Lilt and Jellytots most excellent adventure...

I think the thing is that they pile a lot pf pressure on me because they know I rarely take a lunch break and always worked extra, gave far more than I was paid for, and really understood how business works and that they have to make money. At the same time it is hard because I am a mum and Jelly comes first and they know that too. I've been a manager, for many years and I think it is very hard gauging who is pulling a sicky and who isn't. When I have been off, it has always been for a week or weeks t a time. It is very rare that I have just one day off because normally I battle through those... Lol.
Macbook 'out for delivery' today, now that they finally allow you to track it 24 hours after it should have been delivered. Sigh. Not fetching it. Forgot Jelly & I have hair appointments.
List update:
Get up with alarm, make Jellys lunch, get her ready and to nursery on time (done)
Iron work clothes and Jellys clothes for the week/until bored (done & actually finished ironing!)
Read up more on macbooks
Make a hunters stew and freeze portions
Make a chickpea dahl
Make sweet potato gratin portions
Get my bag ready for work including my journal for rememberings and listings (done)
Take some of the stacks of frozen soups etc to work and use their freezer (set reminder for this tomorrow to take out morning before work)
Walk to work to get macbook if it arrives in the am (not happening - will suck it up and bring it home with me tomorrow)
Write my Christmas food shopping list for 2015. Bear with me, it is whilst I remember the mountains of leftover cheese truckles, excess veg etc, before I forget and decide I need to feed the 5000 again next year

P.S we aren't discussing my back any more. I am bored of talking about it. It hurts, I take pills.

Lilty, it's not like you've been off for colds or anything 'minor'. If you read the list of reasons that you have been off, it's all pretty major stuff. Having been a manager of a large team preciously, I know how exasperating high levels of sickness can be and that there are certain rules/procedures that have to be followed, however a bit of common sense is also required. The person who is always off with a sickness bug (read Hangover!) on a Monday, or needs to go home with a headache repeatedly on Friday afternoons (will be in the pub by 6pm) are the people who work need to be 'mad' at, not you who has had major illness/surgery for every time she is off (apart from once when HIM left which is also understandable.
I realise what I've written is very sweeping, but hopefully you get the point. Don't let them bully you.
I love chick pea dahl! I usually buy it in a tin from Asd@ though.

I am defrosting the sausage for the hunters stew and just off to make chickpea dahl.
I just wanted to announce as I forgot in my last 2 posts!!
At 08:09 this morning, my best friends baby daughter Gertie was born, happy and healthy!! 8lbs 6oz and mum and baby are doing great!!
Disclaimer: Gertie is not her real name, but is what she has been called since she was discovered to be a girl!!Happiest, proudest Auntie ever! And she is a little beauty with a shock of such long dark hair it could be plaited as her very proud daddy told me this morning. Mummy looks fantastic, as I knew she would. Breezed labour, of course.

Haha same same Lucky!!
Don't worry, I know 99% of my illnesses are extreme versions. I am not often poorly, but when I am, oh boylol. With the swine flu I had only been at work for 3 weeks  and was confined to my house and on tamiflu which other people had to fetch for me. Wasn't long after I move dhere, so it was hilarious really!

Ok it is really far too late to be posting an update on here. I have work tomorrow and I am not going to be able to get out of bed without a lot of coffee. Speaking of which have you see this new coffee maker which is wireless and makes your coffee in the morning just how you like it then sends you an alert on your phone to go and fetch it?! YES please!!
What have I got to tell you?
1. I am typing from my shiny new Macbook!!! So in love!
2. I opened a new regular saver and sent my payout from the old one (£3692.92) to a TSB 5% account
3. The new one already holds the maximum £300 for the month as I had put it aside this month as always
4. A man knocked on my door and asked to borrow my electric to do some work on the roof (2 floors above me!) because we have bumped paths on his site visits previously and I told him I would be happy to help him out if I was ever able (but couldn't previously as he was working in the basement!) and he gave me £5 to cover the extra electric, which he then barely used! How lovely.
5. This was the push I needed to drop Jelly off with my lovely neighbour for 10 minutes and get a taxi back and forth to work, where the taxi company gave me a half price fareand I got it for £7.50 so really £2.50
6. I took the things I needed to take to work tomorrow in the taxi and so am able to walk clutter free tomorrow!
7. My new baby Macbook is amazing, tiny and light and an absolute joy to work on and play with.
8. YNAB already installed and budgeted away all the most recent spends
9. Comedy moment of the day. Moi, Floopy (hairdresser, 11 weeks pregnant) & Pink Hair (other sweetie of a hairdresser) dangling Jelly screeching over the basin in order to wash out the red paint, yellow sand, and white flour from her hair so that she could have it brushed, let alone cut!
All topped off with an absolutely deliciously beautiful new baby to go and squeeze soon. So soon. I have to go soon!
Night all xxx

yay! So happy you have your new Macbook. I know the discount doesn't sound like much but its nearly 10%.... Enjoy. You deserve it and remember they do last (my brother still has an 11 year old one!) so worth it in the long run.
Lovely new about the baby, I am so happy for you xx

Ahoy
Am at work, doped out of my eyeballs and enjoying a couple of minutes of my *lunch* break on here before I go back to work. Boss is in with colleague so get a few minutes respite from the constant barrage as I am finishing up the last of several gigantic questionnaires for the PI.
Bad day for my back. Less said the better but it is crippling me sitting here. Still, can't afford to be off so that is that.
WIll be playing with YNAB tonight. Got to figure out what money should be in which account and make a request for a new current account switch from Natwide which just became redundant, to someone else (Clydesdale £150?) just purely for the purpose of running 2 direct debits from it for future switching.
Really can't focus right now. TTYL xx
