Lilt and Jellytots most excellent adventure...

Inadvertently answered your question then October :rotfl: we cross posted... I had an expensive BM years ago. I found the bread was heavy no matter what I did. Sure its easy to chuck the ingredients in the top, press a few buttons and shut the lid... but it does not compare in the slightest to this! And it takes up a LOT of cupboard space when you get disappointed after the 3rd try and put it under the kitchen sink... Lol
sashybo I am actually still in my pyjamasmaking the most of it! But I think if I were I would be covered in the glitter and holding the balloons strategically

Hi Lilt, sounds as though you have had lots of fun with jelly today.
Are the carrots for the soup, If so don't peel them just give them a good wash and dice up, once they are blitzed in the soup you can't tell, don't make extra work for yourself!

So... the other night, I did not get around to making the carrot and coriander soup. I did though, accidentally leave the bag of carrots out on the side in the kitchen. With Jellytot gatecrashing my bed, snoring and taking up SO much space, I spent half the night awake and every time I woke up, remembered the carrots, panicked that they were YS and might go funny out of the fridge, couldn't be bothered to get up, dropped off again, then repeated. I spoke to my mum the next day and unprompted she said 'I had the weirdest dream yesterday! I dreamt that I had turned the light on in my sleep, so I woke up to check, (as you do :rotfl:) and I was on my hands and knees searching the bed for the mouldy carrots that I had been dreaming about!'
I was a bit gobsmackedand I was like... they were MY carrots!!! :rotfl:
So what has been happening today? Lazy day. Took Jelly for nursery and when I came out from dropping her off, where she was going to spend the day with a duck called Dave (seriously a real live duck) it started to snail. You know... snow hail. Before I got home the streets were white over! Roads included. So I prolonged my walk a bit and had a poodle round, and then came home and ignored the pots and the housework in favour of lying in bed. My back hasn't been my friend since walking half a mile carrying Jelly to nursery yesterday, then doing the 5 mile round trip to work and back, sitting in a boardroom chair for an hour and a half training in the in-between time. On the plus side I earned 2.5 hours of time off at a later point when I need it, which I think I will use next Friday as MiL is taking Jelly home with her and Him and I are having a date that Friday night. I might even go to the cinema and stay in the hotel nearby. Haven't decided yet. In April it will be my 6 year anniversary since we got together. Today is the day that we first met online 6 years ago. March 21st is the first time we ever met in person, and in June it will be 6 years since I moved down here permanently. Been a bit of a roller coaster and I am not sure with all the time-out it can be classed as a proper anniversary so I am just going to use next Friday night to *mark it* in some way to myself
Picked Jelly up from nursery and she has been a lot better in herself today but her cough is horrifying. She has coughed all the way home and ever since. I've doped her to the eyeballs and given her tixylix. I also decided spur of the moment to put her slide away and get her tent out. She dragged all the stuff off her bed inside and is lying down watching cbeebies through the peephole quietly, occasionally coughing. This is how I know she is not well. My child barely stays still long enough to get a photo taken. Last night she got in bed with me at about this time and went to sleep with me for a bit. I am thinking she might do the same in her tent now. Every little helps. Nursery have a strict no illness policy but they don't seem to mind coughs and colds as long as the kids haven't got a temperature. Quite good as annoying as it is, it all helps build the immune system. UPDATE: she is asleep!! :j
I am off to make her some kind of ham, tomato and pasta concoction. Managed to get her to eat porridge this morning, and she appears to have eaten her lunch so if I can get her dinner down her I will be very happy
Really not feeling up for work tomorrow. Thinks it is the repeated few nights of hardly any sleep...
Soberingly I had some news about two homeless local me that I 'knew' through my neighbour. They have talked to Jelly, calling her Shirley Temple, and they have helped me carry the pram up stairs etc so I have interacted with them countless times. They were both found dead the other night after temperatures reached such levels that they died of exposure. I think they likely had had something to drink and it stopped them from realising just how cold it was. They went to sleep and didn't wake up. So very sad. It stopped the local community in its tracks. A lot of people got together to fund some hotel rooms locally for anyone in need which is great but not permanent. It makes me sad that these people are not helped more, when people come from other countries to make their own lives and get handed housing immediately. I think it should be more fairly distributed. It was our local hotel in the news recently... housing 100 odd asylum seekers. I don't begrudge them.... but what about the dozen or so people locally who have no home... why do they not get included?
Anyway I have rambled enough. Am off to make some dumplings for my stew and pop it in the oven. Will see how things fare with Jelly as she might just want to wake and go straight into pyjamas and bed.
xx

That's so sad about the men, R.I.P
. I totally agree about more help for people, where ever they come from. No one deserves to freeze to death because they have nowhere indoors to sleep. DH's paramedic mate showed him a place in town where they are regularly called out because a homeless person has been found, and it's just a patch of litter strewn bushes. Make me so sad that a life could come to that.
I like the sound of Jelly's tent though! Hope she's ok. Also shows how close you are to your Mum that you are sharing the same mouldy carrot woesXx

God bless those two poor souls and all the other people who are also below the poverty line and/or homeless in the UK. Sometimes it doesn't feel like we're a first world country.
I hope you and Jellytot stay well and get lots of sleep tonight. And beware the carrots, they seem to be out for vengeance! With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

RIP to the homeless men so sad. I think more should be done for the homeless. It's just so difficult to know what to do.
Poor Jellytot. Hope she is better soon and you both get a good night's sleep.

Bad nights sleep. Jellytot off nursery, having a duvet day with her daddy. She is very down in the dumps, quiet and prone to dropping off to sleep. Haven't seen her do that since she was a baby. Very sad. She never sits still...
Work is rubbish.am so tired from repeated bad nights!

Sending very gentle virtual hugs.:) Hope that Jelly is much better by the time that you get home. xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
