  • Ladies a always you cheer me immensely!!

Lucky I've nowt against Geordie lasses, floozy or no. But as this particular one has biked her way around 4 of his gang of 6 now (him not included as he fell out with one of the other lads a while back and she cut contact in favour of the other one - how I wish I could say that I actually had an impact in making him stop talking to her!!) and one of them was just in the process of buying a house with his girlfriend of nearly 10 years when he went off to stay in a hotel up your end with her the other week, I think I am justified in being a bit against her from the start of them playing online together 18 hours a day.

apple oh my was Ben Faulks ever a bit of a camp Peter Pan but it was lovely!! I LOVE cbeebies Panto's!! I got a bit sick of the ugly duckling after they showed it about 20 times mind, but I could happily watch that again now. Ohhhhhhhhhh The Snowman & the SnowDog. Remind me to buy myself that tomorrow!!! I've got the snowman and it is my all time favouritest Christmas film. I also used to have a VHS of a kids film called 'Grandpa' in very much the same frame of mind as The Snowman but an altogether super sad film. It was my other favourite. I wonder if they ever went about putting it onto DVD!

Peaty do you have any kind of playback tv? I am sure you will be able to watch it on Christmas Eve of Christmas day!! A blanket sounds nice but I saw the cutest duvet set for Jelly in Mr A's and idolised it lol. Still have sat on my hands thus far!!

SuperDavina you too :) heart you bunches...

Thank goes for everyone else too. Today has been a fabby day with my little pickle, rounded off with her talking so much I went into her bedroom to give her a good telling off, and found her fast asleep talking away!! Love her bones! xxx

  • Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday :) is it sad that at 28 I love the CBeebies panto? (Well any panto really!) makes me feel very festive. I think I enjoyed the one at school more than the kids last week and they were amazed watching the cast take the set down to when it twigged that the person playing Nurse Nelly was a boy!

Lilt - do NOT buy Snownam and Snowdog - can send it to you on a memory stick and we may have Grandpa around too. Currently tv is being monopolised on channel 125, despite super poor broadcarsting that means we lose it whenever there's a breath of wind! Will check it later... xx

  • Penguin I am 28 too and LOVE it, whether Jelly sits and watches or not!! :D

apple I do heart you lots and lots you know. As if you have Grandpa - really?!?! I miss that film. I would love a memory stick with it on. Let me send you the stick though!!

    Today is the 22nd January.

The Good - friend came over with her two beautiful children, brought amazing amounts of presents, had a lovely time with her and with in-laws when they came too. Work did not get in touch other than 2 ask 2 questions which were not related to the thing I was worrying about and were therefore easily solved and answered by me! :) SOOOO I don't have to go in tomorrow!

The Bad - The supermarkets (plural) were out of lamb leg joints. Two more days to find one

The Ugly - In laws set me loose on the supermarkets while they minded Jelly. I was there for 40 minutes, then FiL picked me up. In that time I spent £145. And I have no gammon joint or leg of lamb...! AND I went to another supermarket afterwards quickly and got £12 of cheese, apple pie & lucozade... eek!!

All in all it has been a manic but lovely day. If I had only gotten the meat I would be able to hibernate for the next week. Will try to get it tomorrow and then rack up my SFD's. Went hopelessly overbudget (about £50 over by the end I think) but you know when you look at your fridge and freezer and the cupboards and just glow inside with the thought of all the amazing food you only have at this time of year? Well I missed that feeling last year due to being tremendously off my food and a little bit heartbroken and confused by Him. So I went for it. I've never had a receipt so long in my life :rotfl:

The presents have now all been delivered to us, including one wrapped like fort knox and about the same size. Jelly's kitchen. She hasn't even realised it is a present it is so big! :rotfl:

Am off to explain to YNAB and read a bit more Mr Money Moustache. I've got some lovely filled fresh pasta friend brought over for dinner with bolognese. I have to make a stew in the slow cooker for overnight & then shall be fed until Christmas really (and way beyond with all this food)

    Night guys xx

Lurker here - sainsbugs had them in in our local store - they're on offer - something like half price at the moment. Maybe try and get to one early in the morning.

Love your diary and love hearing about the little one.
  • dangers Hiii!! Welcome, and thank you!! I went to sainsbugs and there was one lone flat little shoulder on an empty shelf. I asked a very rude woman who ignored my polite excuse me's four times before turning around and saying 'What?!' and she explained to go back in the morning in the hope that the joints would come in overnight. She said to try the much bigger one up on the local industrial park if not. I sense some trekking my my near future.

On a side note: I charmed the pants off her. I like making sales staff who are snotty eat their words and end up being lovely to me. I hope thye feel like total carp after I have shown them just how nice I am and what a rotter they were to be rude to me :rotfl: - kinda like some backwards Pretty Woman. 'Big mistake... HUGE' :D:D:D
