    What a funny old day! it wasn't even normal over on these threads!

    ;) MFW actions:

    * NSD 2/7 achieved.
    * Tilly Tidy of £7.

    AA action: started list of possible candidates for current account swap, for Mr. Hbbb to consider (hope to earn a little cashback that way too).

    AA day 52 / 100 = £909 / £2,000.

    :( Grey Clouds:
    It's rained all bally day just about and Mr. Hbbb is still poorly grot, but ...

    :) Silver Lining:

    * ... he doesn't seem to have passed it to me yet!
    * Keeping positive about all sorts of things.
    * Plotting and planning to keep heads above water, that kind of malarkey!

    :p Daily Declutter:

    Charity bag wasn't picked up (probably due to the weather). Freecycle person didn't show, probably for the same reason. So nothing has left the building!

    However, I did unsubscribe from lots of email alerts etc to help declutter my in-box and my mind, which probably counts as one in the general holistic decluttering stakes, I think.
    Total = 309 / 365.

    :D Simple Pleasures:

    * Fireside
    * The warm thoughts of others
    * Fleecy jammies

    Hope everyone else is doing ok and has managed to stay dry today. ((hugs to you)) if needed, but not dodgy ones, obviously! :eek: There's been enough dodgy behaviour on these boards for one day!

    Sorry to hear of the "appointment" but I do hope that it will turn out to be nothing, and whatever happens the dread of the unknown will be over. Honestly it is so horrible to be in that situation. As someone who has often been giving the bad news my strong advice would be to have had a word with the union before the meeting so that you have the possible options in mind...........of course it all may be about running the new exchange programme!

    Good news on the hens and the de-cluttering.

    Hello there

    I feel for you Mr Hbbb. It's so difficult living with the uncertainty.

    We've both been made redundant in the past, and the worst thing was the waiting around for the months (and years) beforehand.

    When it finally happened, it was almost a relief in many ways. At least we knew where we stood.

    In the end, our lives after redundancy turned out better than before.

    It was a lot of upheaval, be whet we came through the other side, we were happier than before.

    Sending very positive vibes in your direction.

    Have you seen pictures of Tilda bunny? That's the one I make! Am not sure mine are quite as good as pics I've seen, but I like them and, more importantly, dd likes them! Bought me an orangey tartan-ish check-y shirt today (gawd, it sounds revolting!) to use for bunny bodies. Just £1. And I only went to the ch shop cos I'd paid for parking to nip to sains to get dd's bread - and they had none. Grrrrrrrrr.

    Like you, I have recently unsubscribed from various emails. I wasn't getting round to reading them, and then the simple task of checking my mail became overwhelming. Our new Head uses email well, so I need to keep on top of not only reading, but responding if nec, and putting them in a folder too. I try to do this twice a week at work, and write it on my to do lists. (otherwise described as scribbling in my planner!)

    How many current accounts do you have on the list? Is there a record for the most free money gained by bank hopping? Go girl!

    Am super jealous of your fire. We don't even have a fireplace here - it's one of the 'must-haves' for if/when we move. Plus a bigger garden (not hard), a bigger kitchen (again, not hard), a garage that is actually attached to the house and not 100 yards away... Oooh, what would MMM say! :rotfl: Pah! Bovvered - not!

    Hope all pans out well, m'dear. We are all rooting for Mr Hbbb.

  • Hello HB,

    I just wrote quite a long post which has disappeared, but I will summarise by saying my thoughts are with you but I bet it won't be bad news. Some school people just love to create drama and insecurity. And if it is bad news they wIll have to give Mr HB oodles of cash. They can't just go all private sector. Good luck to you both and I hope Mr HB feels better soon.

    All the best,

    Squirrel
    Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
    Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

    Thanks Toots, that's good advice. Union folk are already in the background re:general management attitudes and expectations of all staff so they are quite accessible at the moment.

    You're right though, it's probably going to be an invitation to take on some management duties "for experience" rather than any extra pay, which has happened before!

    Hens are being hilarious in all this rain, they are most indignant! Decluttering seems to have slowed so I hope yours is going a bit better! x

    Many thanks Goldie, sorry you've had those experiences. We're hoping it won't be that kind of chat but you just really never really know! I'm sure we'll come through it, whatever happens, but you're right, there will just be relief in getting the conversation out of the way! x

    Aww I know the ones you mean ... how cute! You and your charity shops!

    It's certainly worth doing, I'm trying to unsubscribe from 5 a day at the moment to make in boxes more manageable. I know what you mean about replying at the time, seems to make things easier somehow.

    How many current accounts do you have on the list? Is there a record for the most free money gained by bank hopping? Go girl!

    Ta ... we're looking for one more at the moment, going to spend a bit more time on this at the weekend, there are a few possibilities but it will have to be one which offers online banking for that Tilly tidying!

    Yes we love our fires! The thing is MMM does what suits him and his family and you'll be doing what suits you and yours, with whatever that includes! :T
    Hope all pans out well, m'dear. We are all rooting for Mr Hbbb.

    Thanks for kind thoughts A*M, just wish he felt a bit stronger in himself, it's really not like him to be ill too. Can't wait for half term to come around for him! x

    Thanks Squirrel, we're staying open minded and positive. We know there's little cash in the purse though, they gave big payouts to get rid of older staff last time around and have made it clear that the days those kinds of of offers are now past. We'll see.

    Ta for good wishes too, he's feeling a little better today but he's still very bathroom bound! :eek: x

    Thanks so much lovely visitors, both for commenting and thanking, it's much appreciated!

    ;) MFW actions:

    * NSD
    AA action - have said yes to having a student for a week from Saturday (from the smaller, better paying language school), which will help to get the AA challenge caught up a bit, I hope!

    AA day 53 / 100 = £909 / £2,000

    :( Grey Clouds:

    Mr Hbbb is still poorly sick, but ever so slightly better than he was, I think.

    :) Silver lining:

    Getting the call about the student ... they called us on the off chance as an emergency as they've been let down so we're getting a few brownie points for taking him, which means we may get onto their 'regulars' list.

    :p Daily declutter:

    Two folders of old work stuff passed on to someone else who can use them, so 311 / 365.

    :D Simple pleasures:
    * Have joined a local community choir for a 10 week project, which was good fun. Has also been recommended to help with the respiratory problems and the focus on breathing was really good.
    * Someone complimented me today on the way my greys are growing out, which was a lovely surprise! Yay to grey!

    Hope everyone else is Ok. Happy hump day tomorrow. x
