Hi,
I'm confused, my Dads pension is due on the 27th December, I read that he would get it on the 24th, but the link above says he will receive it on the 27th, can anyone clarify? I saw the info on the netmums site.
Are they really going to make a pensioner wait till after Christmas?
Why, it's a normal work day. I think paying earlier causes huge problems as they wait longer and I can't imagine what anyone would spend money on during the bank holidays as shops aren't open. Surely it makes no difference at all.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

But it isn't due until after Christmas so they aren't making him wait!
That said,it'll probably be in his account on 24thIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
This come direct from the DWP website..... so hope it clarifys for everyone! :j ..... it shows regional variations for Scotland and Northern Ireland too.
Christmas and the New Year
There are different payment dates for Christmas and the New Year.
Payment due date 24, 25 and 26 December 2013 When you’ll be paid 23 December 2013
Payment due date 27 and 30 December 2013 (Northern Ireland only) When you’ll be paid 23 December 2013
Payment due date 1 January 2014 When you’ll be paid 31 December 2013
Payment due date 2 January 2014 (Scotland only) When you’ll be paid 31 December 2013
sorry text is laid out like it is, but wouldn't allow me to space it better or paste a table of the dates either

Saw the above notice on the .GOV website earlier, but will this include all benefits? Attendance Allowance is due to be paid on 27th so will this be included on 23rd?
The .GOV site only mentions:-
'Bank holiday payment dates for tax credits and Child Benefit.'
also the notice on .GOV implies that it is for Northern Ireland only that will get benefits that should be paid on 27th December on the 23rd.0 -

The government website (which I'd assume to be the correct info) says otherwiseIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

I think both are correct - the .GOV site though is very unclear saying that payments due 27 and 30 December 2013 (Northern Ireland only) are to be paid 23rd Dec.
Does this mean only Northern Ireland will get payments made earlier for both dates or just the 30th. Very misleading.0 -

It only matters if one has an elderly parent who will worry over xmas IF it should have been paid early and it hasn't been.
ZERO marks to HM Government/DWP for their website.
Besides we are only discussing what .GOV have themselves posted - they should make more of an effort to get it right.0
