Hey all ... Spent the weekend ordering the fires etc so haven't really been online at all... Back at work now so back on the phone instead of the laptop so please forgive if it seems I'm brushing over stuff I just can't sort the screen out right

Butti tbh I am more of the first type ... A job is just a place for me to go to to earn money to have the life I want ... I have a very strong work ethic and I need to do my best whilst at work and that has led to an awful lot of stress and arguments when I feel and injustice has been done ( incidentally i am always right to go nuts ... I just find it very stressful ) ... But I never feel the need for glory like I have seen some managers go for

I have been asked several times to go into management tbh but it doesn't interest me in the slightest ... I don't feel the need for an ego boost that I have seen some managers ( but not all ) seem to need

To be honest ... If I could get a straight Monday to Friday day shift job with a good pension, holidays and sick pay cleaning toilets I would be happy ... They would be cleaned to the best of my ability but that's it

I think a lot of the reason that I get so stressed with my current job is because of the individuals I work with ... I have a very protective nature which can be both a hindrance and an asset in my line of work tbh

Hey Z .. I think a job that would give me a sense of fulfilment would be something in horticulture, sustainability, conservation, ranger type thing ... However there are no jobs in any of those fields ... Any jobs that are there are like gold dust

So with that in mind it's about getting a job that suits my needs and wants

Of which they are straight day shift Monday to Friday .. Decent pay... Good sick pay, pensions and holidays

They are probably rarer than hens teeth and jobs in conservation etc lol

When I say about going back to uni I mean ... Can I mentally go back to uni ... I hated the place last time... It had a detrimental effect on me... Can I put myself through that again ? Ok this course may be different ... But it may not be ... Is it worth taking the risk ?

So the phone has been cut off but the tv is still on... I'm sure that will be cut off soon as well

I'm quite excited to see how we manage without it all tbh ... Although in all fairness growing up we never had a tv ... Mr el did though so it will be interesting to see how he manages without live tv :) ... Have looked out our dvd's in preparedness :)

As mentioned before ... Fires have been ordered ... Mr el managed to get £700 off of the price .. They still cost us £4,480 though so OUCH

Went looking for carpets again and this time got given a price of £3,000 oh how we laughed ... It ain't the palace were carpeting me dear just the downstairs basement coal bunker !!!!!!

Have some overtime this week to help towards the costs every little penny helps but I have a feeling we are going to need lots and lots of pennies ... We have been quoted £4,500 for fitting of the fires as well ( it really is not a cheap alternative)

No bills have came out of the bank so no Tilly tidies done as of yet ... Have been looking at aurora borealis places to visit ... One price was £1545 each for a four night trip ... Seriously where do they get these prices from ?

Hopefully the fires will be worth it for keeping you cosy and should throw a bit of heat throughout the house, a warm winter for once!

My folks house used to be cold but they have a wood burner in one room and a coal fire in the other (as well as central heating) and DS and I joke about visiting in swimwear - it's too hot for us:D

ETA they don't usually have both fire and burner on - depends which room they are sitting in!

That's the same as us, we don't intend on burning both fires at once just the one that's in the room were sitting in... This way though we have options ... I like options :)

Look on the bright side - I wasn't given the choice. I now manage 3 people which everyone who knows me finds hilarious.

Yes, there also seems to be the rise of the zero hour contracts too.

Ask people who've been on it. Of course they may love it, and that may mean you won't - but at least you'll be prepared.

i reckon you would be a good boss :)

That's when most of the stress comes from.

yeah it certainly is for most people why some people see work as a competition is beyond me

    And very poorly paid.

yep very sadly it is ... its one of those jobs you do for the love of it rather than the money... i kinda need a bit more money

Yes, there also seems to be the rise of the zero hour contracts too.

i have a 22 hour contract, and i just had the boss on last night offering me a whole 2 hours extra a week ... but for those two hours i have to work two weekends out of three ... ermmm no

Ask people who've been on it. Of course they may love it, and that may mean you won't - but at least you'll be prepared.

thankfully i can get access to people that have been on the course, i have phoned the uni to speak to someone regarding the course, her answer machine and i get on well.. she has yet to either listen to it or phone me back

went to the opticians today, as expected my eyesight is perfect, so the optician was not interested in helping me find glasses or something to help with the photo sensitivity issue but did suggest that i carry on with my blue blockers maybe add some red blockers in as well and some polorized lenses also ... so three pairs of glasses for someone with perfect eyesight ... wonderful

i have also to use eye drops more often and spray my eyes as well as he thinks the blurryness etc is coming from tired eyes ... this was ofcourse after i told him thats where it was coming from ...

so have ordered myself some more glasses and a glass case to keep them in as i just have a wee bag just now and i am worried incase they break ... and at £40 a pair i dont want them too

still no bills have came out so no money to tilly tidy but that will happen soon i am sure :)

am starting on the great house empty for getting ready for the new fires to come in, i have to move the treadmill etc up to the spare room ... all the massage stuff to the cupboard under the stairs so that i can get access to it when needed... all the home brew stuff thats under the stairs to the garage ... the garage cleaned out so that i can store firewood ... i will not need the fires by the time its all done as i will be sweating doing it all :)

money wise ... i think thats us done with the big spends now ... just the fitting to pay for and that should be it ... now that i have the all clear from the optician so no huge glasses bill i think i can think of doing the transfer to 0% for 12 months and then start working on ways to hammer that down whilst at the same time hammer down the two mortgages

i cancelled my overtime as i have this migraine that i cant lift... i also feel yuck ... just really run down sore throat etc ... yes its a loss of £120 and that £120 could go a small way into making a dent on things ... but i just aint fit for it just now ... mentally or physically ...

    hope everyone else is ok
