Just popping in to say hello! and to ask you a question, it occurred to me that you lovely people would be the ones to ask :)

I have too many toiletries and more make up than I think I can use, what I don't have, however are decent make up brushes!! I still have the annoying cheap ones I bought as a teen, and it occurred to me that decent brushes would probably make my make up look better and if it's a pleasure rather than a chore, I'd be more likely to use it more and have more of a chance of getting through it!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So my question to you lovely ladies is which make up brushes do you recommend? I'm current looking at the Body Shop ones on for half price? Do any of you use them? are they any good?

The Real Techniques brushes are hands down the best I have tried and have revolutionised my makeup application. In particular the buffing brush for foundation and the set for eyes which includes a blending brush and a crease brush, I use these three brushes every single day. They wash really well too.

    Hi Ladies,

Shamefully late this month but I'm in!! :o Thank you KT for starting us off. Life is continuously hectic at the moment but good so I have nothing to complain about and lots to be grateful for! Hugs to those who are going through a bad time and need them. :grouphug:

My totals for Nov were good (albeit due to some serious GAs but still...) They totted up to 20 IN, 31 UU/GA. So far for Dec I've no IN (no mean feat as offer emails pour into my inbox constantly) I'm trying to save myself for gifts/sales in which I will likely very much make up for my current frugal ways!!

Project Pan wise, I only failed on one from Nov which I knew would be the toughest - S&G Righteous Butter, no excuse I just didn't use it as often as I should've done, will definitely get shut of this this month - only about an eighth of the tub left now. Since the beginning of the challenge I've gone through several of these, both full sized and mini - I WNBA and if I'm ever gifted it it will be re-gifted, I don't hate it but I don't like it either! I'm done!! :D

Have a few items in mind for this month's PP and I've a few UU also which I'll declare when I update my stash list later on, see what else I can target on there too.

Fab pics Kadison that Lancome set looks lovely!

Present wrapping tonight, the tree is decorated and lit and I have a Yankee Merry Marshmallow burning, cosy! :xmastree:

I 1000000% agree! The real techniques ones are the best ever, they're so soft and easy to clean, quick to dry....well worth the extra money.

For cleaning, use No7 cleansing water which is excellent on these brushes, do NOT get the brush cleaner as for some reason it is no good with real techniques brushes and leaves horrid residue, hth.

  • A UU to report Umberto Giannini Glamour hair spray, smells nice for hair spray but had this on the go for years, doubt they sell it anymore.
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • Wow, just want to say that this thread is so inspiring. I'm a definite product junkie over here, so I will try to update with a list of my own!
Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough. ♥
  • A few UUs to report -

    6. Lush Celebrate body lotion 45g. WBA, definitely. I loved this and it was amazingly rich!
    7. Disney Blushing Orange shower gel 37ml - Would nick again, lovely scent :)
    8. Lush Pumkin bubble bar - can't buy again, but will buy Dorothy bubble bar (same HG scent)
    9. Lush Lustre Dust - GA to a friend, hate the smell and don't want to be sparkly gold!

And a couple of INs from my Secret Santa:
    1. Rockstar soap (maybe 30g?)
    2. Figs and Leaves soap (maybe 60g?)
So cute, my Santa went into Lush and asked them what I liked best, then made a little mosaic heart out of the soap and laid it all out in a beautiful box!

Can't be bothered to update my sig as on my phone, but stash total is now 79! Smashed my target, now aiming for 70 at Christmas - 9 items in 17 days... And I'm mostly on full-sized stuff now!

    Hi

    New to this thread

I hardly buy toiletries as I tend to buy in bulk in sales or save up freebies from magazines or freebie sites.

I have been selected to trial deodorants and toiletries in my time, so use money off coupons or their freebies as well

When I do buy make up, I get given samples or buy when they give away gift sets.

It started when I travelled a lot and needed everything in small sizes.

When staying in hotels, I take all the toiletries they leave to take home with me.

Over the years I have accumulated quite a few bottles.

I have decanted small body lotions into a big empty pump bottle to make a hybrid body lotion at home.

I decant excess bath foams and shampoos to make a hybrid hand washing and shampoo blends, again in empty pump bottles.

Conditioners that may not be so good for the hair are good for shaving lotions. I haven't bought shaving foam for years and my legs are really soft.

Mediocre perfumes that aren't too bad but not my taste to wear get used to spray in the loo.

Every so often, I look at my make up and work out whether I need anything. If there are colours I don't use, I give them to my mum or daughter as they like the colours I don't.

  • Morning ladies!
I've put together a PP list to focus on now that my stash is mostly full-size and I won't have so many unexpected UUs… So I may just be able to finish these up in the next 17 days...

    1. Lush Chou Chou Toothy Tabs - I hate using these, luckily there's only about 10 left.
    2. Lush Dirty shower gel 250ml - about half left. Love it, but happy to move on.
    3. NSpa Peach body butter 200ml - like it, but plenty of body butter still!
    4. Hey Soapy Soapy Mint and Menthol soap - put in bathroom by sink, about half left.
    5. Lush Christmas Eve bubble bar
    6. Lush Floating Island bath melt - both of these bought to be used tonight and tomorrow night!
    7. Aussie Miracle Moist 250ml - this bottle seems never ending but I like it.
    8. Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer 50ml - this one is a bit optimistic, but I can see the bottom of the pot!
    9. The Body Shop Wild Rose hand cream 30ml - this is nearly full so I doubt I'll manage it, but I'd like to, since I have another in the stash.

Another IN, I had a BS voucher from Glamour magazine, so got a mini body lotion. Didn't want to add any extra money to it as I am swimming in BS stuff at home :o
Work meeting went as well as could be expected. Have to go back this week for final meeting. Not getting a package or anything extra, just the statutory :( At least I don't actually need to work the notice, so will save money on commuting and also the extra expense of lunches and buying non urgent INs. Trying to be positive it should do my no buying toiletries pledge and also my purse no end of good :o
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time
