I imagine I will stick with them just because I know it and have a MBP too. I do really like the Sony though. He had the Samsung S2 and I know people with the S3 and S4 and not one of them gives that good feedback at all. I feel Samsung have really taken a nosedive in the last five years
I've just got an Xperia Z and I love the big screen which I didn't think I would. Really handy if you're crushed on the tube with no room for a book as the screen is excellent for reading from the Amazon app0 -
I love my iphone because it works for me. I really don't have an opinion on what anyone else owns any more than I care what car or tv they own. People buy what they like surely and anyone who judges someone based on an object is rather shallow.:A

Ever head of the term 'using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut'?
In pink shoes defence, if all you want to do is a few basic phone things, why pay for the most expensive piece of kit on the market?
You can get a smartphone for around £10 a month that does everything you list? Also, why pay a premium for a highly technical piece of kit, when you have no interest in the technical side? Part of the expense in phones these days is the technology, they're more powerful than computers were a decade ago
Obviously its up to you what you spend your money on, but punk shoes point is people tend to buy things like iphones with no interest in its functionality or what it has to offer, and pay over the odds for it. Why?0 -

With an iphone you are paying for a brand name not extra functions or quality.
Personally I think owning an iphone says a lot about a person...

You must be better at reading minds than the rest of us...
All I got from her message was:
'I judge people based on objects they own and my opinion is worth more than theirs'.
In summary, prejudiced and arrogant.:hello:0 -

Theres a sentance before your highlighted one. A valid point do you not think? Considering the Op is asking for advice on what to buy? Especially on a website dedicated to saving money and value?0 -

Actually, I don't think it's a valid point.
It's like any purchase... it all depends on the user requirements... and the OP has not given enough information for anyone to truly give an appropriate recommendation.
YET several of you have jumped in with the 'Apple are overpriced and not worth it'... WITHOUT knowing the criteria.
I bought a car with extras - I didn't *need* them but I wanted them and it's my money to spend as I see fit.
Same with my phone - it is up to me to decide if something is suitable for ME... I don't give a stuff about what others will think when they see me using it.
My requirements - my choice - my phone.:hello:0 -
do you notice how defensive iphone , apple users get , i suppose anyone who's prepared to camp out for days just to get their hands on a lump of over priced , over hyped plastic and metal must be one sandwich short of a picnic;)0

Um, who here has camped out for days? I upgrade my phone when my contract ends like everyone else here I imagine, not a day before, no matter what new release there is. I wouldn't dream of camping out or queuing for hours for anything.:A

I never intended to get an iPhone but back in August I was text a one-day-only special offer (from 3) for an iPhone 5 (free) with unlimited Internet for £28 a month, which seemed such a great offer I decided to bite the bullet. I absolutely love it now, despite the huge culture shock of the short battery life compared with what I was used to with various Nokias over the years.
Never thought having one would be "saying something about me" though :rotfl:. Perhaps it says I'm a sucker for a bargain?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
