  • Bah to Snius infections.... Hate them with a passion!

Do you do the whole bread making process from scratch, or do the dough in a breadmaker? I've so far only made around 8 loaves and all done entirely in the breadmaker but wondered about just doing the dough and then baking myself.

I've also stashed your melting moments recipe and intend on making those at some point, mine always seem to turn out as flat as a pancake so we will see how I go with your recipe.

I dread the day when little dude can climb in and out of th bath, he loves that bath and would live in there if given half the chance. I've just had to get some reins for him as he won't let me carry him anymore and *must* walk and run off!! I don't really like them as feel ike I'm putting him on a lead but if it stops themelt down because he wants to walk then I'll give it a go.

  • oh feel better soon sounds really rubbish and jelly sounds like something I did once when I was little...

I was painting whilst my mum looked after my 3 week old brother. I managed to get paint everywhere so thought I would help and clean myself. However, in the bathroom (with silly cream carpets!!) I managed to get the whole bottle of Matey (blue!) on myself and then climb in the bath. However, couldnt switch taps on so just carried on mixing up cleaning items such as soap and shampoo until mum found me...

I do feel bad about that over twenty years later! I was only 3 though! x

  • Hope you have had a successful trip to the Docs and got the medicine you need.

    October xx
  • Hello guys!!

I didn't ring the doctors. I woke up with a much clearer head, and (TMI sorry) the right coloured snot and was able to blow my nose properly and the side of my face has gone down again so all of the sinus stuff has obviously cleared itself up with the help of olbas, steam etc. Cough also much better today!! So I thought I would see how it goes rather than brave the crowds on a Monday morning in the doctors, and if I still think I might need a bit of help I will go tomorrow.

Instead I took Jelly to nursery, spent £70 in Mr L (whoops! But now I have a lovely laptop lap stand!) and came home, sorted the cupboards so I could pack them, defrosted the freezer with a hairdryer (yup seriously) so that I could fit in 2kg of chicken breasts bagged separately :rotfl: - It really did make all the difference!! Landlord and his cheap fridge-freezer! And then marinaded the meat for tonights chicken and chickpea curry. Got lots of kale and will have that with rice and curry for dinner! :D nom!

This afternoon I have vacuumed and stripped and remade my bed. Will do Jellys later on in the week as she will be taking her duvet etc to MiL for dreaded visit soon.

Must dash to pick her up. TTYL!! xx

The day in bed was highly beneficial to combat poorliness (necessity, not laziness of course!). If you can fit one, they are definitely recommended :)

    Hope you're feeling better xx

Having the right coloured snot is vital! Glad you felt you could skip the doc. Must admit that when I get sinusy things - and I'm prone to them - then I avoid bananas, oranges, dairy (except pl yog) and sugar. And in the pre-coeliac days, bread too! Yep, BREAD! And I also fill myself with green veggies and about 4 litres of water. Helps if it's not a work day... :D

  • October :rotfl: that way I only have to turn it off for about 10 minutes ;) I sit on the floor, with a baking tray under the freezer, blowdrying away, surrounded by frozen peas and things :rotfl: glad it isn't just me!!! xx

Sholly tomorrow I plan to take Jelly to nursery all being well (explain later) and then spend the day snuggled up in bed catching up on diaries and playing with YNAb and reading the daily mail site ;) Does that count?! ;)

apple vital indeed. It has gone a bit funny again tonight but I am attacking it the same way and hoping it comes ok!!

Now to answer some of the above!! HarrysMummy I actually do it completely from scratch start to finish. Hence my being impressed with myself as previously my sister bought me a bread maker and I used that and still complained it wasn't right, took too long, didn't taste s good as my lovely Warburtons etc and hid it away. Now that I am doing it myself, I am seeing the benefits. I think you could get the machine to mix it and then just hand knead it afterwards for a couple of minutes then bang it in the oven. To be honest I find it is a 10 minute job as I throw all the ingredients in, mix with a spoon until it is doughy, and then whack it onto a heavily floured chopping board and knead away. I listen to music and do it in the evenings. The smell of fresh bread is amazing and a real treat to go to sleep with. I don't have the discipline to wake up and put a loaf in the oven if I let it prove overnight for instance. I also (possibly critically and possibly cheating...) use the easy bake yeast!! No mixing with water and frothing it up etc!! I do have that one too, but I thought as it was my first attempt I would go with the easy one first ;) takes 35-45 minutes to prove!!

BrightSpark LMAO I have extreme sympathy for your poor mum right now!! I know you were only trying to put it right, just as she was only interested in cleaning her hands, and just as she was only trying to copy mummy when she used my £5 roll on deodorant to douse her baby grow underarms, and then inexplicably her chin... :rotfl: no sweaty chins in this house!!! ;)

Sashybo you were up late!!! x

BILLIE All good... but Jelly is another story. I am currently waiting fir a callback from the doctors surgery out of hours in order to go and collect a prescription of antibiotics and rush it down to the late hours pharmacy. Jelly has a UTI :( very obviously. I thought this a few days ago and think I posted on Lucky's diary. It did react better to canesten over the last couple of days but now she is in agony every time she needs a wee bless her. So hopefully I don't have to drag her out of bed over to the out of hours. and can just ask my neighbour to sit and watch tv while I run out.

Off to eat my chicken and chickpea korma finally. TTYL xx

  • Aw bless Jelly's little cottons. Nothing worse than a UTI, hope it all works out ok with the out of hours doc and the script.

    Thinking of you both Xx
