  • Greying if you came to my house you would be treated as every other guest and made to sit down with tea and biscuits ;) no washing up or chopping for you!! How very lovely you are though!

Lucky I will do! I genuinely debated not doing so :o lol!

Peaty my wrist has always been a bit odd, though nowhere near my sisters crazy hyper mobility - but recently I had an almost arthritic response to something where I felt awful and everything hurt so badly for ages. My wrist is the one thing that doesn't seem to have recovered 100% like everything else but it won't harm me. Remember my sister used to sit popping hers in and out for fun and to gross people out when we were kids. If it gets worse I shall go. If it is just a continuation like this then I am more than happy and will just have to figure out how to peel and chop and sponge things with my right hand instead of being a lefty for everything. Having said that, it has taken me nigh on 28 years to work a potato peeler with my left hand let alone my right :rotfl:

Am going to treat myself to a hot chocolate and carry on writing my Xmas shopping list then refining it whilst listening to the breathtaking beauty that is Ludovico Einaudi - Nuvole Bianchi :) x

Sorry to hear about Mr T substitution dilemma I have had it where I asked a bacon and got gammon and If i wanted gammon I would've chosen gammon, and the silly one when asked for oranges and got grapes, is what I'm saying is it happens to all of us confused about the Indian call centre though as I always called and got through to the head office I wonder what phone call phone number you rang.

Sorry to hear about your two and eight with him hopefully things will improve as the week goes on.

Wishing you good luck and pain free for the next week at work

  • Mine was Mr A's flower - always has been foreign call centre staff. Have yet to get through to someone I believe is in the UK! I ordered smoked salmon and got salmon fillets a couple of times previously so I feel your pain. Just because it comes from the same thing does not make it the same!! :rotfl:

Mr T was just as bad the one and only time I ordered there!

Things must get better - forgot to mention that Jelly has nursery for the full day tomorrow... how exciting! It is the first Sunday I have felt no stress about the following day since she started at the new place. By the time I have got her there and got home and tidied up it is time to sit and clock watch to go and fetch her usually.

Deliberately left the housework until tomorrow and we had a girly weekend baking and things although the weather was pants.

Had something else to tell you but have forgotten... Hmmmm

  • It was only one letter different!! ;) I gave Mr T precisely one chance when they offered me £10 off and £10 cash back ;) was not impressed so back to usually shopping in a combination of Mr L, Mr A & Mr S dependent on laziness and what my back feels like. And that is also the reason for the online shop this week!!

We baked dairy free chocolate chip cookies! They are so yummy melt in the mouth when fresh from the oven I have to confess to deliberately only cooking half the batch and we still ate them all :o very light!

The disaster was the gratin. It went perfectly. I sliced the sweet potato, laid it out into ceramic dishes, topped with cooked bacon, finely chopped onion and a hint of minced garlic, then a bit of an amazing homemade creme fraiche b!chamel sauce which I was so proud of... and repeated until I topped it with bechamel and grated cheese... it looked amazing, until it cooked. nowhere in the recipe did it explain that the 20 minutes in the oven would make the sweet potato leak a load of juice which in turn split the sauce so it was lumpy and bitty and the onion was overpowering so it was all a bit much!

I always have a Tuesday to myself, as Jelly had 15 free hours so did 3 hours Mondays, 6 Tuesday and 6 Weds, which gives both Him and I time off from her to do as we please on our own separate days.

I work Weds to Fri each week and that is when he is here, to look after her. Mondays were always a rush and then my in laws may or may not pop over, and it ended up being such a stressful day I thought for the sake of an extra £12 paid to the nursery a week I will get such freedom, and my in laws can either choose to come for an hour after Nursery on a Monday or they can come Fridays when I will be at work. It serves a dual purpose as Him can get a lift home with them if they wait until I get home, and usually FiL comes to collect me from work which saves my back!!

In terms of my back and the op! It is meant to have an effect after about 3-4 weeks and continue improving until I no longer need the painkillers which is the reason for wanting it done. It may or may not work, may or may not last for 6 months, a year, 2, 3, 10 etc. there are no guarantees so I just have to feel my way through it... If it doesn't work, there are several other options they can consider, but again not guaranteed and riskier in turn so will see how this goes first. I just want to come off such volumes of codeine!!

Much like you with your hip!! Madness! Have a neighbour who had the same op in April last year and she is still walking with a walking stick though much better now! How are you feeling? Does it feel better than it did before the op? xx

How very interesting similarities between your back operation and my hip I feel better now after my placement as I don't have the grinding pain I had with my old hip but unfortunately due to the way they performed the operation I now have trapped nerves in my scar tissue so I have another operation in three weeks to try and release this is very painful as currently I struggle to wear trousers and anything touching my bare skin a bit like severe sunburn if you've ever experienced that.

Prior to my operation I have been using crutches since the first operation in 2008 I am now down to one crutch although the physio has told me to go back to 2 as I'm not walking very straight and can put stress on my back, is that a long road six operations in six years and I'm only 31 hopefully this next operation will like you mean I can reduce the amount of painkillers I take I'm currently taking two types of tramadol, Codrydramol naproxen, and itching tablets for the tramadol about eight/nine tablets a day this is ridiculous hopefully like yourself I can reduce these in time.

Sounds like you have the nursery and the mother-in-law father-in-law and him down to a tee. how are you finding work with you unaccommodating

  • Oh goodness me!! I cannot take tramadol, or naproxen anymore but at first when I did my back I was on both of these and 5mg valium tablets, maximum levels of everything! I lived in lala land, and I had no idea there were tablets to ease the itching which is why I don't take tramadol!! I practically removed my nose from my face!

As for the hyper sensitivity due to nerves... Wow ou poor thing. My mum is going through a rough time at the minute with her cancer, and she has had 2 big ops... so much skin removed that she can barely move because it feels like she will split open, but she cannot wear anything other than one tight running vest on the top half of her body at the minute without being in pain.

I had a trapped nerve in my shoulder a long time ago and I still remember that pain so I sincerely feel for you and hope this op can sort it out. I never knew they could trap nerves like that! I thought it was purely bones that trapped them!

I can't believe you are only 31.... :( it is not a way to be at our age is it. I feel like an old granny.

Work... well, how to describe it. Colleagues are lovely and kind for the most part; helpful and thoughtful although telling me not to take so many tablets is a bit rubbish sometimes. I know, it is why I had the op... Bosses are unsympathetic as if showing weakness will allow me to take the P. Boss cracked Friday though. Could barely get up from my chair and was hobbling around all bent to one side. She looked worried. She shouldn't worry. I can't afford time off without pay :rotfl:

As for nursery... I love LOVE Jelly's nursery. She went to another before this and she never mentioned it once she was out of there. She had different nursery nurses every day; no one could tell me what she had done with her day, or how she had done with her food, she often came home unclean and unchanged and very sore. This place, she loves it and has come on in leaps and bounds. I know when I drop her off that she is being challenged, played with, engaged and disciplined in the same ways she is at home. We teach her in the same way and it shows. She is leaps and bounds ahead of the other kids :)

I did have to laugh at the old granny bit I feel 101 not 31, I asked about work as I've just returned after nine months off sick now that I have exhausted all my sick pay have no choice but to return I've done three days of work last week and I've spent all weekend in bed recovering, something which I know you can't do with jelly at home, simple that I commend you.

My colleagues in work are very understanding like yourself my boss is not so, she keeps saying to me if I'm not ready to come back I should've not come back even though I try to explain it is the money that's made me return and for social reasons I feel being stuck inside the flat for months on end is not counterintuitive for pain and for mental health, I have enjoyed return to work just sometimes wish people understand how pain makes you mood change, and the happy-go-lucky person disappears for awhile anyway enough about me this is your diary not mine

Hopefully things will get better for both of us 2015 is this our year?
