    Dusty, hugs for you.

Well, the weather is atrocious here. I could hardly keep upright on the dog walk this morning and sometimes it was impossible to take a step forward. I kept the dogs on leads as they were getting blown off their feet a bit.

I haven't been out in the garden to tidy it as it is quite clear that the destruction isn't over yet. Even the shed has flown. I took the decision to move my car which was between a lamp post and a tree as the tree particularly is swaying precariously.

Hope anyone else affected is staying safe.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Dusty - so sorry to hear your news - sending you and your family hugs - it must have been a very hard decision but no more pain for your beloved Royal Paws.

Flying as such is almost suspended until keys are found (DS glasses would be nice, but I do have a pair where the lens keeps popping out). Flying just done as a courtesy to say the room is done and shut down.

I have come to the conclusion that I must sleep walk, as well as sleep talk, as the keys are not in any logical place.

All rooms have had a good look over in the obvious places
Coats and linings all checked again, whole shoe and coat cupboard emptied.

The rubbish bags have been ripped open and their contents examined, rebagged and put outside.

Nappy and compost bins have had same fate

WM, TD and DW have all been examined

Main bathroom checked, all drawers and cabinets checked - degibbled of empty plastics and cardboard as I went, nappy bin in bleach as we type. Door locked from outside, to prevent anyone going in with keys accidentally (ie DS) so that is done.

    Downstairs loo ditto

Ensuite ditto, but kept unlocked so DS can go in and out, there are no floor height cupboards and only 2 small wall cupboards so I can check those again easily enough when I have to.....

Log cabin 1 checked where I took 2 cardboard boxes for recent purchases for storage in case I have to return them (just incase DS had posted them in without me looking)

Log cabin 2 is almost empty but checked there too.

I paced up and down the garden as if I was mowing the grass, checked under trampoline and outside bins (discovered ANOTHER broken fence panel, due to high winds.) Checked by elec and gas meters, in case I decided to read the meters in the middle of the night

pull out under sink cupboard in Utility and found big pool of water, removed all items and stacked up on worksurfaces (just for now) cleaned and dried cupboard. restocked bathrooms and kitchen with spare cleaning products so less to put back when eventually I put it all away.

Went and checked big metal shed, as I took stuff out there on Tuesday (either before or after engineer arrived, due to BD I just can't remember) not anywhere near entrance, I cannot get further in (unless I did sleepwalk and decided lobbing keys to the back of the shed would be a good idea!) found some wood glue and border adhesive, took inside.

Repaired lifting wallpaper in Study/office, repaired drawer on chest in DD4 room. returned items to kitchen ready to take back out later once no other jobs remain.

Checked all laundry bags in Study/Office, windowsills, toolboxes, behind printer, found some sandpaper, went to DD4 room, and removed offending fake nail glue from window sill (no wonder I couldn't get windowsill "clean" once I started sanding I discovered it is actually a cream coloured paint over green flecks from when a previous owner painted the room - feeling a bit better now) sandpaper returned to the DIY box - Study now shut down but no lock- emptied dehumidifier and relocated it to DS room to try and dry that out.

DS's bedding pegged to the line and dried in 30 minutes thanks to the gales

DD3 bedding washed and pegged out the same. DD3 has "checked" her room, but as I haven't checked it with a fine tooth comb, I am calling this outstanding.

Dining room, hoovered and condiment/electric cupboard checked - classed as done, nowhere else to hide, doors shut but cannot lock down.

Kitchen floor, hallway and main LR hoovered. But not thoroughly stripped back - YET!

Going to spend some time playing with DS and DD4 for a while now, while strategically throwing the contents of their toy baskets around until emptied as opposed to raking around it.

Apologies for the post, but at least I can go back on here later and know where I have been and where I haven't!
