    Hi Lilt

Putting a stake in the ground as have been lurking and reading :o Off to read the rest of your diary to fully catch up. :)

Cakes at work brings back memories of my old job, just me now with SE. Guess I could buy a box and eat them all myself though :rotfl:

Enjoy your snuggles and a good rest too. :)

  • Haha! Hi Ali. Welcome... join in, don't read.. it is gibberish ;)

I did not manage to get myself back on here last night. Another night of giving in to the pain. This morning all it took was an hour of getting Jelly sorted out and I had to come and lie down. Going to be a long weekend.

Cakes at work: well we have a rubbish job with a lot of pressure and so cake relives some Friday stress. It graduated from one cake, to one at 11am and one at 3pm :rotfl: I shall be even fatter soon. They ante has been upped and yesterday was a big chocolate vanilla and fudge cake. My turn involves 12 Tosco cupcakes... I think I would have a cake Monday to Friday if I was SE!! :o

Jelly has this morning been rocking out to System of a Down - Chop Suey. Now she is trying to sing Shakira - You Don't Care About Me... :rotfl: - meanwhile she is standing on my stacked pillows, holding onto the headboard and diving off backwards onto the bed. I no longer even get palpitations when she does these things. I can't stop her. I will just mop her up afterwards.

Just bought myself a sleeve and a crystal hard case for the macbook. I've also discovered silicon keyboard covers so am trying to find the best value one i.e. one that doesn't take 23 days to deliver, cost £1 and £4 delivery.. lol. The other two should have been a combined £49.94 but they were on flash sale & I had a £5 gift card so magically I spent £9.95 :rotfl:

I think it makes sense to cover it as much as possible, as well as keeping it completely away from Jelly as much as possible. Just in case. I am not invincible, nor infallible. I might drop it all by my own :D

Had some other stuff come through and just trying to figure out my YNAB thanks to moving my accounts around in terms of what holds what. I also want to sign up for a new account this weekend.

Will be back later with news of finances. xx

Hi Lilt (and jelly) have just got to the end of your diary and I couldn't read and not to post.

You have changed a lot in the last year since I started reading your diary you are an inspiration to everyone on here amount of people you have inspired is incredible.

I like yourself have just returned to work after extended time off work after a operation I understand totally your feeling of anxiety returning to work I had my hip replaced in May last year and have only gone back to work this week. I too am struggling with the work load and the extra strain working has on your body.

I hope you're settled back into work now and your home life has improved its amazing how your life has changed since you first posted this diary last year I have been lurking after reading from the beginning and your diary is one of the few I subscribed to.

Can't wait to see what 2015 brings for you, pain freedom and happiness I hope.

Till the next update Lilty good night and Sleep well

Hi Lilt, :rotfl: at Jelly, kids are so funny at that age. :rotfl:

Well done on the bargainous MacBook accessories for £9.95. :T

Cakes at work are dangerous. We buy cakes before going on holiday in my place - end up feeling sick of cakes by the end of the summer. :o

Jelly has a pretty great taste in music if she likes SOAD :)

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain, are you starting to get a bit better?

We had cake on friday, this healthy eating thing is not going very well! Not at all!
  • Hello!!

Peaty no it is not... :( I am getting bigger not smaller!! :rotfl: my back is today where it was on Tuesday before work. I am hopeful that another 2 days of chilling before work again might mean that I can get a bit better and cope with work a bit longer this week, and then it will be continually getting better until zero pain! Having said that, I dislocated my wrist chopping bacon today and am genuinely getting so bad at chopping things/washing the pots with that wrist I need to talk to the doctor about it... it is a bit strange.

Westie thank you for joining in!! And reading my whole diary. It is nice to get a perspective on it from someone who has seen it unfold but seriously I am not an inspiration. I am just me, and most days that is good enough for at least one person other than myself so I am getting somewhere in life!

Sashybo we also get birthday cakes, for anyones birthday. And we get post holiday treats from the destination itself :D and since everyone is on holiday at different times, it is all spread out ;)

So to my news today. I only went and FOUND £5 roadkill!! In the mingingest place everrrrr! In a muddy leafy puddle half covered up so I have probably gotten cholera or something, but I have washed it with persil and dried it on the radiator and it smells lovely now ;)

Also a SFD so £5 up in total today.

My rubbish news is that Mr A's delivered my shopping and it was abysmal from start to finish. I changed the message for the driver to explain the new door code system. The note changed at my end but not at his so he was stuck outside banging until my lovely neighbour let him in!

Next up he shows me the substitutions... It says my 2 cans of chickpeas have been substituted with 1 branded can of chickpeas and 3 branded cans of chickpeas. In actual fact, these are mini tins, but the difference worked in my favour, right up until one of the cans of chickpeas was in fact a can of cannellini beans. One of my eggs was broken. I had been charged for 2 bags of chicken dipper things, but received only the 1 I had ordered in the first place. And they had replaced the 2 x 200g of Clover which was £2 each or 2 for £3, for a 1kg tub, charging me £3.70.

I was so angry, I could have gone online and requested refunds, but I was steaming and the bloke on the door had already explained that I would need to ring to get the difference on the Clover refunded. So I phoned. And I got through to a call centre in India which is unsurprising given the time on a Sunday it is. The woman made me repeat my name and address 6-7 times over the call, including right at the very end. And she was ruder than rude. I took 15 minutes repeatedly explaining the above issue with the chickpeas. She snootily tells me over and over again that the driver would have directed me to the subs. Yes... subs of chickpeas for chickpeas, but that wasn't what I got. Nor could she work out the seemingly baffling maths that is a refund of a quarter of the cost. She did not believe me that the Clover was on offer, and had to go online to check after I repeated myself 4 times. She THEN told me I could return my items to the store for a refund. I asked if she was going to refund me the delivery charge of £2.50 I had paid, if I was meant to go and collect the correct items myself! Apparently not. I asked to speak to her manager eventually. A request which she turned down after assuring me she WAS listening to me, and hurriedly she refunded something else so I have no idea what the heck I am getting back. Fuming! I am going to write a disgusted email to them.

What is next? Oh I made the sweet potato, bacon and onion gratin. It went together perfectly, the b!chamel I made from scratch was beautiful... and then once cooked it was not nice at all :( I think the liquid from the potatoes just made the b!chamel separate and the onion was overpowering in the end. So not one I would repeat really. I will stick to dauphinoise!

Had a to-do with Him over the phone yesterday and it put me in a real stinker of a mood. In the end he was right and I am glad that I thought it through overnight before coming on here and blasting him. Just because he was right does not mean that everything he does is right. My point, which was besides the main point and therefore spat at him unfairly in an argument, but is still a point nonetheless... He has not paid a penny towards anything in the house for 2 months now. Despite saying he would pay half for Jelly's items and some towards groceries for when he is here. The reason I brought it up is because he was asking me for some money back. But I shouldn't have so I apologised. And paid him his money back. It has left me with pretty much no money as I moved too much across to my savings fund ever-hopefully. I guess I should move it back but I am tempted to just see if we can survive.

I've £5 for bread and milk after all ;)

Off to see if I can find my Halifax bank details as I am locked out of all of my banking apps thanks to switching my hone over to the mac :(

  • Always forget you work in Mr A Lucky :o:o:o hahaha!! Did I tell you how I was followed around the store by a woman who watched me put my items through the till and then went and told the security guard to frisk me because I didn't put an outfit I bought for friends baby in a bag but hung it back on the pram?

Had to get my receipt out to show the security woman and everything. Turned out she thought I had not paid for some dummies, as I picked up a pack, shoved one in Jelly's mouth which sent her to sleep and put the others on the pram with the rest of my 2-3 shopping items. The best bit was, I was overcharged for them, so went to customer services on the way out and got the difference refunded by the cashier, in full view of the security guard and the woman talking to her, before they stopped me!!

Must look like a tea-leaf eh.. :rotfl:

Go to the doctor about your wrist! You're going to do yourself harm! Do you know if you should cool your back or heat it? Apparently, hottie bottles can be used for both.

I'm sorry to hear about the rubbish customer service, did you try to get through to the complaints department?

Yay for roadkill! I'm just really pleased that I went out drinking and spent less than £40 >.>
