  • Eeeeeeeh poor me?!?! POOR ME?!?!

    I have got:

    - A beautiful daughter, happy, healthy and asleep
    - A Him who is finally stepping up to the person I expect him to be for both me and Jelly
    - Parents who are not perfect but try their best and love me to bits
    - Amazing friends, IRL & on here. I love you all dearly.
    - A fully cooked, utterly perfect new niece(ish) on the way. My besties daughter will be induced tomorrow & I get to meet her so soon!
    - A job where I work 3 days a week and still earn enough to support my family (and it isn't so horrid I hate it!)
    - £3600 plus interest appearing in my e-saver to be distributed as I wish tomorrow
    - My new macbook being delivered
    - YNAB, running my life!!
    - A freezer full of yummy easy food to defrost
    - Only one more load of washing to do tomorrow
    - Two more days off work!
    - FAIRY LIGHTS shining on the headboard behind my bed
    - Chocolate
    - A battery pack for my phone so that I am never ever without charge wherever I go (thanks mumma)
    - Tiger balm and painkillers.

    Poor me *pfft*

I haven't baked yet. I solemnly swear I will do it with the easy yeast tomorrow instead of the whisky frothy sugar and water one I was going to use ;)

Dinner was *nom* and Mrs H my appetite is quite low at the minute so my portions are very wee (unless above mentioned chocolate or mince pies ofc) so I didn't want to waste anything hearty on myself. I am craving sausage and mash with red onion gravy!

I feel... OK. My back is in pain but it has been worse and for that I am grateful. There is something pleasing in knowing I have gone through the worst and am coning out of the other side intact. Tiger balm.. rules! And I've got fairy lights, so I'll be fine.. :rotfl:

I am genuinely going to make a meal plan now. Number one I can see space in the fridge again so it is no longer a necessity to just munch my way through what I can see. Number 2 tomorrow is a Monday and my spreadsheet starts on a Monday and that is too nice an opportunity to pass up ;)

  • I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Actually what I came to say was... I only went and meal planned dinnai. And things I love like sweet potato gratin, hunters stew, fajitas & toad in the hole appear. And nowt needs buying for it to come to pass :D

    Mischief managed.

I know exactly what you mean about getting the jitters about going back to work after a long time off - I think everyone gets it, surely??

Hope your MacBook arrives early - I think a taxi would be easier for you with your back at the moment?

By the way excellent & positive post about all the things you have to be grateful about. :T :T

That is such a great attitude and I wish I could be more like that - can be very negative, doom & gloom and panicky at times. My DH is very sensitive to my moods and he then starts getting down as well!! :(

Still no Macbook - or work colleagues find it hilarious to think of me sat waiting for a call and have not told me it is there yet. Don't be such a suspicious cynical boots Lilty. They will tell you when it is there. *hmph*

Happy New Year Lilt and jellytot!

I've been offline for a bit - xmas tripple whammy of car dying and needing luckily not too many repairs, new boiler required and lastly 9 month old lap top dying (this last has been sent back to the manufacturer, I'm determined not to pay for at least some of these disasters!) have left me away from MSE and not too jolly, but new year, new start, yes?

So pleased to hear you had a lovely Christmas (I think all of us on here would agree you were treated as you deserve rather than spoilt), Him is being supportive, and the pain is improving - so sorry to hear it has been so bad over the past few days though. As always, your positiveness shines out - you are such an inspiration.

Hope the Macbook arrives soon, have fun with it.
