Hey girls.
Not good news at all. Technically I could request that the money he owed me be placed into my bank account. I agreed a tiny sum with him compared to what I have put in but I wouldn't ever take more than that. Conversation with colleague was that basically I could request the money he owed me from the sale without ever speaking to him via the sale process and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it... except hunt me down and actually do me serious harm. We won't go there but those last 6 months were quite violent. He broke a lot of my stuff. Luckily knew better than to touch me because I would have smashed him - but now I have my Jelly to think about and so I will sign whatever paperwork comes approved via my solicitor, send it back the same way and never speak to or of him again. I've learnt my lesson. Don't buy houses with crazy people and don't agree to leave without a signature.
So my iPhone is stuck. Pics cannot be taken off. I've done a back up to the PC but can't find it. So can't put it on the external hard drive. Looks like apple don't allow phones to switch across to new libraries without removing everything.. Silly. We can't control whether it breaks or not... 2300 pics currently in limbo. 14gb of data so not exactly emailable. I am hoping it is either my new cable (trying colleagues genuine cable tomorrow) or the new apple update that has messed it up.
Baby steps.. *coaxes poorly laptop along to bed*

Ooh nasty. Glad you got out intact. Yes, don't poke a snake with a stick, it's never worth it. Why would you want to give him a reason to get you on his radar again (even though inside I'm saying get that money). That's why I left my job without causing a fuss. I'm going onto better things, just as you have and it will be entirely you that got you there, conscious clear. XOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Sounds like a scary situation - glad you're well away from it now! And I guess money or no money at least once that final signature's done you're done with it all for good.
Poor iPhone! I was going to say pop by an Apple store as they must have a way to retrieve the data but silly me they probably charge a fortune for the service!
Can you sign up for dropbox/google drive and download the app to your phone then upload the pics via WIFI? You shouldn't need your computer for that and Dropbox gives a decent amount of space free. Then you'd be able to download the pics onto another computer or back onto the phone at a later date.0 -
Just popping in to say Hi and have a lovely weekend. Hope you get your phone and computer sorted soon I am really missing you, and Gib seems to have gone quiet - are you two up to something :rotfl::D
Anyways have a lovely weekend - you and Gib have really helped to sort me out. I feel so positive today - yayyy. You've gradually chipped onto my confidence (as opposed to chipped away). Thank you one and all.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

I bought a 'compression top' from aldee, for cycling. When I got home, I tried it on and burst out laughing!
It was like wearing a body sock that was 2 sizes too small and embarrassing to be seen in! The sort of thing a 6-pack would look good in, but not my belly!
It made me think of our cheerleader outfits as we cheer you on - if we wore 'compression' clothing you'd be snorting everything everywhere! And that'd be before we got going on the raaraa skirts and pompoms !!
Hope you guys are doing ok xNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I love you all!! Apple, bizarre timing on the compression top!! Mumsie has found that they really help her with the pain at the moment, so she is sporting a Michelin style :rotfl: in the name of feeling better!
SS Scouts honour I am not (sadly) up to something with Gib! I'm not sure where she is at, but as far as I know her mum is a bit better so fingers crossed she is having a dirty birthday weekend with hubby...
I am very glad that we have been chipping ONTO your confidence!! You deserve to feel confident. You, like so many people who write in or LURK in my diary (I see youuuuuuuuuu) are fantastic! And an inspiration to me every day.
Soooo. I managed to use my work PC and external hard drive to steal the photos off my phone. Now the only thing I need to make sure I have elsewhere are my notes... The really important ones like my chinese takeaway order numbers... :rotfl: and my pin numbers  and then I need to actually get a new laptop...
I did it. I bought it and everything... and then I got an email to say that there was a problem with my credit card.. Yep you guessed it. The mystery shop card has FINALLY been cancelled, but only a couple of days ago.. of course. And thus I cancelled my order, rang the Hal!fax who told me that there was going to be a month wait after my next statement is produced for it to be removed from my credit history... So I can't apply for another...
Silver linings? Not long after I cancelled the £780  laptop... a letter dropped through the door to tell me that my HB income has dropped from £41 to 50p per week. Yep seriously. So I have currently dropped £220 and £164 every 4 weeks in income. It will go up.. in April, for the next tax year.
So here is my desperate plea to my current laptop... please, please survive long enough that I can keep YNAB running and get on MSE. I need these two things now more than ever...
And Gibby if you are out there talking about how you haven't started as you meant to go on? I spent £20 in Mr S this afternoonon some more stuff for Jellys drawing... Reduced from £5.99 to 89p
and construction paper in all colours... and wobbly eyes. All much cheaper now the kids are back at school... But also ready meals
and Basics Garlic Bread...
and ice cream
need I go on? We all do it. It is the gettign up, dusting your knees off, telling the budget you're a bit silly... and moving on from there.
My main concern now is still managing to save... something each month. In January my regular saver will kick out, and I will consider my laptop then. I worked hard for that money. Also my lovely mumma has spread the word to anyone thinking of getting me a gift, that money towards this lushly Apple product would be muchos fabby.
Sorry I haven't been here. I have been struggling to find my happy side today.
Positives:
* At least I hadn't already committed to a massive payment before I got the bad news
* I have a nice cushion of savings
* I was smart enough to not increase my outgoings to match my income when I had Jelly & got flush
* My daughter is a beaut and currently eating a piece of dark chocolate very decorously whilst singing the swashbuckle theme..
* I've got a ready meal for dinner on a day when my back is so bad my legs feel weak
* I have had a positive effect on TWO people this week. Worth it's weight in gold
Lots of love xx

Lilt, your positivity is SO fantastic it makes me feel better to read along and see how upbeat you stay while handling things.
Must admit I'm a little jealous of Jelly's chocolate!0 -
Hi Lilt and every one else - sorry to hear of the reductions you are facing that is rather drastic - is it to do with him moving back in! Also electronic wizardry with phone and laptop not fun either. But as you always do you look on the bright side of life and give us all a boost. I have been suffering with a bad back for a week or more. Not sure if it is something to do with chair and desk at new job, but there is not much I can do about its position and don't want them thinking I am a moans old cow but I have been in agony. Am going for a back massage next week with a guy who works wonders on my back so am hoping that he will make it right. But that said ithe pain will be back after a few days if it is the position I am sitting in!!! Dilemma!! Anyway hope everyone is having a good weekend. Have been to a Macmillan Coffee Morning today, bought a wedding present, made a few phone calls, did shopping, washing and ironing so now sitting with feet up.
Take care all of you xxx:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0 -
Hello Belle & Billie
Thank you for popping in guys! I have to admit to not feeling that positive today. I am avoiding facing up to my YNAB today which is part of what is dragging me down. The not knowing... I am sure it will be fine. Just a little dent in my emergency fund briefly.
It is not even to do with Him moving back in Billie... The scary thing is, we put that back, for various reasons, his own savings being a big part of it... So he won't actually be moving back in yet. We will just continue as we are, with him here Weds morning to late on a Friday evening. This is purely down to telling both agencies that Jellytots nursery fees are covered. The problem is that HMRC is very black and white. If you need a service, you better need it until April! If you change before April, your payment decrease is backdated all the way to last April. Faintly ridiculous. It then means that you have had more than your 'allowed' amount in advance and so the remaining (6 for me) payments are actually lower than they should be to make up for you having more across the last 6 months. It is good in that it will go up by £40 next April, but meanwhile it is tight! HB was always an 'extra' so I am not too worried about that. Just peeved that I filled out 40 pages of paperwork, gave them my shoe size and everything else, for 50p a week... >< Lol
Billie you have the hugest sympathy from me for your back! Most of my problems now stem purely from sitting at work. I have had a physio in to work to assess my workstation, a new chair, new keyboard and mouse, had my screen and phone and trays all moved around.. a foot rest... And still I am in screaming agony and popping the strongest codeine like sweets. At home after it has calmed down I barely have to take anything! I would advise you go to the doctors. They can either give you physio, pain relief, or a trip to a specialist like I had. I had an MRI scan too. It all helps them pinpoint what is best to do!
Your Saturday sounds like it started lovely and ended up very busy! I have done similar although the washing mountain still sits there eyeballing me as I type.. :rotfl:
I am now sat with my laptop and i WILL do my BUDGET! The end xx
