Little-sweetie, I do remember someone telling me once when discussing white fivers that his dad, when renovating an old house, found a box under the floor boards full of them all in pristine condition, he cashed them in at the bank   I was like DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE WORTH!! :rotfl: it was at a time when they had stopped using them but before everyone knew how collectable they were but even now I go  everytime I think about itI also had an aunt who chopped up an antique table for firewood that turned out to be worth about £1600

AlwaysHappy wrote: »Went out last night with friends and had budgeted £20. Chose carefully, drank soft drinks and then one of them (there were 3 of us) went and paid. Tried to insist on her taking the cash - we both did, she refused point blank and said it would be my time next time. Have potted the money (which I will probably regret at the next "night out") but am really annoyed as well with the situation. They both knock back the drinks and tbh I found the evening boring and I was glad to get home to my dh. If it hadn't been for the financial turn of events which has made me feel I need to stand my round I would be finding ways to get out of going. I don't want to be mean though - the other girl made a comment that we would be going for a bag of chips when it was my turn which isn't the case, but nor do I really want to spend £80!!!! Dilemma's eh...... sorry for the rant. I should be pleased I've potted £20!!!
We had similar problem with a relation out for meals I don't drink DH only has a couple it used to cost us nearly £40 extra every time unfortunately or fortunately they fell out with us did suggest to DH( his relations) that he rang them his answer why? we are saving nearly £100 a month xJakes-mum

Flipping heck, jakes-mum, wouldn't you like that box of white fivers now! And the thought of that poor table being chopped up sends shivers down my spine  Just like you I like to sell or donate everything I don't want/need, nothing gets thrown away or burned  When we downsized I sold or gave away all the 'too big' furniture. My lovely dining table, six chairs and a cabinet was sold to a lovely young chap setting up his first home with his girlfriend, for £20. The joy on his face was priceless when I asked if he would like the cabinet thrown in for free
Just popped in to say 44p potted from my purse.

Oh Little sweetie! wouldnt I just! id be minted :rotfl: It was my dad who told me about my great aunt, she was in her 80's bless her and still had the old fireplace in her house, I dont think she had central heating tbh. One of the family saw the table on one of those antiques roadshow type programmes on tv and went rushing round her house as they knew she had one in her shed, when he got there he found she had been chopping it up bit by bit to put on the fire
no-one ever had the heart to tell her what it was worth. I suppose the only way to look at it is that at least the old dear was warm that winter

Hello everyone :hello:
Just seen the amazing total from the previous challenge. What an incredible amount! :T:T We need to try and beat that this year. No pressure.
So, to help us along I've very noblypotted £1.20 as I had a NSD yesterday. Keeping some money back as I need to post an Amazon parcel to a buyer, so I'll be potting more later. :j
