    I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.
Hope all are well and that those who are suffering (potters and potters family members) are feeling better.

    Potted 1 x £2, 6 x £1 and 1 x 20p coins = £8.20 potted.

With a little luck, I'll get the missing few £1's tomorrow to hit that £500 mark.

Some great offers on in the supermarkets at the moment (especially veg) and long may it last. Frugal shopping = more £1's to pot.

    Evening

Thank you Sue, I have improved even more on the running since last Saturday. Tonight I ran 2 x 8 mins, 1 x 10 mins and 1 x 6 mins with 3 x2 mins walking between the 4 runs :D

    £4.85 potted today.

What is walk the walk rosyq?

One more day at work until the long weekend :)

Well done with the running :D

Walk the Walk is a charity that supports breast cancer research. They also raise awareness, and support healthy living, and advocate walking for fitness. They do a 'Moonwalk' every May in London where 15,000 people, mostly women, walk a nighttime marathon through London in decorated bras :D I did it in 2011.
They've branched out in recent years with lots more events - I'm walking a marathon this June for them in Iceland! I'm so lucky that I've had help funding the costs so I'm able to concentrate on training and fund raising. It'll start at midnight but the sun will be out, and we'll be wearing our bras with pride, and hoping it's not too cold!

Great news about your George, jakes-mum!! Re the continued dislike of fingers, I wonder if they see them as a separate extension to us. Ours can't stand mine after 14 years (Cockateil...not a Budgie).

Brilliant car savings that's now potted, Ruth, amazing!!!!!

Sue / Jakes-mum - Birds are mostly scared of hands as the first bit of human contact we have with them is when they are removed from their nests as babies. Birds that are removed very early and hand fed correctly lean to like hands easier. He will get there. Lovebirds are stubborn though but just think how far you've already come with him. It's all about trust, confidence and time.

Sue, it is a great saving on my car and i'm so pleased i have been able to stay with the same insurer a third year.

Ahhh, I thought I recognised the name. I did the London moonwalk a few years ago  it rained all night :(. Such a good cause though xx. My niece decorated our bras with loads of silk flowers and put a bead in each flower. It was so cold we had to keep them under wraps though.

    Potted £3.10 today.

The weekend has finally arrived for me. This week has taken so long to pass by!!

Ahh tis true, he's really doing well considering we've only had him about 7 months :) He is quite happy to step up onto my finger from his perch in the hallway (his safe place according to the numerous bird training blogs ive read :o) he doesn't like hands coming toward him anywhere else, in particular his cage which I think he might be a bit territorial of (note to self, must re-arrange his toys more frequently). But he really is a funny little thing, he sat today for about 45 minutes just chuntering on to himself, then ran round the roof of the cage and cuddled up to his punch bag and fell asleep :rotfl: Think he knackered himself out :rotfl: We also saw a marked improvement when we started putting him to bed earlier rather than at 10 - 11ish when we go up. Very helpful trainer blog said 'treat him like your toddler, they need just as much sleep, and should be in bed nice and early every night' so into bed he goes at about 8pm :)

Money in the pot today :D 2 x £2 coins from the lovely ladies at the post office, pots getting nice and heavy! soooooo looking forward to the day I need a new pot :D

  • Sue, sorry to hear you've been poorly :( I hope you feel so much better now and thank you for my shiny new star :j (I will be with you soon too :) )

Gosh this thread is moving so fast that it's hard to keep up! I've had no internet access for a few days so have had to try to catch up so I don't miss any news :D A big welcome to freebird. You will love it on this friendly thread. And thank you sparky for the lovely story, it was very moving....

Hardly any potting going on at the mo but I hope to change that as soon as Easter is out of the way (too much spending on birthdays, Easter gifts, GC holidays etc ) Our printer also jammed and refused to budge so we had to splash out on a new one today. It seems that the ink these days costs as much as the actual printer

Hope to be back on track very soon as I need to keep up the momentum.......

    Happy potting folks!

Hi :Hello: to new people and everyone

Had a bit of a bad week. DH has lost his job as the company using his agency had terminated their contract. This also means that he hasn't got his driver cpc finished as they were doing it next month and so he can't find another job at the mo :

So it is tight reins on all spending and saving until things improve.

I'll still be on to keep in touch.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter :easter:
