Super windy today! Beautiful keyring bossy, and key finding and Ds glasses finding vibes for you Skinty.

I am slowly catching up with the washing, last night I ironed one basket of clothes but it took ages I just wasn't in the mood for it, so today I am going to have a look at the lists and see what I can do :)

Skinty, here's one for your BD *throws large stick out to sea* together with key- and glasses finding vibes. When my DH lost his keys recently, I finally found that they had slipped through the lining of his coat and were right down at the hem.

*Chucks more sticks for other people's BDs too*

I woke up too early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. DH woke up about an hour later, at which point I gave in to wakefulness and made tea for us both. We managed to get the replacement parts for the furniture at 1ke@ yesterday evening :) so DH's first job today is to fix the backing board in the last bookcase, then I can screw them to the wall and start loading books onto them and so empty more packing cases :D

I must also do odd bits of painting. I finished the gloss in the DR and kitchen yesterday, but there are odd bits of emulsion to be touched up. Despite multiple warnings, DH (who could never in a month of Sundays be described as "slim" or "dainty on his feet") managed to brush against one newly glossed doorframe and leave a patch of blue fuzzy bits, so that will have to be re-done next time I get the gloss out

Today our electrician has an inspector visiting him (OFSTED for sparkies!), and he might decide to come and inspect Mike's work here - we'll know for sure later. If yes, that will mean turning out the cupboard under the stairs so that he can get to the consumer unit, so afterwards I will put down pieces of the leftover vinyl flooring in there.

By this evening we should also have curtains in the LR.... :D

    Morning all.

    Hugs, vibes, sticks to all.

Change of plans for today again. Forecast for today is stormy and after going outside to my relatively sheltered yarden to retrieve escaping items I've decided its too cold and windy to go running all over the city to do errands. The forecast also includes heavy rain which I'm not looking forward to. I've managed to juggle enough money around to pay my work invoice online so I don't have to go and hand over all my change to the bank to pay it. My order is ready to hit 'submit' when I get home from parents evening.

I need to be at school for 3.50 at the latest so I'm going to leave here about 2.30ish, jump the bus towards school, pop in the bank to change some Scottish notes, pop to c0sta for a hot chocolate to go and then walk up to school. Me getting there normally takes about 30min, so I'm hoping I'm allowing enough time for a queue in the bank and c0sta ;) Might pop the bakey (next to the bank) for something to get me and DD through until 6pm, but we are definitely having a chippy tea. :p

So this morning, I'm going to work until 12.15 on the window again :rotfl: I have bottles/tubes of paint all over the livingroom so I want this job done and dusted so I can get everything away and get the room back to normal before the weekend.

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

  • This is just the thread I need - I HATE HOUSEWORK - household chores are just not my thing! I'm fed up with my Mum asking "Have you tidied up yet?" to which the answer is always, "I'm working on it." My trouble is that I am easily distracted unless I am completely focused. I have a space which is the dedicated space for the Christmas Tree each year and unless I get my finger out next week there will be no Christmas Tree because there is no space at the moment it's filled with junk!

So I look forward to being part of the Flylady Community and getting those horrid household chores out of the way with a little bit of help along the way.

Thanks IonafanI must admit I did check all the pockets of coats while they were on hangers.......but never thought about checking the coat lining :), going to get my butt off here and check.

Posi vibes are flowing, I have now made froggy phone calls to book in some primary school for DS and I to visit next week and the week after so that I can make an on line submission. So I must find my keys otherwise I will have another whole set of appointments to reschedule :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The cold never bothered me anyway

FizzWhizz, would you be able to shop on line and get Dune1m to deliver?

I actually felt quite silly when I read this, because I should've thought of that all by myself :o but after having a good look at their website, they appear to have stopped selling them too :( I was replacing one of DH's pillows and whilst I was scratting about under DSD's bed* for that, I found a brand new one of "mine" too :T so that'll suffice for now but long term, I need to find another solution. Think I may have to try a hard memory foam one but I'm reluctant to make an expensive mistake.

*let us not talk on the amount of rubbish and dirty washing I also found under the bed. I'm sure I'll hear about it later though as I have dumped it all on her pillow, dirty knickers and used tissues, the lot. Evil step mum strikes again ;)

DS2 had an accident in bed last night; thankfully my wash basket is empty as I have had to wash his duvet and the covers and sheets etc are in the WM now. I'm hoping that his duvet will be dry by bedtime, as the only spare we have is a summer one and it's due to be brrr. I've spread it wide over the airer and gave parked the dehumidifier under it so fingers crossed.

Time to get stuck into the ironing. Working this afternoon so I need to shift myself.

Heres a huge bundle of sticks for all those black dogs that seem to be circling at the moment. Depression is a horrible thing to deal with but
"There is always a glimpse of sunshine beyond the pouring rain."

The BBC are doom-mongering for Suffolk weather today but its just a little bit windy outside at the moment...hope it doesn't get worse, they often cry impending doom only for a bright sunny day to materialise!

I hope that those in Scotland suffering the really harsh weather are keeping themselves warm and safe x
