As an aside I feel I ought to offer a word of caution..whatever site you buy and sell on 'collecting' is a dangerous hobby to start. If I had not got involved in collecting items or sets that took my fancy I would be much richer now and more importantly have a tidy house.
Having read interesting posts from both Crowqueen and savingscruncher and just glancing in an idle fashion at coins or postcards for sale..I had to log out quickly before that urge to buy one or two got hold of me. Some of us have just too much of an addictive nature.
Goodnight one and all
and good luck with the charity auctions.
Thanks Soolin, and I agree collecting can be hazardous to your wealth. Goodnight.0 -
Sorry if this has been asked before... I'm seriously considering selling my handmade items on ebid. I'm not doing too well with ebay so thought since it's free to list and only pay a FVF, there's no harm in giving ebid a go.
I see with the standard seller account you can have one photo in your listing. My question is, can you do html listing like on ebay, so you can have more than one photo? With the help from photobucket. Thanks!0 -

I don't know much about ebid, but have your tried folksy, it's UK based, and also etsy?
You may already know them, as they specialise in hand-made stuff.0 -

Any level of seller membership can use as many photos as they like in the description part of the listing and can insert them using either html or wysiwyg.0 -

Some Ebid sellers report using etsy; some probably use folksy also. I think it is a good idea to use several sites. I not good at hand-made stuff so don't use these sites.0 -

I did not know about being able to use multiple pics in the description. That is great, particularly if a person wanted to try eBid for free first.0 -
Any regular users on ebid able to offer support on this thread?

For my purposes it began with research into Eastern European political history for my writing.
It helps now that I'm looking for specific items and so buying any old stuff just on the hope that it will be used at some point is futile. However, the delights of sitting back with an old medical almanac getting Victorian attitudes towards sex from the horse's mouth (so to speak...) are once again taking their toll."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

A little bird tells me that one eBid seller had 96, yes 96 sales yesterday - and it wasn't me0
