Still never got to the flying, must try harder tomorrow but quite a busy day. Still DS1 doesn't work on Wednesday so I shall be utilizing him. So far he needs to go and buy cat litter and to collect DS3 from school (and he can get DS2 whilst at it) as he is struggling with the bus in the cold and dark on the way home.

I have paid stuff in the morning and then a haircut so will catch up later.

I didn't do anything from my list yesterday :o. I got all the kids gifts out though to show DH what they had and that some of DD's stuff needs to be shared around or go back to the shops. She had £200  so hopefully MiL is going to get her the dressing gown and other grands can get her brolley for her.
DH spent £200 on sage on Monday so I really hope this business gets off the ground and works for them. My concern is the risk of the house but as neither of them want to take on any credit against the business, hopefully it'll stay that way. They've chosen a name. The Egyption goddess of creativity. Begins with a K. Not a clue what :o as I was tired and feeling rough when DH said about it! Actually got up at 14:30, had toast and hot squash and went back to bed again for 2 hours!
Hopefully better Thursday but Wednesday I have DD's parents evening so will have to get a wriggle on.
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.

GWS vibes to your DD4, Skinty - hope the lurgy doesn't spread through the whole household and hang around until Christmas, as if you haven't got enough on your plate as it is. Any news of your boiler replacement?

Thanks IonafanJust catching up with Fred from beginning.....best reply before I get too tired......Energy Saving Trust made referral to my current supplier a french lady called Edie Eff. Now Edie checked my details against those taken by Energy Saving Trust, then applied a secret criteria that they don't make publicly known ...namely they take the model of your boiler put it into Computer-ma-bob, and surprise surprise "Computer says no!"

So an extra few days wasted waiting for them to say "WHEN" with no real chance of anything happening.

I then rang the falcetto singing Barry Gibb about the sneaky loopholes on a fixed price repair where I could end up being stitched up for more than I bargained for. So after I entered interrogation mode, I found out the fixed price repair basically runs like a taxi meter....if they are in and out in 30 minutes flat you get the advertised price, then over 30mins you pay nearly £200, then over 2 hours it is over £400 :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Bearing in mind what has already been done (which I appreciate Barry's engineer has to double check for himself) I knew this was going easily go beyond 30 minutes and very likely over 2 hours.

So I asked for something that was going to guarantee me a working boiler with the smallest upfront fee......£99 and a DD for £21 for service plan that I am committed to for 12 months (if I cancel, the canx fee is equivalent to the value of repair, but not exeeding the total annual cost of contract) so I whipped out my flexible friend before they changed their mind.

Barry Gibbs' engineer was here for over 3 hours , boiler still not working, another engineer is coming on Friday (because of commitments left right and centre) and I have been told to allow a minimum of 5 hours , yes folks 5 hours to get it working.......so I am hoping to have a warm house by the weekend.

DD4 went to out of hours service Monday night, it is SOME kind of viral infection, they think.....but spots don't quite match the usual suspects, so I have to wait and make appointment for GP to see if the rash changes into something they can stick a label on.

So as a precaution, no nursery for DS for this week, also sending apologies to funeral for tomorrow, with a number of elderly and susceptible mourners expected tomorrow they don't need me carrying DD4's virus on my personage and making someone seriously unwell. (not to mention I don't want EX MiL to get ill either).

Other than that, we are tickety-boo :rotfl:

fizzwhizz how are your teeth, I suffered migranes for years saw nuerologists and all sorts. Had a dentist take out a bad tooth and the next day the head and eye pain was gone. Hasn't returned for years now.

Fizzwhizz do you have Wisdom Teeth? they may be grumbling and disturbing your bite Do you have clicking on one or both sides of your jaw when you eat? Is chewing food a real chore, so it seems easier to inhale your food? Could be slight jaw misalignment.

Once my wisdom teeth were removed there was a marked improvement in the frequency and intensity of my migraines, although I still get migraines I can cope inbetween a bit better HTH

The whole house has had a quick going over Monday night and all day Tuesday before engineer arrived, as I realised he would have to bleed every rad, and therefore go in every room, and I couldn't bear the shame (bathroom cupboards up and downstairs were buffed you could see your face in them :).)....for once I didn't feel ashamed to let someone in, although I did apologise that it was so cold in the house, then immediately realised what I had said :wall:

I actually got a compliment on my neat and tidy airing cupboard with all my neatly flip flopped towels :j:eek::j:eek: never envisaged that when I joined this thread just over a year ago...thank you all you flyladies and flygents :A

    Good morning.

Shopping day today with a friend. I'm a bit put out as I rearranged my work causing myself a complicated week. 2 of the girls have cried off saying they have too much to do. DH wanted to go shopping today and I pushed him to next week. Wish I hadn't bothered.

I spent 2 hours flying last night between dropping DD2 at her Dance club. Bathrooms are gleaming and all windows are shined and ready for decoration.

DS2 needs to buck his ideas up. He's really pushing buttons at the moment. I need to talk to DH about him but he's in the 6am-8pm club at work. It's all he can do to eat his meal and doze in front of the tv. A serious chat is not on the agenda.
  • Morning everyone - just caught up on the thread - we have been busy!

Have woken up with a snuffle - hope it doesn't develop further. DH says I've been doing too much!!! I just can't win lol:rotfl:

Plan today is to catch up on yesterday's outstanding tasks first - I can't seem to finish them all in one day so must be overestimating. Then more kitchen work -
    Cooker hood and filter
    Cupboard doors inside and out
    Internal glass door clean
Kitchen floor scrub (to be done on hands and knees as it has stupid little dints in which the grime stays no matter what!!)
15 minutes or so of the paper frog done already and hope to get a HHFrog later too.
    Will report back at teatime

    Good luck everyone xx

    Morning all.

Hugs, vibes, sticks and spoons for everyone :D

Today I am concentrating on getting my window finished. I'm out tomorrow running errands and I have parents evening from 3.50pm-7pm (thanks to DD's appointment making) so it'll be too dark to do anything on it. :( If I get anything else done before 4.30pm it'll be a bonus :p Then I need to work for the rest of the night.

I best get a move on as its now light enough to see what I'm doing :D

    Good morning!

    I have a day to myself :T:T:T:T:D

I'm going up to town first. Market ([STRIKE]gammon, veg, blu tak[/STRIKE], green felt), bank ([STRIKE]pay cheque in[/STRIKE]), browse ([STRIKE]could use a new handbag[/STRIKE]). Maybe not in that order. I should get the gammon last as its heavy!

Then I have [STRIKE]lights to put up[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]laundry to do[/STRIKE], windows to wash and this afternoon I shall snuggle up and do a spot of sewing. Jackets and sausages for tea, I think.

Hope your throat is less scratchy today, pigpen.
