, and burrow back down to where I last left your diary, looking forward to getting up to speed on all the latest shenanigans! xxx
Thanks P*M, lovely to see you! Hope you're all happy and settled. decluttering's gone by the by a bit this week (apart from toiletry use up) as our Petit Prince is a bit high maintenance! Will restart in earnest next week, hopefully.
Latest shenanigans eh ... you make our life sound much more exciting than it actually is! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Good luck with UNO.

Thanks Tilly, Mr. Hbbb is slightly brighter now that the holidays are upon us, but the student seems to be picking up the stress slack ... I do feel a bit mean saying this but I will be glad that we will be back to ourselves at the weekend! Some students you could happily keep forever, others make a week feel like a very long time!Goldiegirl wrote: »I tend to stockpile used notepads, just in case I need the notes.
Needless to say, I've never needed to look at the notes, and even if I did, I'm quite sure I'd never be able to find the right page.
So tomorrow, I'm going to have a small declutter of notepads.
Hope they're all safely decluttered now Goldie and that you have yourself a hefty stash of paper for:
1) sums
2) list making
3) diagram / plan drawing of gardens / growing plans or home improvements / possible room layouts
Top three most popular uses in MFW land, I think! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Looking forward to your news later on. xx
A*M, le petit prince est un petit peu precious ...
News is in abeyance slightly for a ridiculous range of reasons .... not least because I've careered through the last two days with all the grace and dignity of a Fantasia Hippo ballerina!
Hopefully I may get the answer I'm seeking tomorrow!apple_muncher wrote: »Bonjour! C'est presque les vacances!

Gosh everyone, you are lovely with your visiting and thanking and comments ... sorry I'm so hit and miss visiting your own threads, I promise once Le Petit Prince is safely on his way home at the weekend I am going to have a large glass of wine and an evening's catch-up with you all!
Meanwhile, the last few days have been ridiculous and frustrating on many levels, but we've managed to keep the MSE / MFW faith ...MFW actions:
* NSDs Tues, yesterday and today = 4/7 so far this week.
* Wrestled another cheeky £10 from food budget for MOP.
AA actions:
* Phoned Mr. T to cancel saver delivery and ask for a refund on the payment they had just taken. The required refund was £3 but they gave me a £10 eVoucher instead, so £7 extra gained into 'virtual' food pot (hence cheeky MOP funds).
* I had an old Am@zon CC years back which I only used once to help my son out. It was only in use for about 2 months until he paid me back, but they've mailed to say that they are no longer running the cards and are putting the Am@zon points I earned into my account as a voucher .... so another £7-odd voucher has appeared there, which is useful just before getting into the Crimble shopping spirit!
AA day 62 / 100 = £929 / £2,000Grey Clouds:
* Rain
* Stoopid computer ate my work
* Feeling frustrated at slow pace of this AA challenge (that's a slow pace with the financial end, not the actual 100 days as this month seems to be seriously flying by!)!Silver Linings:
As in my reply to MWC - a 2nd egg today! Woo hoo!
Daily Declutter:
Just one travel sized shampoo used up since last update.
Total = 322 / 365.
Going great guns with knitting lace scarves as Crimble comforters though, so separate stash ball challenge in signature is stepping up a pace!Simple Pleasures:
* Walking dogs yesterday was fun ... largely because the squirrels are so busy in the autumn leaves and it's driving the dogs mad in an hilarious cartoon-like fashion!
* Pulling up the biggest leek in the world, well, garden at least, complete in all its muddied rain-soaked glory, with a very satisfying squelch. It is now on its way to being a very satisfying soup!
* I've put the heating on these last 2 evenings as our visitor doesn't have a warm layer of clothing with him at all, apart from his coat (and although we're trying to be frugal I really can't make him sit around in his coat of an evening just because I've got my hormone heat to keep me warm :rotfl:). Thing is though, hormones aside, I'd actually forgotten how cosy it is just to have that burst of warmth morning and evening. We try to last until clocks back before putting it on, so we haven't done too badly really!
Hope everyone else is warm and snug. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

You no longer have a wool stash, in my opinion. You simply have a sensible amount of wool - 15 balls!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thanks for that MWC ... there's always one with no excuse but an innocent "what, me?" innocent expression!
Today we finally had 2 eggs after 10 days of 0 or 1 a day! I have a bet on with Mr. Hbbb that they'll just get back to normal then Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night will be upon us and off lay they'll go again! :rotfl:

Erm ... the thing is A*M, that challenge is to use up 60 balls from my stash, which is, erm, still probably into three digits ball-wise
Still, I shall tell Mr. Hbbb that I have it on authority that I "have a sensible amount of wool" ... that'll make him laugh at the end of a long week!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

... on the bright side, I'm finding that what nervous chickens don't supply in eggs, they more than make up for with ... fertilizer! Just don't try making an omelet with it!
Seriously though, hope yours get through it OK! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

TFI Friday everyone, made it!
Ok, work is done, quick update before everyone comes home, then hopefully I'll start catching up with your threads later on and into the weekend!MFW actions:
OK, thanks for all the crossed fingers, it appears I'm being offered a small part-time job, hopefully to start next month. This is an all-to-the-greater-good type of MFW action, really, as it means that:
* The monthly pay I'll bring home for the part-time job will just about come out at my monthly bottom line for working at home (which takes much longer hours), so I'll be doing less work for enough to get by according to our frugal budgeting and MFW endeavours!
* Which frees me up for my own projects two days a week or for pacing myself better when the house is full of students etc.
* Which also means I can really concentrate on the frugal food ventures from the garden as I can also incorporate more gentle time at the raised beds into the days when I'm not at work!
Had a spend day today for a few groceries (student wants to cook his speciality side dish for dinner so I had to get a few ingredients in). It's his last supper with us, so happy to let him and Mr. Hbbb take over the kitchen (he is a man's man for sure, this lad)!
AA day 63 / 100 = £929 / £2,000Grey Clouds:
 This very wet weather has revealed a guttering / fascias problem out the front. Not sure if this will survive being put off for the winter. We're going to have to get a few quotes in and have a discussion as it's causing Mr. Hbbb's lovely frugal front garden to flood.Silver Linings:
All job based (sorry, just a tad excited)
* I'll get out more ... working at home is a real privilege, but I do find working for myself at the computer to be very isolating after years spent in classrooms. I'm at the point with my health situation where my body (and certainly my mind) will be the better for a little work outside of the home and not being chained to the computer for a living.
* The job involves working with autistic learners, so I'll get to revive some of my school skills :T
* It takes the pressure of Mr. Hbbb a bit ~ it means that at least I'll have a steady part time income instead of my fickle freelance finances!Daily Declutter:
I promise, I will do some of this at the weekend! I did upload some of my CDs onto hard-drive though, ready to do a bit of M*Magpie before Christmas!Simple Pleasures:
* I trimmed my fringe to meet with new worky type people and realised that my fringe is now officially given over to grey! Growing it out is a long job but now if I put my hair up I can get an idea of my grey 'look'. It's not too bad really, I'm definitely going to have a white stripe though! Hopefully it'll give me a dignified and glamorous Susan Sontag look, rather than a skunk!
* Rediscovering old songs by uploading CDs and having stuff on random play ... I'd forgotten all about Three Little Birds for a feel-good song.
* Knowing I don't have to cook the dinner (even though I've done the hunting, gathering for it)!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, happy thoughts and hugs to you all. Looking forward to catching up with all your adventures soon! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
