    Sounds fab. Yum.

Following along but mainly lurking while I get settled in my new job.

Don't forget to make the limp veg into a delicious soup. It's a really good way to use it all up and always tastes delish!

Wow fab. I never thought of that. I usually pop them in a tomato sauce or they go in the bin. I will freeze them next time. Sorry Liltdiddy flip or hijacking your thread. :o

    Ahoy!!

The things you can do with wonky veg, who knew?! :rotfl: - thank you for popping in Dawny & SS. I will try out both ideas. Tonight I opted to bang a whole pack of baby sweetcorn and a huge bag of tenderstem broccoli into my balti. Means there are 4 portions instead of just 2 if you follow the recipe! And I get some veg in me ;)

    Good things for this week:

    1. I am having a brand new oven delivered tomorrow. Landlord says it is black glass, has a clock display, a beaut grill and loads of settings. I am mainly excited for being able to use the grill, and having a LIGHT inside the oven so you can peek in and see the food! Not had a light in current one in months, possibly years.
    2. Jellytot has her 2 year check up booked in for the 1st August. Get to show her off to the health visitor as she is talking SO much, and so good with everything she is a delight right now.
    3. We are going to view an 'outstanding' ofsted nursery which has places available for Jelly in September and will take her funding for 15 free hours next Weds. Need to remember to take her funding card and her birth certificate and it can all be sorted out then. It's attached to the local school so I am very excited!
    4. Above, curry was delicious and will just need heating up tomorrow which is lovely and easy!
    5. I had a spend free day which makes 9 for the month, and can hopefully bring that up to 11 by the end of Friday!
    6. Yesterday I finally got the whole my YNAB set up and working. I am so excited to get to the end of the month. I can already see the places where this is going to help me SO much! When I had a much more basic app on my phone in my debt days, I did the same and managed to get rid of my debt in the space of a few months!

    Bad things:
    1. Work has yet again been stressful and pants. I got rude emails, my colleague was exceptionally patronising and I am expecting that even though I sent a HUGE 20 point email to my boss where I hard recorded my every job for the day (including the 5 tasks she set me) I will likely come in to a snotty email tomorrow.
    2. Found out that Jellytots current nursery did not feed her her lunch yesterday. They also didn't bother to give her her bottle of juice. She was there from 8:30 to 5:15... WHAT is that about?! I can only assume that they fed her nursery food and gave her juice and snacks themselves, but I explicitly told them her lunch bag was in her main bag and would need putting in the fridge as I left her! She also yet again came home with a sore bum tonight. Every week she goes there with endless clean nappies, nappy cream and e45. Sometimes she comes home with skid marks in an otherwise clean nappy where she hasn't been cleaned properly. It is upsetting to me. :(

I am going to get myself a soya hot chocolate with a squirt of caramel syrup and get myself to bed for the night. I am super tired. Not sleeping great and Jelly wakes me up early at the minute.

I'm not surprised you are upset about Jelly at the current nursery. Have you spoken to the manager? obviously mistakes happen and there will be the odd occasion when she wriggles about too much or is upset so it is difficult to clean her properly - but i would expect that to be detailed to me when it happened, and for that to be rare- and the sore bum issue - mine were allergic to wipes including hypoallergenic ones) and had to use cotton wool and water it was immediately apparent when someone had cut corners and used a wet-wipe for simplicity and I was very firm (polite, but firm) it should not happen again - and the manager backed me 100%.

hope things are better today :)

Agree with lobbyludd. You are doing a great job at home and work. I hope you get the respect you deserve at work tomorrow. Some people just look for problems where there are none, you deserve better.

Yayy to the new nursery in sept and a new cooker :):)

Sending hugs and fairy dust to protect you from the negative vibes. :A

  • I would be livid with the nursery and you have every right to be upset. You leave your most precious possession with them and pay them for the priviledge, the least they could do is treat her with the manner you both deserve Xx

    Hello everyone.

Thank you so much for popping in and backing me up on the nursery point. I spoke to a colleague and she told me at the nursery that she sends her son to, he is never given enough juice and she thinks it is to stop the children wetting their nappies as much and needing a change, or needing a toilet break as often!

It is complicated but her funding pays for 15 hours. She usually goes 8:30 to 5 on a Tuesday allowing me 1 non-working day of the week where I can get all the cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing, getting ready for work, and a teeny bit of relaxing in! New nursery is term times only (as is funding) and also 9-3, which cuts 2.5 hours from my 'day off'. So there is another nursery near to both the current ones, which does long hours and also takes funding for 2 year olds. I could put her for her remaining funded hours in there and top up the rest myself. Yet to decide.

Work today was better-ish. Mainly because little miss patronising had a holiday day. Got called into meeting with bosses, where they had many a discussion with me regarding ex colleagues, current colleagues, new job and how I am getting on.. and me talking too much to the others. So I went downstairs to sit quietly and work, as they acknowledged that I am perfectly capable of working whilst I have the occasional chat, but my colleagues cannot. And first one, then another, then another comes over to chat to me, whilst the one sitting next to me keeps on talking to me. So, is it me?! Hahaha. Good news is, bosses think I am doing excellently in my new role but apparently never doubted me, and I am showing up my university educated and exam trained colleague. :D

Good points for yesterday and today as I wasn't here yesterday for good reason:

    1. I came out of work 15 minutes late, to a familiar looking car sat parked outside. I looked again. It was my parents!!! 2 days earlier than planned, totally out of the blue. They got a brilliant deal on their hotel (they live 250 miles away & my tiny flat cannot accommodate them, me, and jellytot) and so came 2 nights early for the same price, and even got breakfast included! How MSE of them.
    2. We took Jelly out up The Leas walking and riding an electric trike. She did not get the hang of the trike being electric and pushed around with her feet but loved every second and my parents faces were a joy to watch, as was hers at being with them.
    3. I had another spend free day courtesy of my daddy giving me £5 for chocolate and my mum coming to the shop and paying! So I got chocolate and £5 ;)
    4. I had 2 half days holiday approved in the near future for Jelly related appointments, and realised I have 9 days holiday to take. Since I work 3 days, this is 3 weeks. But 3 weeks off = 11 days per 'week' for me. So I have 33 days to take off between now and November :rotfl: And I can't have any of September off as people have booked the entire month off!

Did I also mention that work are giving us extra time off because of the way Christmas falls. This means that I will end up off work for 19 days! I finish on the 19th and come back on the 5th! LOL.

I'm a happy bean today :D Huge for you all! xx
