  • Oh Lilty. I hope you found your happy side. :) I think it came here for breakfast - I've sent it back now :)

Glad you've seen the positives to the negatives, yayyy go Lilty. Don't let it get you down. :T I've had another blow and DHs ni is high again. I can't find his payslips at the moment to work out by how much. A bit more decluttering tomorrow and maybe I'll find them. I've also used the CC a bit but I'm not getting down about it - see I'm remaining positive. That's your influence.

Ooh wobbly eyes, I love cutting sticking and all art and papery sort of stuff. Fab! Some of the best stuff comes from the cheap shops and the sales. Though Glitter was my arch nemisis arrrgh!

Hope that computer limps on. As I'm a uni student now I may be able to get you the uni discount. Let me know before you buy.

Have a lovely evening. I am jealous for your ready meal. I just don't feel like cooking tonight. Might be pasta and a glass of wine.

    Sending hugs xx

Apples compression top gave me a giggle. I've had too many chocolate bars lately. :rotfl: so I won't be getting one. :rotfl:

  • Hey guys! I've been reading but had no internet on my holiday (subtle bragging- I admit it!) so couldn't message as it's a pain when my mobile internet only works in the pub toilet!

I'm sorry to hear about the collective bad backs. Do you think that different beds or mattresses would help?

    Love the positivity. x

Peaty - As always you put a massive smile on my face...

However you have been bested by the last hour in Lilt-land. Next door neighbour, of note through the door and squeaky bed fame... is totally trashed. Not the kind of trashed that comes with alcohol either. He is a "glitter" up the nose kinda guy.

He spent more than 10 minutes trying to open my front door with his key. I've a yale, and a mortice and a chain on the door... Trying the yale alone won't help him. Then, when he walked away a few times, got his bearings and made it to his own door... he spent another 20 minutes trying just his own yale lock, forgetting the lock at the bottom, and trying to PULL not push the door open :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - got a video through my spyhole of his attempts. Then he used a few choice words and staggered off outside for a few minutes, came back and basically knelt on the floor with his face against the bottom lock so he could open it, did the top lock eventually and staggered in, leaving the door wide open. :T:T:T

SS - All of my Christmas cards (for family and friends, not work folk who will be getting the year before lasts leftover 50pack cards...) are being handmade by me and jellytot. We have been saving lids from creme fraiche and yoghurts etc (the round clear ones) and we will be creating a snow scene inside them on the front of cards, complete with snowman and snowflakes cut out of paper :D I am very excited as Jellytot is very into her cutting and sticking, so the rest of the card is down to her :D

MY 1000th POST!!!!! I talk too much :o

  • Oh Lilty, that sounds scary. What a state to get in. When we lived in town one of my neighbours had their son come to stay from a drugs hostel or somewhere. Tried to get in my house one summer evening - different colour door, no step etc but was shouting, banging on the door etc as they wouldn't give him a key. DD was petrified, and so was I. I looked out of the side window but he was so out of it he couldn't see I was there. Idiots!

Hope you managed to get off to sleep - it's a bit unsettling.

You don't talk too much Lilty. You are a life saving, super sparkling Missus Motivator.

Sending hugs and hope you have a lot of fun replaying that video.

  • Oh bless you SS, I am sorry you had to go through such a horrid thing. I was highly amused and my door is reinforced with bolts that lock into the wood on the hinge side, so even a running kick would not have let him in. I did though, lock the yale, put the chain on the door, and lock the bottom lock and leave the keys in. So I must have felt a bit worried.

I went out this morning to collect the ball (and the *cough* oven mitt *cough*) that Ellie threw out of the window yesterday (or weeks ago in the oven mitts case - won't explain how horrid it is in the place I have to fetch it from) and there was a bag from the local shop with a frozen pizza and a pint of milk in it outside his door. Obviously no longer frozen and the milk likely curdled. What a life... What a loser.

Slept fine after MOTD and ice cream :D and of course with my nice knock out pills which also increase appetite. Explains a lot.

I have done my maths. My total money lost is £384 every four weeks. Needless to say that is a lot of money to find. Since that is what I will be forced to live on from the payment after next I am taking a leaf out of lovely Gibbys book and am going to put away the surplus into savings as if it didn't exist on the 2nd October when it comes in. The first payment is always large. I refuse to dip into it just because it is there. I have to find a way to live and still save each month. I can 'live' off what I am left with but I can't save and that stresses me out, so I need to find a way to make sure I can save at least my regular saver 'bill' and a tiny bit besides. Start as I mean to go on.

So I have finished my YNAB after putting it off endlessly. It is unhappy with me. But never mind. £50.50 out of it's £75 unhappiness was train tickets home to see mum in October. Tomorrow I get a little child benefit payment in, which I usually put away for Jelly but I am going to have to use it this month. And then all will be well.

Need to get all of Christmas completely wrapped up for everyone home before I go back in OCTOBER (23RD) - No pressure eh? - want to make sure I don't overspend just because I am rushing!

Off to plan my presents, and the next week or mores meals properly. :D got to get into a habit doing that on a Sunday!

Seeya later guys!! Am closing MSE to stop me procrastinating :rotfl:

Thanks Lilty. Glad you slept okay.

Hope you a getting on with loads. I am getting somewhere today. Got to pop to Mr Ls soon and maybe Mr T and Mr A as DD wants some grinder facewash and I want to get it on special offer.

House is feeling more together, just like me :D

ps. Meant to say I too am in that position. Can survive, just. But savings will be hard to come by and I will probably have to eat into the safety fund for some large spends shortly. (I'd better get on with my job apps).

  • Your neighbour is ridiculous lilt- does he not understand that there are kids in the building? Glad you found it funny though. Once, at uni, I had a friend who decided to pay me a visit on a saturday... at midnight... by screaming my name all over the street I lived down. Turned out that he didn't remember where I lived. I hissed at him to get in the house where he promptly stole my (home made) cake and left. The next day he called and told me how upset he was that his mate stole the cake from him after he left my house! My poor neighbours. They were mostly students, but one was a guy in his 70's. I made him a cake. Every story needs a happy/cakey ending.

What type of jobs are you applying for SS? We should be application buddies

I don't know if you guys have read the richest man in bablyon but I thought you would like the savings thing. It's very primitive in its look on saving and how you can afford it but interesting all the same.
  • Don't forget your appointment tomorrow Lilt. Xx

  • Oh my gosh I love you Lucky. I remembered at some point today. It was when I emptied the hoover out and the little bit of paper with my appointment on it fluttered away. Not climbing into the bin to fetch that!

    11:40 - I have an alarm.. :D - Flu jab :(

What the hecky Joseph is 'grinder facewash' when it's at home SS????

Peaty it is a testament to your cake :D so funny!!!!! I opened the richest man in babylon on my phone earlier but it looks like one for the laptop! Thanks for the link!

I ironed alllll of Jellytots clothes, washed and dried 2 loads of washing, including mine and the cheebies bedding. I even ironed the sheets going back on to our beds. Anyone got a thermometer? I may be poorly...

I also batch cooked. Lots of sausages, mash, and caramelised onion gravy was eaten. I made a meat base that will lend its hand to anything. Basically beef mince, onion, garlic and a beef stock cube, with the same volume of cooked red lentils. Served into portion sized containers ready to become Cottage Pie, Bolognese, Chilli, Stuffed Marrow (they are hanging on in there in my fridge!) and anything else mince related!

Tomorrow need to take Jellytot to nursery, do some shopping then get myself home and spruce the place up, shower and get ready for my appt, Him is picking Jellytot up from nursery as the times clash between my appt and collection. I can't rely on the docs being on time. Hopefully he will stick around which will allow me more batch cooking time - am currently soaking beans and lentils for a broth. I've no veg apart from a red onion and 2 marrows so definitely shopping!! :D

Jelly is choking lots in her sleep :( nasty cough mainly due to so much mucus running down her throat. Can't believe they don't allow kids a medicine that dries that up these days.

Off to talk to my YNAB and my Christmas list! I made a card today and I am so ridiculously pleased with it! Where's Apple? She shall be the receiver of this card since she helped fund it!! Is it a bit weird sending Xmas cards in September? Maybe I will wait til Weds and send it in October... :rotfl:

  • I'm here!! (would i sert waving smilie but smilies not cooperating!). Would be honoured to receive the card! Second class post, mind...

I've already got dd's advent calendar - a frozen one - from £1land. She's taken the cellophane off it and sleeps with it at the head of her bed! And she tells people that mummy bought her a BRAND NEW advent calendar.

I'll also be making her a fabric one at some point...

Off to move her to her own bed and go to sleep myself xx
