Lilt and Jellytots most excellent adventure...

I used some kind of education discount Brightspark, but I remain unconvinced that it was the right one. Every time I went a certain way it forced me to the Unidays website to 'log in' before I could proceed. But if I went a different way I got some discount but not a particularly excellent one. £999 to £939.60, better than a kick in the teeth.
Speaking of kicks in the teeth... still no Macbook. Reason number 1 is that it was not delivered and work is now closed. I could get exceedingly grumpy about this, but at least I know that delivery was not attempted. And that it has not been stolen from the front door by unscrupulous idiots in my building.
Reason number 2 is... I took Jellytot out in the pram. And I can't push it. I walk like some 100 year old doubled over shuffling. I just barely got to the pharmacy and got the basics in the wrong supermarket to tide me over. And I've been in extreme pain ever since. Thank goodness I picked up a shedload of prescription painkillers at the pharmacy. I'm laid up. I daren't think about what this means for walking to and from work, or sitting down there all day.
MagicCat how absolutely awful!! They say that it comes in threes so hopefully that is you done for a while! Bad luck on the laptop... mine is 9 years old and was trashed by a toddler so it owes me nothing.. but 9 months... you poor thing!
New Year, New Start... every single day is the start of a new year peeps

If you absolutely insist on going back to work this week (and I still don't think you should!), then perhaps you can spend some of your FD interest on taxis?
 Sorry you didn't get your MacBook XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Lilty sorry to hear that the Macbook hasn't arrived, how annoying!
I'm in agreement with PLMBL, I really do not think you should be going into work tomorrow, In fact I think you need to get yourself to the docs and get yourself signed off even if it is only for another week.
Take care and don't be doing too much.x.0

            Hey ladies,
Thanks for the support, especially about looking after my health. How to put it so that I don't sound insane now.... :hmm:
Since I started my job in September 2009, I have had:
3 weeks off with Swine Flu & complications due to Asthma
Several operations for my endometriosis requiring a minimum of 1, usually 2 weeks off
Maternity leave of 9 months, where I did not only my 10 'keeping in touch' days but another 20 or so ad-hoc days to keep my job ticking over (so brownie points from work for this)
2 weeks off when I popped my discs, followed shortly by another 2 weeks for stress relating to Him dumping me, and an op to have my wisdom teeth removed immediately after I should have returned to work, which I actually had to take holiday to cover as work were so mad.
My back has been chronically bad for the last 18 months and they have put up with so much, including getting a physio in to assess my workstation, getting me a new chair, mouse and keyboard, and an upright file holder. They have been so accommodating and allowed me to do what has been necessary to keep me in the office, even if this has meant lying down on the floor around the corner from reception out of view in my lunch breaks. Because this is what policy dictates.
BUT they have been less accommodating when it comes to time off, with each incident. The last time I asked to go home early, as Jellytot was horrifically poorly, as was Him and he couldn't get out of bed, thus leaving an ill 18 month old to fend for herself other than him getting her food and drinks, the reaction from my boss was 'Policy forces me to be flexible with this, but personally I think this is completely out of order and I should not say what I really want to say, so just go home' - I only asked for 45 minutes off. After working through my lunch in preparation for it, so they ended up with an extra 15 minutes out of me as I did not dare leave.
So, when my original appt to see the pain doc fell in the middle of a working day, I took flexible time to cover it and worked a Tuesday as I had no holiday left. And when they said I needed the op, my boss fought not to roll her eyes and failed at hearing that it had to be a Tuesday and I had to take 5 days minimum off.
My relief at it being a week before I went back to work therefore, and the reason that I will be back at work, is simply this. I need my job, and they are pushing people out left right and centre on technicalities. Our contracts were amended 8th December and we no longer receive anything except statutory sick pay, the place is now going to open over Christmas for the first time in 25 years, and various other draconian policies are in place.
I will be there because there is little choice other than causing myself serious hassle and stress, having moody silences and nasty jobs pinged my way, losing out on £90 a day, and be one step further to them finding a way to push me out, since they do not like my being part-time.
What a dull and boring post... I need another one to lighten the mood.

            So...
Macbook didn't arrive, but at least I know that it is safe. I now have the time to spend deleting unwanted junk from my phone, backing it up, updating things, and researching the best ways of switching to my new one when I get it. I am a bit shocked that they do not track £1000 items, or allow customers to track them. I don't even know the parcel company it is coming via!
Have got all my painkillers for the month sorted now, so am relieved as I was out of Amitriptyline as of tonight and now have double what I need before the next prescription, so a back up or extra. I count my lucky stars that I don't pay prescription charges at the minute as seriously it would be £70+ a month every month for the last 2 years.
My friend has had the induction process started so fingers crossed there will be a new baby in the world before the end of the day tomorrow! Need to get a card sorted out, but want to personalise it and they don't have a name yet for her
Am sat in my beautoful bedroom with twinkly lights and a hidden stash of Yorkie bars. Looking at my pots of money and figuring out where is best for my individual pots to be stored to maximise interest etc. I currently get around £9 a month, but adding £2700 to that should boost it by another £5 a month I hope.
Want to switch banks in Feb as my 5% on Natwide finishes then, and I have the loyalty and morals of an alley cat. SO Clydesdale is offering £150 to new customers, if you switch with 2 direct debits and shuffle money around... so will do that. Free money, every little helps towards the Mbook.
Need to declutter. There is a box of things specifically to sell on top of my wardrobe and it is huge. Kids toys, brand new boots my sister gave me and have never been worn, etc etc etc.
Hope everyone is good I am off to find a cup of tea! xx I am off to find a cup of tea! xx

List while the rads mostly cook the washing I just got out.
 Tomorrow I need to:
Get up with alarm, make Jellys lunch, get her ready and to nursery on time
Iron work clothes and Jellys clothes for the week/until bored
 Read up more on macbooks
Make a hunters stew and freeze portions
 Make a chickpea dahl
 Make sweet potato gratin portions
Get my bag ready for work including my journal for rememberings and listings
Take some of the stacks of frozen soups etc to work and use their freezer (set reminder for this tomorrow to take out morning before work)
Walk to work to get macbook if it arrives in the am
Write my Christmas food shopping list for 2015. Bear with me, it is whilst I remember the mountains of leftover cheese truckles, excess veg etc, before I forget and decide I need to feed the 5000 again next year
Right that should do it, my brain can switch off. xx

Never dull or boring. I love to hear about your life. Bear with it, because as Jelly becomes older you will be less restricted. But I know what it feels like. You have guilt for not being there for your child and you really don't need the guilt trip from work. I've been on the other side of covering for sickness and can understand the difficulties of a manager coping without you, but wouldn't it be better for her just to tell you how much you've been missed once your back. Not for the going home early bit for poorly Jelly though.
As you've said before, it's a well paid job, don't let them bully you out, you've a right to be ther. XxOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hi Lilt, hope your back is feeling better today. Also fingers crossed for the MacBook's imminent arrival to your loving arms.
Sorry to hear about work, sickness is always a tough thing for both parties. They really need to be more grateful that you are trying your best, it's not your fault that you've been in poor health and if you can physically get there you are going. I hope that your back isn't too bad when you're there though as nothing more miserable than being ill at work.
Hope you can work through your list for today. Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900.
