Change of plan for today. We have had to take apart most of the CoD which DH made up yesterday, as I spotted a huge chip out of the centre of the rail immediately under the top of the CoD, which was obviously a factory fault as it had been overpainted with the spray paint - it should have been rejected at source!!! DH was (understandably) also  about me insisting that we get a replacement part, but he hadn't noticed it (or thought I wouldn't). I wonder what we'll find when he makes up the cupboards for the dining room? - I shall inspect all the pieces very carefully!

We have managed to replace all the stair handrails which were taken off for painting.

    That sounds really annoying Ionafan.

Going to do HHC now until the boys come home from school.

Stairs done, two vats of soup made and one kitchen drawer turned out. I have a vast collection of freezer bags I knew nothing about.

Special gravy made for tomorrow night, when R will be back for one night. I want the house to look spotless by then and my office has to be sorted because R will be staying in there on the futon. It looks like a complete tip at the moment with whole areas covered by seething masses of gibble. I have no idea where I am going to hide everything.

Belated Congratulations to Opto Mum and Dusty for DS2's offer. Gentle strokes for RP. Hugs for Dancemum.
    Better is good enough.

    Hi all!

I've finished work for the week :T very early start this morning <yawn> but productive day and loose ends are being tied up already - only 6 days left to work until 6th Jan :T

DD seemed fine overnight and is at nursery (going to collect them both shortly) so hopefully not infection. I've put the green bin out ready for morning, and need to decide what's for tea - They are so tired on an evening they can't seem to face a proper meal :( I run out of ideas of what to give them... Although she has a light tea at nursery, and he usually has a hot snack at after school club.

Tomorrow I have the day to myself, although my mum keeps mentioning it so not sure if she wants to do something. Other than that, I'm continuing my toy box raiding and getting the garage room sorted. DS asked if we can make it into a Santa grotto :) so I might pop up into the loft and see what we have / can make. Might also do the outdoor lights. And go order a gammon. And start my sewing...

I have finally replaced the fridge light bulb :T after <can't remember how many> months of being in the dark ;)

bossy if you are doing a grotto, they have those pieces of farbic that look like icicles in poundland not sure how long the pieces were, and they had bags of glittery snow to scatter about (think burst beanbag contents with added sparkle)

Well ds2 has barfed on my sofa so all cushion covers are on a boil wash.

I'm certainly not laughing ay the episode, but the matter of fact statement about barf made me :rotfl: Hope you're all feeling better soon xx

My mouth guards arrived this morning, talk about great service :) I need to heat and shape them and see if they help, my jaw is sore today and I think I even clench my teeth when I'm awake but concentrating. Thanks Dusty, I'll see how I get on with these cheapies and if they're ok I will talk to my dentist about custom fit jobbies when I next see him.

Went to see a potential new customer this morning and I start next Tuesday, she's also given me the number of a friend who's looking for help. Hopefully in a month or two I will be full during school hours, DH reckons we'll be millionaires within a year :p

Flying wise I haven't done much, sat at my lappy and added a few Christmas bits to my amaz0n basket; I think DH is almost done, I need to get pants, jypamas etc for my kids. DD wants make up brushes but I'm struggling to come up with nice ones which will do a good job but won't break the bank; I am a beautyholic and some of my brushes were ££ but I'm not sure a 14 year old will appreciate the difference.

Off to see if the boys' room is a mess again. Lord help them if I find stray pants down the side of the bed…
  • Hi everyone - updating now before tea - which DH is preparing:).
Very productive if extremely tiring day.
    Christmas persents wrapped
    Batteries sorted for recycling
Stamps onto Christmas cards - received our first today!!
    15 mins of paperwork
    Kitchen
ceiling and walls dust webs removed - couldn't see them from the ground!
Tops of all cupboards cleaned (where I could reach!! - shortie)
Windows, wall tiles and back door cleaned
    Pictures and noticeboard cleaned
new oven wiped out - need to get oven cleaner - as not allowed to use scourers
    toaster de-crumbed
    WUDUPA

Think that's enough for today - looking forward to some easier kitchen bits tomorrow!!

Well I kept working at the window until 4.40 when it was then too dark to see what I was doing.

WMx3 done and folded. tea on and I'm chilling watching "Ms Scrooge" with DD :D

Later I'll have to do some work but I need to eat first. ;) Will fly in the kitchen after tea as well.

Evening everyone. Paid stuff done and the dailies. Since finishing the paid stuff I have rediscovered the sides in the kitchen, sorted out two birthday cards (actually quickly made one of them) and wrapped and sorted out two parcels to send with birthday and Christmas pressies. I also wrapped one of DD's pressies in case she goes on a hunt.

Hope everyone is ok and has a nice evening.
