so the plan between january and september of 2014 is to live off our basic wages and save any pennies that we can to help whilst i am a student ... that will have to involve another SOA and a bit of maneuvering ... but i am looking forward to the challenge

Your potential employers sound like a bit of a nightmare (maybe with the words 'a bit' removed). You however sound good...as usual.

Hey New girly ... lovely to see you :)

well what have i been up to? nothing much work and more work, was really really annoyed with my work today ( well xmas morning as its now boxing day)

i had to work till 10 am as there was no cover for the unit ... i came into work on xmas eve with a note telling me some information ... then on xmas morning at 7 am my boss phoned me to tell me that the information i was given the night before would mean that i would have to start work at 8pm ... so basically i didnt get home till 10.45 and had to leave at 7.15 to get back to work ... i didnt get to sleep till 11.30 and had to be up at 7pm at the latest so how is that a rest ?

i tell you if i ever moan about going to uni and how it isnt what i want to do ( and it isnt to be fair ) remind me it could be much worse ... i could be stuck where i am till i retire

the spending has still been happening sadly... we seem to keep finding new things that we just have to have for the fires etc ... this time it is wedges and protective headgear for the chain saw... they are not expensive but the spending isnt finishing :(

i have had another couple of Tilly Tidies which have joined the others in the Tilly Tidy holding account

i have started my UCAS application, i need to work on my statement and i think thats about all i can do to get into uni ... i have done the online training courses for the new job so will phone them back up in the new year ... i am thinking i need to stop doing overtime for my company as they really dont care ... so maybe i should just do any overtime with the other job

i dont tend to have new years resolutions ... but i am thinking of having some for 2014 ... anyone else thinking of any ?

Crikey El, wouldn't it be cheaper to just burn pound notes :rotfl:.

    Sorry work was pants :(.

At the rate were spending I'm thinking £20 notes would be much cheaper tbh

Work is pants ... It's been pants for so long now and it ain't gonna improve ... But I can't seem to get a new job so I think going back to uni maybe my only escape option

Have been dealing with the whole application form stuff for uni etc ... It's looking unlikely now as I will only get £3,120 in a bursary for year one and £2,120 for year two and three

Although I still need to check this out as it may be different in Scotland

Now I was seriously wondering if we could afford it when the bursary was £550 a month ... But at £260 for year one and £176 for years two and three

That just can't work for us

So I need to come up with another plan just incase this is the situation .... Will need to get my thinking cap on

The other quandary I'm having Is

Should I go general nursing or mental health ?

I quite fancy mental health ... But it is much more restrictive than general ... I can't say do my mental health and then work on a orthopaedic ward where as with general I could go almost anywhere

I I did general then mental health it would take 4.5 years to do
If I mental then general health it would take 6

I think I could do either tbh ... With the experience and qualifications I have either really is open to me ... In fact all nursing except midwifery would be open to me

    What a conundrum

I can't phone the uni or bursary people till jan 6th either so I have till then to stew ... Effectively

Money wise today I am aiming for a no spend day ... I hoped for one yesterday but seeing as I have spent so much on things for the fire etc I thought I would spend a wee bit on seeds ... Those tiny little pockets of life that bring joy into mine
