After a massive tantrum about the state of the house I went out ... OH put up the curtain pole and rehung curtains and DD2 and bf tidied (with the aid and bossing of the younger ones) the front room and erected the tree. They also swept the kitchen and loaded the DW.

My front room is full of boxes of baubles for the younger ones to fling at the tree tomorrow and the lights induce seizures..

I am so unfestive and just feeling a bit deflated and glum if I am honest.. this mouth infection is really hammering me plus my hips are really painful.. I'd go to drs but they'd fill me with drugs I don't want to take.. need is another matter.

Tomorrow I need to get the bauble boxes away and sort at least the back room... The treadle sewing machine needs to go and the boxes of ebay gubbins needs sorting (aka bagged and dumped at chazzer)

Hope you all sleep well. xx

    Morning all

Felt a bit grim last night so ironing not done so that will be my first job today along with another load of washing.

Big pile of leaves need moving from the front garden to the leaf mould cage and the back lawn raking - a child or two can do that.

Need to go into the loft and get the decoration boxes down and move a chest of drawers downstairs for courier collection tomorrow.

Well the sphincters living next door woke me about an hour ago and I have no chance of getting back to sleep the noise they are making with OH snoring in my ears and the pain in my hips and mouth.. So I watched the sun rise in all it's red glory and the 2 Tiddles are awake none so I shall go check out the Christmas tree situation see if they have done the baubles I left out for them.

I need a cuppa then will crack on with some flinging.. Anyone want a beautiful antique display cabinet? Or a treadle sewing machine?

  • Morning all. I am desperately trying to motivate myself. Yesterday the hoover ran out of power as I finished just the front door mat! and it takes a while to recharge - by which time my mo-jo had disappeared - well it was time for Strictly!!
Hope for a better day today but must take myself out for a walk as I'm becoming quite reclusive. Yesterday we just went to the crem to put flowers on dear mil grave.

Have a good day everyone. xx

We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise here too - and when I opened the back bedroom/study curtains, the sunlight was reflecting off the oak tree in the lane and it looked as if it was on fire. The horses in the field opposite are wearing nice red tartan blankets and it all looks very festive :)

Last night I dozed my way through Strictly and then put another coat of paint on the bathroom door and wall. This morning I have rubbed down the last few bumps and filled a couple of little holes with the fine surface stuff, so it will be ready for its final coat of paint later today.

Still more clothes to put away in the drawers and hang up in the wardrobe this afternoon. Mind you, I suspect that most of them will be unwearable soon :p unless I put pounds back on over the holidays. DH returned from Coventry (with crocodile :D) complaining that he had spent half the day hitching his jeans up :rotfl: He will just have to wear braces all the time - he has some festive red ones on his decent trousers, and I'll find his Santa hat to go with them :rotfl:

Hope you feel better soon, piggers, lozzy and Dusty (and anyone who drank too much Chablis last night).
Trees are looking good (despite bossy's naughty elves), and well done valli for being so far ahead of yourself.

I must find the candle bridges and put them up today, and I still haven't started writing cards. The garden birds would doubtless like some food, so I will put up the new feeding "tree" in view of the lounge window and maybe sweep the leaves off the decking while the sun is shining. But I also need to go and borrow a large spirit level from DS1, to fix the curtain rails and tall furniture, so we have an excuse to play with the DGDs for a little while :D

Happy Sunday, everyone - and take some time out to relax!!!
