aww thanks for summing that up, you didn't have to, i would have read it all sooner or later but now i feel a lot more up to speed :) Jelly sounds like an awesome little kid and the light of your life, what a blessing despite the ups and downs with her father you are doing such an amazing job.. and with money too :)
it seems like you know your intuition best of all when it comes to being a parent and thats the best thing you have so don't be fobbed off if you ever think there's a problem! it is difficult when you know they are going through something turbulent emotionally but they are too young and lack the skills to properly convey it to you. don't sweat the small stuff, she sounds like she is excelling in lots of areas and is super smart for age! the schedule sounds great too - wow, a 13 hour sleeping toddler, that is epic!! and asking to go to bed at six.. well now you're just rubbing it in lol
i have a fair amount of issues with LL and his sleeping and potty training issues (night) despite him just turning 4 in december,- but have decided not to panic just yet because they all go at their own pace, his 'team' are happy with him (education wise, medical wise, social wise).. and where he lacks in some areas he compensates in others which sounds like jelly too, so in the end, it all balances out in their own way and time. i'm afraid to say i am a bit of a pushover at the mo due to LL having a traumatic time and am probably allowing more in the way of regression than i should, he still has a bedwetting issue (coupled with nightmares) and dummy is slowly (very slowly) being replaced by only thumbsucking (dummy only for bed).. but even that i have been told to try and get him off.. i simply don't have the heart, although i have noticed he is doing a bit better lately so hopefully in time it will sort itself out, i don;t expect he will have it when he's 17.!!
anyway.. that was enough jibber jabber Lilt..
i mean it when i say you should be really proud of yourself and all the stuff you've made happen for both of you and keeping it all together, you are for sure an inspiration to someone like me :) thanks again .. Levi...x

  • I could say a million things about the lovely post above Levi

    I will stick with these:

Don't sweat the small stuff is correct. It sounds like LL has had a lot of turbulent times, and the kind of teams you discuss having around him (which is great) make me think it will take a while before he starts to really feel secure

Don't let him suck his thumb :rotfl: - I am 29 years old this year and I still suck mine. My mum took mine off me and I just switched when I was 2. I suck it to go to sleep, when I am concentrating (i.e. reading your post and guiltily removing it.. :o:o:o) and when I am tired. Might be worth looking something up called "Stop & Grow". It is for nail biters. A disgusting matt clear liquid that you paint onto the thumb, finger nails and every time it goes in your mouth it is disgusting. I can taste it now... :o As for the dummy itself, we are discussing the Birthday fairy with Jelly daily. She knows that the night before her birthday we have to hand over the "tummies" to the birthday fairy in order to get our new bike for big girls. My friend weaned her 4 year old off his by hanging his on the Christmas Tree this year just gone on Christmas Eve. Worked like a charm, but again she built him up to it.

Likewise with the potty training, bedwetting issues. These are things that are resolved with time, love and patience. I have had enough fabulous mums on here tell me that we are doing fine, it is not a race, and no-one puts their potty training age on their CV ;) and you are doing all of the right things to help him through the nightmares and bed wetting.

And you're a sweetie. I don't feel like an inspiration. We just have a good work ethic and apply it to everything on here, thats all. You are so in the right place! :D x

LOL visions of potty training age on peoples CV gave me a right giggle ;) thanks, and for everything else.. i'm finding it hard to type now as i have just put savlon cream all over the tips of my fingers as i have those sore 'quick' thingies down the side of my nails (is that what you call them? painful little !!!!!!s anyway) - typing straight after doing that was a bit foolish- typical me tho :) na night for now ... Levi..x

I hope things start getting easier with your pain, I think I'm suffering more as it's getting bitterly cold here by the coast, electric blanket at night and heat patches during the day...

I will fight this, life is just a challenge to overcome, just like you have so far Lilt

Ahh Lilty, behind on catching up too :o

Could your chesty problem be the sinus release down the throat overnight onto it? I get it when Olbas does too good a job :rotfl:

Goodness with Miss Jelly, can't leave these things and GP sounds a right a**e today, hope you get a resolution. I got a great duty doc via 111 at the local hospital the other night for pain...not a prescription, but a soothing voice on the phone like a lullaby at 3am :rotfl:

And here's to egg sandwiches :D
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Might be Ali, but the really nasty pain I am getting all day when doing the simple and unavoidable task of breathing is making me think I might need help to shift it! I hope not though!!

Your soothing voice sounds lovely. I might try that if I get woken up by Jelly in the night... :rotfl: sorry you had to do that though hun. *gentlehugs*

Woohoo egg sandwiches! Watch me leave them in the fridge now... :rotfl:

P.S... you are just an absolutely stunning person... I hope you know. Karma definitely does. Good things a coming... xx
