  • Morning all,

I appear to be well and truly stalled on #2. It's been crazy busy and something new and unexpected has cropped up every single day so despite my preparations nothing has gone to plan. However, in new developments, I used "no" as a complete sentence yesterday when I turned down a last minute invitation that sounded fun but would have been too stressful logistically (there was a "thank you very much" in there too). I felt very proud of myself as usually I'd be tying myself in knots trying to get it all done.

Right, must get ready for the day. Have a good one! :snow_laug

Congratulations on using the best "N" word :j it's incredibly hard to say and takes extra magical powers this time of year.

  • Metaphorically jumping up and down with excitement at...

    NSD 9!!!!

In fact it wasn't just a NSD it was a BIG negative spend day. Invested 50p in the daily mirror for £5 coupon for Lidl to buy Christmas food shop (meat was purchased on spend day yesterday) and "purchased" a Skylander Giant for DS2's stocking filler using O2 priority moments app for zero pennies.

    Non-spends £5 coupon and £8.99 skylander = £13.99
Spends: 50p "newspaper" and £1 slimming world raffle tickets = £1.50
    total spends MINUS £12.49 :j :j

December target is looking VERY do-able :)

    Good Morning Folks:santa2:,

I have had a busy week, but finished work until the day after Boxing day yesterday:beer:. I am able to declare NSD9 for yesterday though:)
Today definitely won't be an NSD though, as I am going to do some grocery shopping. I hope everyone is well and getting into the Christmas spirit:xmastree::snow_laug

I'm being careful with negative spends - it's part of how I ended up in debt, I now know the difference between a big saving and a negative spend (I.e. buying an item with 70% off is still spending) and a negative spend (getting an item for free or as in the paper, buying an item specifically to get a voucher bigger than the spend for a shop I'd be using anyway)

So as much as I'd love a tour of the sales when the 70% discounts hit I won't be going. I'll be at lidl, getting the £5 off my grocery shopping.

    Thank you MSE, I'm converted!

Thanks Sazzie - I can't wait for Nargleblast panto :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm going to count yesterday as an NSD even though I spent money. I had a final Xmas lunch to pay for but that was pre planned and out of Xmas budget so NSD 1 achieved. I have nothing else planned so I can't use that excuse again :)

Muvva & I scrounged a welcome hot cuppa off my sister & her Hubbs yesterday so I've reached 7 nsds already facepalm-smiley-emoticon.gif --not that I'm complaining of course!

Only thing was, while we were playing Rudolph & Santa (muvva gives little gifts to sis & bil, & I usually chauffeur) Hubert got into the dregs of the parsnip, turmeric & chilli whiskey that was drying out ready to go on the blueberry & curry powder fondue roulade. Given his propensity to stage fright, can someone please make sure the nappy cupboard is fully stocked & left unlocked from curtain up of the matinee tomorrow, until further notice. Same for washing machines...will 30 be enough?
