    Hi lilt,
Don't think I've commented before but I've really enjoyed reading your diary and think you're doing brilliantly (and your little girl is so adorable).
Looking forward to keeping up with things and great news about the holiday!

    3. I had another spend free day courtesy of my daddy giving me £5 for chocolate and my mum coming to the shop and paying! So I got chocolate and £5 ;)

When I was at Uni, this was just the greatest thing about my parents visiting! Not that I didn't love seeing them but chocolate!

Have you looked around your flat? My parents used to hide a present in my things, once it was play doh :rotfl:

I hope you have a wonderful time with your parents!

Hahahah! That is brilliant Peaty! My mum and dad bought me a me to you bear which is holding a blanket and says something about hugs. They both spent half a day 'filling it up' with repeated hugs and squeezes for me to snuggle whenever. Sometimes I discover that he is hugging £10 notes after they have left lol.

Yesterday was lovely, had a nice dinner for mums birthday and then a lovely long walk in the evening as a family with jellytot playing up to all the attention.

Today I got my dad to fit my new oven, then we went to Ald! which is miles away from me and costs a prohibitive amount by bus. I had a mooch but in reality I am a quite low key person, so prosecco and pate wasn't for me, and I got some fly spray, sweetener and bleach amongst a few other bits of good value. :rotfl: Those were the only things I really liked the look of. We didn't spend much time in there, then went home briefly before mum and dad took jelly out to play in the water fountains on the harbour so that I could get my washing pegged out and vacuum etc.

I got all that done, and the landlord who was so chuffed not to spend out on an electrician to fit my new oven (really, we slid it into the hole, put two screws in and plugged the plug in man!) that he whizzed over to take the old one away which was a great relief after spending a week with an oven in my bedroom!

After jelly came home, she had a bit of dinner then went to bed at 6:20 exhausted and went straight to sleep! She should sleep til 7am which will be fine for getting up for nursery tomorrow.

I am off to bedski. Very tired lilt. Night all! xxx

Just a flying visit - how cute are your parents and the bear? :D Sounds all very positive. If only our landlords were that on the ball. Our oven is just about the only thing in the house they provided (we rent unfurnished). So far the thermocouple on the grill has gone and the oven door sometimes just wedges itself half open, half closed. This is particularly rage inducing whilst baking. No fear they would replace it though. From what I can gather they're investor landlords with lots of properties, and whilst they're not bad they're not exactly brilliant either.

I suspect replacing the thermocouple would be an easyish job but it's gas, and I am scared to mess with anything to do with gas appliances!

Hohum, I would get furious if that happened when I was baking. >.<

Lilt, your parents are so sweet!

OH my, I totally missed your post up there giblet!! I do hope you're still lurking! Thank you very much for popping in! I hope to keep you entertained ;)

How about a couple of pics of the little un to start us off tonight? Firstly, strolling in new sparkly shoes and next up in full tantrum mode... :rotfl: I love this child!

Mum and dad left today. It has been lovely to see them, and a lot less pressured than previous times where they have camped out in my tiny flat, or eaten with us every night which has seen my groceries bill shoot high, and my wastage also shoot high. I have to say it is nice to relax though. Jellytot was lovely at nursery apparently, but went through 3 sets of clothes there. After spending my afternoon hand washing and scrubbing a cream cardigan and matching cream t shirt that somehow got splattered with kids spaghetti bolognese without even being worn(?!?!?!) not to mention the lovely coral jumper that got pelted top to bottom at the front with seagull poo on the walk to nursery this morning (Half :rotfl: and half  moment... It was Jellytot's jumper, and she was wearing it!) - I wasn't too pleased to see my washing pile mount back up, but apparently she had a great time soaking herself from top to bottom repeatedly! :)

Work for only the afternoon tomorrow. I don't have to be there until 1:15! That feels lovely, but I have to be at the new nursery for 10am, and no chance of a lie in with madam!

Have done my YNAB and discovered I have £10.91 left to last til the end of July. Not as scary as it sounds. I have more money than that, but it is earmarked for bills coming out between now and then, and some Clarks shoes that have arrived at the store today. I have to buy precisely £6.20 worth of groceries between now and then. So all good really barring major disasters! It actually means I have managed to cover over £200 of June overspends, £160 large unexpected bill for annual line rental I just signed up for & a bill that comes out on payday which I usually pay off with the next months wages, but have done so with this months instead. Which means I paid it twice this month! Next month should be a breeze, but I have to pay for the YNAB software. $60.. yes dollars. So around £35? ouchies! Worth it though. I will own it outright forever and ever...

Off to do a couple bits of ironing and make a hot chocolate. Night all! xx

Hi - hope that you don't mind me popping in. I bought YNAB but managed to find a 10% discount code. Can't remember where I found it but it's worth hunting around for it.

What a gorgeous little girl. You are very lucky and she is lucky to have such a lovely mum.

I've seen the YNAB discount too. Haven't tried the trial yet as I'm fairly skintight at mo. However everyone seems to think it's great.

    :)

ps I remember DD at nursery. I swear all the spaghetti and tomatoey things have a special orange dye in them. Every white or cream top had stains only shiftable with bleach - or dye them orange :rotfl:
