But when you are somewhere where there's free wifi (like your home, or mcdonalds or the train or most pubs etc,) switch your wifi off, and it will us theirs and not yours. :)

    Only in First Class, generally.

Not taken in by any hype, just know what I like. The iPhone has been great for me, regarding ease of use, interface etc.

Wasn't saying iPhone was any better than any other phone, so why all the negativity towards it?

Me too, I love my iPhone. Don't rush out and buy it as soon as it's released, not taken in by hype, just prefer it to other smartphones I've tried.

These responses show just how tastes do differ.

I agree with another poster that you shouldn't choose a phone for your OH as he may be disappointed by your choice.

Can't you give him an IOU in a lovely card and then go with him to the shop on boxing day? Or ask his opinion beforehand?

As to the anti-Apple brigade... your, opinion, your choice but no need to be quite so scathing of other posters just because they choose to be different to you... it is simply a matter of horses for courses.

Same here, mine is still the iPhone 4, I'm not really that interested in getting the newer ones as long as this one is still working.

I'm samsung, apple just feels clunky to me. Plus from anecdotal evidence of friends, they're easier to break and I'm clumsy. Some people prefer Nokias, or HTC (though, don't know anyone with an HTC that's not had major, repeated software issues that you have to keep sending them back).

Not anti-apple though. I agree you'd have to talk to him, it's too varied an area. Each to their own.

I'd go moto g or nexus 4/5. Good thing about nexus is the phone will be the first to get the latest updates.

Don't think you'll get better bang for buck than a nexus not seen the 5 but the 4 is a fantastic phone.

You can buy it for about £100 to £149.

However, on contract the phone (handset) is free, and it's £14.99 a month (for a 18 month contract,) for unlimited texts, 100 minutes talk time and (I think) 4GB of data.

But when you are somewhere where there's free wifi (like your home, or mcdonalds or the train or most pubs etc,) switch your wifi off, and it will us theirs and not yours. :)

Depends if you want a pay-as-you-go or a contract phone. Best go into the O2 shop or EE or phones 4 U or somewhere similar, and ask for the best deal.

If you switch your WiFi off, you won't be using anyone's internet connection, maybe your mobile data instead which you will be charged for

With an iphone you are paying for a brand name not extra functions or quality.

Personally I think owning an iphone says a lot about a person...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
