Lilt! I am so sorry that I have been missing...again! I am terrible at keeping up with MSE. I have caught up on the 20 pages that I've missed(!) and I'm back up to date!

The pics of Jelly are so cute! She's gorgeous! And the pics of your little family are lovely too. It sounds like you've had a lovely festive period, minus all of the germs of course. I'm thinking of you, Jelly and your mum and sending you all "get well soon" wishes.

Now to update my diary and sig...goodness!

    Sholly x

p.s. I am also in Newcastle so when that lotto win comes in, 2 birds 1 stone and all that :rotfl: Talking of Newcastle, the conversation about The Geordie Floozy earlier made me laugh (not the situation, just her new title), I would also like to offer sincere apologies for her horrible geordie behaviour.
  • Well I've had a poorly little boy today so since he's been asleep on me most of the day and wouldn't let me move I have, read your entire diary!!!

Very inspiring! What fun you and jelly have baking and making play dough. I cant wait till little dude is a bit older and we can get to do all these things.

I have now subscribed and look forward to reading the rest of your journey. .

  • Hello Sholly!!! Welcome back! I hope you brought dead fly biscuits with you because I have run out again ;) I'm sure there was a packet next to the bed earlier... :rotfl: 20 pages!!! I keep saying I talk far too much :D

Thanks for the lovely compliments! We did have a lovely Christmas. Far less forced joviality and pretending to be ok than last year ;) of course my caravan will be heading your way *when* that lottery win comes in. However it won't be won if I forget to put it on like tonight :o

HarrysMummy I'm so sorry you've had a poorly wee fella today. Hope he feels better soon and you get a decent nights sleep after all the snoozing on you. Jelly has been much the same today once the grandparents deposited her after feeding her a sausage at 3pm in the freezing cold outside and bringing her back where she quickly developed a temperature and lay on the sofa not moving until she fell asleep :( poor monkey.

Love the baking and making play doh. The fact that she calls cookie mix 'fingers out' as she innocently sneaks lumps into her mouth has me in stitches every time!

So whats happened in my world?

The nasty germs have got me *fakes a scream and swoon* and to be honest, it is not nice but it is more irritating putting my back out sneezing and coughing than the actual sneezing etc. I have started to sound like a 40 a day smoker now so I should probably go to sleep with a hot lemon and honey in me.

Have caught up with YNAB and every receipt added and confirmed. Budgets looking a bit red in places but by pence here and there, and in reality I have got just over £650 waiting to be applied to the budget so it is fine. Just the wrong month :o:o

Have £4400 in various savings... after spending £1k on a mac... not bad at all!! Almost feeling like I have an emergency cushion if anything goes wrong, but of course so much is locked away for a year and the rest is split between Jelly, emergency fund etc.

Really need to drink a pint or so of water before bed. Very thirsty and dehydrated feeling. Just swilled my mouth out and gargled salt water, feel a bit better for that. May crack out the disgusting dioralytes in the morning.

    Tomorrows to do list:
    - Shopping at Mr L sans Jelly as lovely neighbour will have her to play with the dog known as 'Brossom'
    - Find Halifocks paperwork and reinstate online banking after my iPhone switch to the mac killed all my internet banking.
    - Use plastic wallets creatively 'borrowed' from the store of several thousand at work, with some white labels to create a proper filing system in there. One file with 'bank' does not really cover the mortgage, 3 credit cards and 5 banks worth of paperwork I have thus far.
    - Help Jelly with some reading and writing her numbers
    - BATCH COOK soooooo much food

Hugs all and night night. :) xx

  • Wow you have a busy day ahead of you. I think I need to start focusing on things to improve my life and make me feel accomplished rather than keep getting upset over my OH's actions.

I like the way you are with HIM. You are totally independant and he is an addition to your life not your whole life. I need to do that. I tend to lose myself when I start seeing someone.

Thank you for inspiring me Lilt and I hope you get all your chores done and enjoy your time with Jelly.

    Feel better.

    October xx
  • I did not get all my chores done! :(:o

I don't feel very well. I have spent most of the day dealing with a nasty cough and one Jellytot meltdown after another. This morning I got up, scrubbed the kitchen to within an inch of its life, emptied the fridge and scrubbed all that out then put the stuff back in a different order. Suddenly I can see everything easily and it works better. However there is 1 egg, 2 pints of milk, a litre of soya milk, a small block of cheese, 7 tubs of margarine (I kid you not) a dozen jars of various condiment type things, 2 peppers, one and a half courgettes, a cucumber and some leeks. And now some chopped peppers in a tub and the remainder of the pasta sauce I made earlier in another tub. Meh...

Everything else on the list stays unfinished apart from the sorting of my filing system. All perfectly separated and labelled as to what is inside. Still forgot to get the info from the Halifocks paperwork I need though so need to drag it out again.

Tonight in order that I don't go out spending tomorrow, I will make a loaf of bread and some soup. (With what I hear you cry!!) - Red lentils, pepper and tomato with a kick of paprika ;) Need to start stacking up inside the freezer again :)

Jelly has been a horror today. Throwing one epic tantrum after another. I know she doesn't feel well but neither do I! She has eaten well though which is a great sign as I packed her full of vitamins in the pasta sauce I made :)

Off to go do the pots and then make bread :) xx

Lilty don't beat yourself up for not getting you list completed. Like you have said you are not feeling great, have not had a healthy start to the year and maybe need a few lazy days just to recharge. All your posts are so inspirational and always make me think I have to do more with my time when at home. I have defrosted my kitchen freezer and will sort out the ones in the garage tomorrow. ,add a tuna bake, not very successfully, but it tasted okay. Shopped in A..i . Hope the sun shines tomorrow as it makes me want to get in and do things. Hope that little darling Jelly has a good nights sleep, and you, and that tomorrow is better for you both. But if it isn't so be it remember you have the nursery days whilst you are off to recharge xxx

  • I still think you are awesome, even if you didn't get through your list. I'm also not feeling great tonight, I think our wonderful children may have been overly generous with their germs :(.
