Anything you buy says something about you.

So, you want to back pedal?

Exactly what does the iphone say about a person?

With an iphone you are paying for a brand name not extra functions or quality.

Personally I think owning an iphone says a lot about a person...

Because, as I've said numourous times, I like the interface of it, I've seen loads of other smartphones and I just don't like the way they handle (for want of a better phrase!), besides, I've had this phone for about two years now, and am now moving off my contract to a £11 a month option, suits me, I get to keep the phone and haven't got one iota of interest in upgrading to the latest all signing all dancing phone. To be honest, I don't care that it says Apple on the back....for all I'm bothered it could say Bannana. :rotfl:

What phone do you have Carl?

I have a Samsung galaxy note. First one.

I didn't say what an iphone says about people. I just said they say something.

Interesting so many people jumping to conclusions and feeling the need to defend themselves when no "accusation" was even mentioned.

Based on this thread, and assuming that those who quoted my post own iphones, then perhaps I can conclude iphone owners have a complex?

My BIL (iphone owner) thinks they're fab but not value for money. I think Apple Macs are fab for complex graphic design and similar applications.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

It seems that you have short term memory loss, because yes you did say that....

Post no:52 by Tiddlywinks highlights this fact....I rest my case!

I've got (and recommend) the Samsung S4.

Free with contract at Tesco mobile. Well worth investigating...

I have to say I'm always puzzled when friends/acquaintances post on their profile that they got the latest I phones. Never get that with other smart phones. My husband got an iPhone when I got the Samsung S. He spent the first months going on about how great his phone was until he got used to mine and admitted mine was better in many ways. I recently renewed my contact and got a Note 3 on the sane contact £22 a month unlimited internet. I feel I get a lot more out of it than I would with the latest iPhone at a much better deal. I didn't post on Facebook to let my friends know of my new purchase! I have also noticed that all mobile phones used in films or adverts used to be iPhones they are now more likely to be Samsungs.

All this thread has shown is how personal phone choices are and how protective some people are when it comes to phones.

So to the OP, I'd forget about buying a phone as a gift!

For what it's worth I own a Sony Xperia T - got it the day it came out, pure coincidence happened to be when my contract renewed.

Wife has owned Samsungs and iphones but now owns the Sony Xperia X1, which is a beast of a phone.

As an aside, Iphones don't have expandable memory or play anything other than MP4 video, which would always be a deal breaker for me.

  • Would recommend you to go for Google Nexus. Almost all apps are supportive and managed in the segment.
