Found 12p in coppers in the kitchen, there was no-one around to ask whp they belonged to so I felt it was only right to rehome them in the pot :D I didnt want them to get lost now did I? so now everyone will know exactly where they are :D:D

Also £1 from a FB sale :j love sale money, always feels like its free for some reason :o

ModestyB - I have all the 1 colour £2 coins that were released and tbh I cant bring myself to look up what they are worth as I think alot of people kept them with the hope they would be worth something.

On a side note you have just made me realise that when I was rummaging through everything trying to find the proof of purchase for my GHD's (which have stopped working and what a surprise cannot be proven to be in warranty from the hologram on the side ) I didnt see my white £5 note . . . wonder where ive put that

Bellevie - Oh no! did you charge large letter price and it went as a packet or was it small packet price and it went as a medium packet. If the latter, always check couriers instead as they are much cheaper than royal mail and will pick up from your work/home address. I use Myhermes as I find them cheapest, I know some people have had issues but ive only ever had 1 parcel go missing and they refunded me the postage and cost of item without any issues (though a long wait time for it to be processed).

Awesome, well done. £9.19p in road kill? I don't think I've ever managed £1 in my lifetime... is that a monthly check in? Well done either way :)

I'm waiting to start filling my 2nd money tin.... This one is a biggy though :) Just gotta sort out monies with the mother in law first and then clink, clink, clink :)

  • Modesty you just reminded me that I have some commemorative coins tucked away somewhere but I didn't realise I could bank them. If so I might as well do that even if they are only face value 'cos there must be millions of them out there :(

Just 50p potted today, folks, but not spending much either...

I took some items to the local auction house this morning to see if I could make some cash for our next holiday but they would only take one item, they didn't want my commemorative crystal goblets at all :(:( Need to have a re-think about those...

Sold an item on fleabay this afternoon, but I won't get too excited :j it sold for 99p :o

Hope you and T are well Sue-uu. What's happened to sparky? Or have I just missed his posts somewhere...

BTW bad luck on the postage Bellevie I've done that myself on occasions and it makes me so cross with myself  and paranoid about weighing and measuring & finding boxes to suit!

    Welcome to any new potters!

Hi Nellie, at nearly 50p a day that's a good total for the year. ... I need to open my eyes more. I used to walk 7 miles every day and hoping to get back to it.... just found my motivation..... :)

Hicks, you've made a really great start with saving, good for you. Re Nellie's roadkill, she wears magnets on her shoes and scuffs through all the muck and rubbish she can find - true! ;)

At a girl, Helen...now keep motivated and keep saving. :j

Braddy, you're heading for dizzy heights re saving, keep within a budget and you'll save well...and not waste it. :D

Oooooh, a lovely job, Sam, paying just £5 to have a haircut, wash, restyle, blow dry is fantastic!! :happyloveOur eldest's Birthday yesterday, it went off wonderfully, the younger one next month.

All that about the coins you have was interesting, Modesty, though not the difference in value that you'd expect. I've never even heard of a fifteen shilling coin, but from 1953 too surely it has to be to do with the Coronation. Like you, we bought the Charles & Diana ones for our youngsters too...and worth so little now - I wonder if it would have been different had they stayed together.

    Well done, WishICouldFindMySlippers.

Let's hope it stays dry for at least today, Lynsey, I'm a bit fed up with the wet, but we get no choice in the matter! Ah..just remembered with the wind howling that we're due for yet another pounding.

Not to worry, bellevie, as you're right with your thoughts - at least it's better than nowt! ;) Be sure to see jakes-mum's advice re postage for the future.

A white £5er, jakes-mum??! Not an albino is it!

How are things going, Saver?? Well, I hope..just keep remembering that pledge! :A

Good Heavens above, Nellie ...where d'you live...we're all coming over to collect roadkill with you!! :rotfl: No wonder you're so chuffed! Yes, that'll be ok re the vouchers and credits.

    Good for you, Indie Kid!
Hope you and T are well Sue-uu. What's happened to sparky? Or have I just missed his posts somewhere...

Hi little_sweetie, I've no idea where sparks is to, I wrote to him yesterday about the NEW Grand Target that we have - and that not one single person has noticed in my post from yesterday. :( How about antique type shops for the commemorative crystal goblets, so will give next to nothing, but then another can make you smile and your heart skip a bit. Give them a try. T & I are doing fine thanks, except for this flamin knee! >: I
Keep up the amazing saving, SPCers, you're all doing wonderfully well!! :D

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. :D Please change numbers ASAP folks.

    Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. There may be a lot of us, but don't be shy, we're a lovely lot, so come on in. :grinheart
