DS2 decluttered for the weekend with church group.. I am pleased he has at least 1 interest outside his computer!
Cheapy phone arrived for DD2.. £30 and jobs a goodun lol.. no touch screen a really naff camera and worst of all BUTTONS!!!!!!! lol... She will be so distressed... oh... and it is orange.. it was cheaper than all the other colours hahahahaha!!!!!

I've done nothing bar 2 DW loads and 3 wash loads.. my house is squalid.

I did take Moomin for her xray which given the flooding here this morning meaning horrific traffic, OH went to Tesco.. though we need to go again tomorrow. I paid some of the school debt .. £50 music lessons each for Moomin and Tiddles, £5 2x disco tickets, £4 panto so £109 off their £479 debt!!

Podiatry appointment made for 17th Dec.

Tomorrow I MUST sort the car service!!! someone remind me, I've been meaning to do it for weeks!

    Bills paid for another week.

Clean any jewellery to make it sparkle [STRIKE]- add "find jewellery box" to Toots list[/STRIKE] found it :j DS thinks I am the Tooth Fairy as it has baby teeth, hospital name tags in it......and not much jewellery, he thinks I have been putting gold rings under children's pillows!

Thursday - Rooms of Doom or just neglected spaces
    15 minutes...

[STRIKE]... sorting, filing, flinging, putting away - [/STRIKE]keep going until found. - I had a whole black sack full of stuff from all over the house that I lobbed as I was searching.

    Update remaining present lists

[STRIKE]Made sausage draught excluder for front door[/STRIKE]......quick fix, found a pair of black leggings with bleach marks on, cut the best leg off.....tied hair bobble band on one end, turned inside out, stuffed with DS's odd socks (almost half a carrier bag full) clothes that had suffered mixed wash accidents, bras with one bra wire in and one out, underwear where elastic could no longer take the strain, tied up with one more bobble band, and tuck the leftover material in on itself. Bleach marks covered up with Sh@rpie permanent marker and slung against front door (hoarding/recycling at its best and no time consuming sewing)
Clean up builders mess (plaster and paint splatters) in hallway in 15 minute chunks [STRIKE] x14[/STRIKE] this mess just keeps coming...til done

    Got an hour ....
    Wash bathmats/shower curtain
[STRIKE]Wipe any dusty places in these rooms, on top of cabinets etc
    Hoover and wash the floors[/STRIKE]
    Extras
[STRIKE]Replace any sponges/flannels/toothbrushes etc that need it[/STRIKE] the storage cupboards above my bed all checked for keys, opening the doors now resembles a 1970's corner shop with everything stacked neatly in rows :rotfl:
[STRIKE]throw out any empty bottles.. decant dribbles into fuller bottles - make sure your have enough stock of everything to last the month, including tissues and cold relief, don't forget the cream for the Rudolf nose - festive but sore[/STRIKE] saved trial sized empty baby toiletries type bottles for DD1 so when she flies to see her bf in Ireland in Jan she won't fall foul of airline/liquids policy and will be :money: by decanting her favourites from big bottles rather than buy full price shop miniatures

Extra Flying as part of operation Find Keys

Disassembled my bed, hoovered bed base, mattress both sides, carpet attached to back of headboard ;) it has been a long long time sized that was hoovered :o, all divan drawers, emptied, hoovered, disinfected, gibble slung, and tidily put back.

Bed side cabinets received same treatment (found a post it note underneath one of my underwear baskets - from when I found the American Flylady zite saying "get dressed to lace up shoes" :rotfl:, never done that once since finding you lovely flyladies and flygents:T)

Washed all skirtings behind bed and cabinets

moved DD4 wardrobes with DD3's help, hoovered behind and wash all skirtings, - repaired drawer with wood glue - washed said wood glue drips out of carpet

checked all toys boxes, drawers and cupboards....had a minor flinging sesh.....

checked the smaller understairs cupboard, found an odd shoe and instantly knew where it's twin was - as it was earmarked for lobbing  tidied up my cleaning trugs, sorted out spare hats, gloves etc again and brought nearer the front

checked in all clothing drawers, cupboards and wardrobes in all young Skints rooms.

Checked hallway electric/stop cick cupboard - found missing paint that I wanted to give to builders when they were repairing my ceiling and walls (now thinking I will have to get my butt into gear and use it before it goes gloopey) rehomed some music and games into correct jewel cases from strays that I have been collecting from all over the house

Checked inside all open cereal boxes and kitchen drawers and cupboards

Climbed on worksurfaces and checked tops of kitchen cupboards, - no keys but in serious need of a clean - mentally added to Toots list, change a light bulb while I was up there.

Checked pots and pan, trays and cooking appliance cupboards and drawers, rusty pans put in pile for metal recycling next time.

Inside Fridge and Freezer, inspected, degibbled and cleaned - no keys in here. Ditto on outside Fridge/Freezer.....first 6 inches of deep chest freezer inspected......If I had gone out there asleep then I am sure I would have woke up with a start if I started trying to bury keys deep in frozen veg

Appointments made at 3 local primary schools for DS over the next 2 weeks

EX is going to change house locks on Monday if keys do not turn up. He is bringing the Master key for the car, so I can do appointments next week, but if I loose that then the immobiliser will have to be replaced....in which case me and the BD will be skipping the country (will my BD need its own passport ?:p)

Amazing Vegan Cookies made and decluttered for DD3 and the family (I am ashamed to say a quarter of the cookie dough didn't make it to the oven.....I didn't drop it, but seeing as no eggs in it DS and I indulged in eating some raw cookie dough :p)

Fixed blockage to hoover (caused by some serious work this last few days:rotfl:)

Tomorrow, I am going to get DD3 to help me dismantle and reassemble DS's double bed and drag the chest of drawers around and see if they have fallen there. I also spoke to Cust Serv for engineer in case DS decided to hide my keys and his glasses in Engineer's toolbox (he had a real cheapy plastic tool box to put his plastic spanners and hammers etc in after I kept finding his toys all over the house) and no joy on that front either.

I also went into the Loft once today's engineer had managed to get hatch open for me.....I retraced my steps from the other day, and no keys in the loft either.

I am going to catch up on happenings in Jungle, before it disappears of demand ....nighty night
The cold never bothered me anyway
  • Thank you for all your glasses and key finding vibes :j

I just needed to think clearly and logically on this one. As stressed as I was the last thing I was doing was getting DS ready for his swimming lesson before the Council Officials turned up.

I checked his swim bag again because I remembered packing it, and although I checked it and put it back in the drawer with everyone else's cozzies it got me on a thought process.

I had just put DD4 in car chair that clips onto pushchair when the Council Officials knocked at my door. I had checked the car chair, the seat of the pushchair and the basket under the pushchair several times. I used the pushchair to load things onto out of the stop cick cupboard and hoovered up after myself but what I hadn't done was lifted up the hood of the pushchair.

Keys and glasses were neatly tucked into the crease of the hood of the pushchair, so no obvious bulges, no jangling as I have been moving pushchair around searching as well and popping DD4 in it to keep her out of the flying gibble as I searched for the wretched things.

I appreciate that Council Officials might need to turn up on spec to catch out fraudsters, but they clearly have no idea what turmoil is left behind to BD and anxiety sufferers who suffer meltdown when wanted and invited visitors turn up and want to come in. I have no memory of putting the keys there, and I have lost nearly 3 days of my life going round and round in tighter and tighter circles on this one. Not to mention I have been unbearable with young Skints getting them to search high and low, DS missed his swimming lesson and nursery that was all pre paid for. And most of all you Flyladies and Flygents have been supporting and encouraging me throughout.

I am going to try and get some proper rest now, and will stay off Fred til new list goes up.

Meanwhile, here is a big bunch of sticks for everyone else's BD that are snapping ATM

 I am so pleased that you have found your keys, Skinty. And yes, you may have lost 3 days of your life, but you haven't stopped flying in that time - think of all that you *have* achieved.
Enjoy your well-earned rest, get out of the house for a while with your kids and throw some stones back into the sea, and come back to us much refreshed next week

I am sending DH to Coventry today - not because he has done anything wrong, but so that he can go to the 1ke@ store there, which apparently has a good stock of cuddly crocodiles, whereas the store which is nearer to us has completely sold out - please don't all rush to buy one until he has had his chance, or DGS1 will be very disappointed ;) Fortunately DH can use his bus pass all the way, including on the local trains :money: and I shall be able to get on with touching up paint and unpacking boxes in his absence :D

I woke up at silly o'clock again this morning, went down to make a cup of tea at 5.30 and considered starting to build 2 CD racks, but thought better of it until I had done bits on the computer. First cuppa has now been decluttered and emails read. I still need to update Toots lists, then it will be time to boil the kettle again and play hunt the screwdriver :D

    Have a good weekend, everyone!

Hello all I am late this morning as under instructions from DH to stay in bed to get rid of my cold!!!

Just done mid month banking - memo must do earlier next month! and about to get cup of coffee to wake myself up properly. Feeling much better today though so hope to motor on and catch up from the last two days.

So glad you found your keys Skinty - it is impossible not to worry when that happens - but just look at what you have achieved in the three days! Your posts reminded me of the whirlwind "all around the house spring clean with Fla*h" adverts - were they seventies? - I am so old!!! It's a sign of aging when you reminisce a lot!LOL

Have a good weekend everyone. x

2 CD racks built, DH decluttered to Coventry, all Christmas gift shopping completed (except for DH's chair which we will buy locally next week. One Am@zon order is arriving today so I had better get properly dressed :o

Will then tackle some touch-up painting in the kitchen, DR and hall.

Bought some lovely curtain material for the DR yesterday but may not have quite enough as I think I didn't allow sufficient for the hems as well as the pattern repeat  so I hope that the curtain pole that I ordered is delivered to the shop very soon, then I have half a chance of getting an extra couple of metres of fabric for one of the shorter curtains. Fortunately the fabric was only £7.99/m :money: so it will not break the bank.
