I have smashed a big dish that sits in the middle of the DR table. This is probably a good thing because that means one fewer ornament in the DR. And, given one of the cats has taken to kipping in it - another reason to be cheerful.
I have done batch two of the ironing and have made space in the DR for the DR tree.
I need to sort out what's happening to the 'old' curtains and cushions. I'm thinking chazzer.
Opto - Piggers is possibly your go-to flylady but I did feed both mine and DS was a greedy little boy; DD was much daintier. If you can carry on and you want to carry on, do. Ignore any 'if you formula feed you know what they've had' carp;). If you want to stop, stop. One reason I BF was that it was less faff; I always had a meal to hand IYSWIM and no bottles to wash;).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

In a bad mood and can't be bothered to do anything but I've a busy week ahead including 1800 word essay to be done by Tuesday grr. I hate writing Christmas cards....anyone else?Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Evening! I'm not sure where time is going at the moment. As usual, I'm behind with everything and seem to spend a lot of the weekend just sleeping
Am going to attempt to write some cards in a bit so at least I'll have done something!Aww deco, its a tough time of year for a lot of people, isn't it. Just one day! How does it take over life for so long? I find myself wishing it was overnot supposed to be like this.
I so want to pull my socks up!Bossy I'm a bit the same at the moment - feel very emotional and fed up of Christmas already. I'm trying to keep it simple too but feel I have no control. I too feel very emotional too. Deco x
I'm feeling a bit like that at the moment too so am sending hugs to both of you and anyone else finding this time of year difficult.
dancemum - good to hear Dad is improving
Dusty - more hugs for you and yours
Pigpen - lovely piccies; hope you find your Christmas spirit soon xx
nicki - hope the hand heals quickly xx"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Well I've been busy all day doing the window
Still haven't quite finished.
DD has spent all day doing homework or moaning about it. Looks like she'll be spending Tuesday with me doing chores instead of going to her friends house like she asked. Her attitude today has stunk and she's still not finished the homework so as far as I am concerned she's not going. If she hates me for saying it then she hates me, but she's got to learn that she needs to do her homework before I let her 'play out'.
Plan for the rest of the night is to wash up, sort out a list for Mr A tomorrow, and then try to get another good nights sleep.See you later on the new thread

Biggest hugs to both of you. I feel exactly the same, I want it over. I'm so miserable atm and feel I'm making DS3 miserable too. Bless he said with all the vets bills I don't mind if I can't have presents. DH had more bad news that an old workmate ha been 'diagnosed', same age as us.Honey_Bear wrote: »Dusty, We can't make feline people better, but I do know they grieve terribly when one goes. Darling Woody is grieving, and if he's ill, you will do what is right. They don't follow the same logic we have. If he's ill, he was ill before RP was, and didn't want you to know. If he needs healing, and it is possible to heal him, the vet will tell you how. None of this is your responsibility, it was his feline choice to keep any illness from you.
Maybe but the didn't like each other, in fact RP really disliked him and they did't spend any time together. He has not left his basket since lunchtime so vet it will be which my mean letting my friend with BC down again due to the vet.
Opto-mum, I've forgotten was he early. DS2 lost weight, I needed to wake him for feeds, but I carried on and he was like the mitchlin man by 4 months. Piggers will give you great advice.
Dancemum I hope your DF continues to improveThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Oh opto, hope things improve for you. I can offer encouragement in that I BF both of mine successfully although I found it difficult with DD at first. Hi Opti-mum, I'm a lurker but thought I'd come out of the woodwork to share. I've bf both mine. My DS1 was 7 weeks prem. He went from 6lb 6 to 5lb 10 in the first week. My HV tried to push supplementing with formula, but I didn't want to as we have lots of allergies in family. By six months she was telling people how well to I'd done to bf only. Grr.
In the day I made sure he fed every 3 hours, even if it meant waking him up. Not in the night tho' As long as baby has plenty of wet nappies and some dirty he's fineAlso the growth charts in your red books are for formula fed babies so won't necessarily correspond with bf baby growth.
Hope that helps.0 -
Dusty, I'm so sorry if what I said made it worse - you know your cats.
It sounds as though life is going to continue to be stressful for you with Woody, your friend and DH's colleague all going through testing times. All I can offer is a (hug) or (((three))) while you're missing RP to help you through.Better is good enough.0 -
Update on Olliecat after his very expensive visit to the vet on Friday. Had to spend the afternoon there having blood tests done to see why he is losing weight and not eating. Turns out he has some sort of unknown mass near/on his kidney, dehydrated, a broken tooth and two bad molars at the back of his mouth, and massive weight loss. Thankfully his blood tests for thyroid and kidney came back negative, but he has very high red blood cells and normal white cells..confused the vets as they are baffled..lol. Having teeth surgery and more blood tests/xrays in the coming week. Lets home we get to the bottom of this.. But after a steroid injection and antibiotics he is eating now which is a blessing.. And I am watching him using the cat tray like a hawk so I can see how many times he goes to No 2's. But I have got to give him the laxative to shift the build up of poop... Not looking forward to that one..lol But the good news is that he is now starting to clean himself again, give himself pedicures. I nearly jumped for joy when he scratched himself..D thought I had gone barmy..lol. Oh and he is also beating up the kittencat too..well she does deserve it as she keeps annoying him when he is being fed on demand..lol
