Our trip to town is off. DD is streaming. "my nose is really busy, mummy" :rotfl: DS is a bit gutted. But it's miserable out there, I can't take her out in it :(

I haven't caught up with the thread so hope everyone is ok. Saw Bossy's post so hope little Bossy's nose is less busy soon.

    Today I have:

Given fridge a quick wipe and done menu plan
    Washed up
    Done village shop
Sorted parcel to go by courier
    Walked dogs
Hoovered & mopped through the house
Put new bedding on DD's bed

I am now going to go and say hello to DH who has just driven up the drive.

    Catch you all later.
Spend less now, work less later.

I still haven't put up the curtain poles, but I *have* re-painted the bits of the bathroom that were raggy, especially the tops of the coloured walls where they meet the white ceiling and the bit round the top of the bath where the tiler had positioned the mosaic insert incorrectly and had to re-do it. It was the first room that I decorated here, before I had discovered the beautiful, inexpensive, angled cut paintbrushes with soft, fine synthetic bristle which really do help to give a precision finish. I've also painted the door into the new storage area behind the bathroom to match the walls, and fine-filled all the scratches and rough areas so that it will be ready to sand down and have its second coat of paint tomorrow.

WMx3 and TDx2 completed; one more load to go in the machine
Phonecalls made to DS2 and my BFF
    Emails answered
    Mushroom soup made and scoffed

DH is not home yet. He is obviously making the most of being let out on his own!

Have I got enough energy left now to climb the stepladder and start drilling, or shall I go and sort and home our clothes in the new CoD? Mmmmm, clothes win - then I can get rid of suitcases and crates from our bedroom ;)

Valli, I can confirm that the Chablis was delicious. Not much nose to it* but well rounded and not too dry. Bottle gone and no heartburn which us what usually happens with me and wine. In less positive news, this week's obits were very dull :(

*I know nothing about wine, really, but worked in Threshers for a year when I was at college so I can talk the talk if nothing else :rotfl:

As for flying, I haven't got out of bed today so… :o What can I say, I'm making the most of my day off

Happy Saturday wishes to all xx

    Dailies done.
    Cat stuff done.
    Bathroom done.

Loving the twig tree I got. The cat has not been too bad with it. So beautiful when lit.

Will get a few last bits wrapped tonight. Really need to start cards.

Hugs where needed and hello to newbies.
  • No flying done inside today but loads done outside. Gardens now looking great, leaves collected, rubbish binned, polytunnel emptied, paths cleared and brushed up, one pile done for tip and all outdoor toys cleaned. Didn't get my lights up but they'll do until Monday (need to find them first) :rotfl:

Going to give kitchen a quick tidy, sort some washing and then i'll go to the shop.

I too have been having a good tidy up in the front garden and have planted some bulbs, a few more to do tomorrow.

Washing in and on the maiden, I'll iron all the shirts with strictly in a bit. Going to get downstairs hoovered and mopped first whilst everybody is out of the way.

Thanks Fizz Whizz - will keep an eye out.

My CHRISTMAS TREES ARE UP - main one, DR one, DD has a little one in her bedroom as do I.

This is UNPRECEDENTED - I usually leave it until MUCH later...
    however...
I needed to source some baubles and trimmings for work so I have taken out some baubles I rarely hang for there;)
two birds one stone and all that;)

One of my boxes of baubles was my Grandma's. There's a price on it...
    1/6

    :rotfl:

    (this is seven-and-a-half pence btw)

oh AND EVERYTHING WORKED when I plugged it in! ONE CANDLE ARCH, two sets of fairy lights for main tree - one set which are 'permanent' and which belonged to exOH so are over 20 years old, one flashing set, white fairy lights for DR tree (it is themed; DD would prefer all co-ordinated trees; LR one has random baubles etc, ones my kids have decorated at school fairs, some which were gifts, some bought to commemorate special christmases - baby's first; new homes, one bought on holiday in London - from Buckingham Place and ones bought in Eurodisney, plus ones from children I have taught) and the set which trim the hall - I decorate the banisters.

Oh and the kids let me sleep till nearly 12 today! I woke up with a dull headache but was like balls to it.

I got up and dresses went down stairs to find a lovely clean kitchen. OH made lunch and I decided to take Dd and ds1 to a shop to get a few bits to make Christmas cards. We walked to the shops only about 20 mins and I felt awful but its not something I am going to let get the better of me we stayed out for three hours and spent less then a tenner haha.

We have made a start on the cards but will do more tomorrow. I have decided I now need to be the one to walk the dogs several times a day as I am just so unfit its unreal.

I will be reading but wont bother posting till Monday for a fresh start with my mucky house 'see' you all then!
