  • evening all,

I hope everyone is on the mend...its particularly awful when kiddly winks are poorly during the school holidays when they should be out there without a care in the world bless them.

I feel rather excited today...I think it has just hit me that in two weeks time i will be a discharged bankrupt than just a bankrupt. The last few years have been very hard and now I see light at the end of the tunnel!! It has taken almost a year to change my spending habits and I still think I can learn more! I will also have a bit more spare cash next month so I will be able to put back the £27 I had to take from it in the New Year which left me devastated (that may be a slight exaggeration but i was pretty upset).

I have also been to certain card shop today, eyeing up my next tin i really am going to have to get the skewer out again and see what the progress is!!

I have potted £1.64 today it now weighs in at 4lb and 0.5oz!! I finally got round to counting the copper i found and I have £8.00 so that will be a trip to the bank to get it changed into something larger for my pot!!

Right I shall leave you lovely people to have a good weekend

    Dee x

£4.50 in change from a night out last night has now gone in to my pot :D
  • Hi all, managed to pot over £20 this week made up of lunch money and change, had to shake, shimmy and practically dance with my tin to move the notes away from ' tweezer danger '. Busy changing car insurance suppliers last years providers were double what new quotes are so hopefully that will save us some pennies. Hugs to all xxx.

How do you know if someone has stopped saving?
I keep potting and reading this thread, just don't like posting much..

Don't worry, blue_mango, you won't be thrown off just because you can't post very often. I think Sue found that we had over 2000 members and less than half were declaring their totals in November and had obviously lost interest in the challenge. It was sensible to re-do the list and issue new numbers to the peeps who were still reading/posting & declaring :) otherwise it held up the Grand Total and we were all on tenterhooks waiting :D Stay with us, you are a valued member :T
Very well done, sort_me_own you have done amazingly well. I applaud you for getting to grips with your situation :T
Sorry, but nothing to pot today so I'm a bit off topic but I'm grounded today (the eejits have left me in charge :rotfl:) and I'm BORED

Enjoy this lovely bit of sun everyone x

    Hello!

Please can I join? I don't have a target and I'm not expecting to pot much but I'd love to have a go!

My plan is to withdraw £30 cash a week (my grocery budget) and pot the leftovers. Plus I got out my Golden Syrup savings tin and found 5p in it so I've already got a starter!

    Thank you in advance :o
  • Of course you can and welcome! Please read post #1 so that you know what we are all about and our dear Sue-uu will be along anytime soon to give you your own member number to polish :D

You have already made a start with a tin and a 5p coin but I would sellotape it tightly shut if I were you to eliminate temptation :A Do enjoy reading and posting replies but most of all enjoy saving with us :T

35p potted this morning. Went for a run and needed a drink, so popped into the garage on the way. It was cheaper to get a small bottle of milk than it was water.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Afternoon all.

fishfins - welcome and good luck with your "potting".

sort_me_own_yard_out - best wishes. I sadly don't understand it all, but take it you are getting back on track. Hope that light shines very brightly after those hard years.

I potted 8 x £1 coins (change from lottery as no fivers) and a single £2 coin = £10 potted.
So another good week and I think 2 x £30+ weeks in a row.
The next few weeks will not be good, but if I can achieve a single £30+ week in March, I'll be happy.

    Have a great weekend all.
