Hi
£1.60 potted today, this was all I had left after hairdresser, shopping and taking out money needed for the rest of the week! I can't bear to put money in then need it and have to go to cashpoint! Therefore I'm ultra careful what I put in!
Well done to everyone else, the pots are slowly building up!0 -
I've potted £1 in my emergency tin to get that started and 47p in my piggy bank.
I think there will be more to pot but my purse is downstairs and i'm feeling too rubbish to get it.FebNSD:1/14 (TotalNSDs:12NSDs|SPC#054 £0.52(£6.00 banked)|RR#90Jan£0.07(Total:£0.07)|ES:£1.00/£50.00|£6.00/£359.00SavingsRepayment0 -
A £1 potted for me today. Its satisfying being able to do little and often, trying not to think about D day, not sure I'll want to spoil my tin by opening it!!I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

"Oh ToniLiz, that really is awful, especially after he's worked so hard for it. What are the plans now? How about doing it through "Just Giving"? "
Thanks for this Sue, Lynsey and Crimson for your kind words. He is using "Just Giving" too, it was just this was another way of trying to get some extra donations. He has another pot going now - which is chained to the desk this time so hopefully it aint going nowhere this time...! Need to do car boot sales too when the weather gets better. Potting any available hubby rummage shrapnel too :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge - No: 223

I haven't really thought about potting over the last week to be honest but managed to pot a £2 coin just now. Must try to stay on track. Sounds like everyone else's pots are growing steadily.

Yes, Indie Kid, the change over is fine, the No also.
All the best with radiotherapy, Nell, I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you and wishing you well. Hope you're having a lovely weekend with your friend.Lynsey wrote:Sue - I used to pot 5p's and copper etc a few years ago, but hated counting them all and getting the exact amount to "weigh in".
Ah, I see what you mean, Lynsey, quite understand the reasoning too.Though it seems as though you'll be finding em left right and centre here on! :rotfl:Saver88 wrote:Thanks SUE for your kind words. Unfortunately hit a road bump last night, sooo dissapointed with myself but I'm gonna brush myself off and start again. I WILL do it no matter how long it takes.
Very bad luck, Saver, but off you go again and keep right on til you get there...and you will!!Beware of your you know who and NEVER let old Nic win!
The word virtuous and claireyfairy never ought to be in the same sentence....did they???! Nah, never!braddy970 wrote:Hi guys I was wondering if anyone uses the envelope technique ? I've been working out wages over the next couple of weeks etc and this is what I have come up with.
Next weeks wages : £136.38 left over after bills, fuel and food etc
Week 2 : £140.62
Week 3 : £132.45
And week 4 : £111.99
This £521.44 that will be left but I'm not sure where it goes?? Does anyone have any suggestions ? I've seen people using the envlopes where you put £100 in a week then what is left over you save/keep, not sure how my bf would think about this but I would love to try.
£3 potted on Friday bringing my total to £130 x
I don't need to use the envelope technique so much now, braddy, but I well understand what you mean. However, the answer to your question is one that really only you can decide. Having said that, do you have any cards that you would benefit if you paid some or all on it/them? If not then how about putting all or the majority into an ISA or into the B Society? Think about it before being too hasty, but keeping some aside for the proverbial 'rainy day' is never a bad idea. Of course, you're most welcome to pop it in a (very secure) 'holding pot' (see 1st post of page 1 for details) then bank it and pop the what's banked on your signature so you include it in your Total SPC savings in November. Do let us know what you decide, it'll be of interest to others in the same situation.
By the way, braddy, here's a gold star for you for the great advice to Nell, brilliant!! :staradmin I hope your Father's very much better now, or that he will be soon.
Nell, please be sure to see braddy's post for great advice for you.
Not to worry, Delilahh, you're not on your own, if that helps.
Keep thinking POT, Madrabbitgirl! It's a must!!
Just a short one (as the actress said to the Bishop ) for today, potters, but you're ALL doing so well with the saving. Keep it going and you'll be so VERY PROUD in November!! :jHave a lovely weekend, folks.
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.

50p potted today. Not a lot but just what I had in change today. Don't want to go too overboard first day of the month just in case.
However have started a second pot as I get £18 in coins out at the beginning of each month to pay for DS school dinners, but some months we only have 4 weeks in the month and some months there are holidays so doesn't always cost me this. In the past I just dunked any money left over into my purse and it got frittered away. However I have decided to set up a second pot and any left over dinner money at the end of the month or if there is no school eg July then I will bank it in that pot.0 -
Just thought I'd say I've started looking for a bit more roadkill these days, though I rarely find any!
But today I was out at the supermarket, must be the weather and people rushing out of the rain...... but took my trolley back and noticed the one infront wasn't plugged in as all the others had no plug. Seen the pound and took the trolly round the other side.
So a nice £1 find today, and conveniently an '83, going into the pot along with a penny I found at work yesterday!
Going to keep a track of my roadkill for the end of the year!
Anyone else had much luck with supermarket trolleys??Loan - £4668.56
