I don't need to use the envelope technique so much now, braddy, but I well understand what you mean. However, the answer to your question is one that really only you can decide. Having said that, do you have any cards that you would benefit if you paid some or all on it/them? If not then how about putting all or the majority into an ISA or into the B Society? Think about it before being too hasty, but keeping some aside for the proverbial 'rainy day' is never a bad idea. Of course, you're most welcome to pop it in a (very secure) 'holding pot' (see 1st post of page 1 for details) then bank it and pop the what's banked on your signature so you include it in your Total SPC savings in November. Do let us know what you decide, it'll be of interest to others in the same situation.
By the way, braddy, here's a gold star for you for the great advice to Nell, brilliant!! I hope your Father's very much better now, or that he will be soon.
Thank you very much Sue, I will see what seems best on Tuesday after payday. I might instantly send half of the availble spends to either emergency fund pot or withdraw it, so many options I cant choose but I will deffo put it to good use and not waste it. £500 would be brilliant at this time of the year x Thank you for my star yes my dad is all better now, he still can't eat certain foods because he also had an operation and had alot of this tissue in his neck and glands removed so he can't swallow anything hard but he is 100% clear so this is the main thing xxThe 1% Challenge #76 - Debt 1 = £620 - 1% = £6.20 - 4.3%

Still haven't bothered to empty my purse
so no pennies in the pot
Dd had her party today and it was fab, had a few fall downs but very few tears, still had about 10 parents who never replied to the invitea simple no would have been appreciated as I had to buy and make extra party bags for them just incase they just showed up!
Anyway, that's my party throwing finished for another year as ds just wants to go bowling or cinema with his mates now, on his own, you know . . . no embarrassing mum type people with himas we all know 13 year olds don't have mums, they are orphans until at least the age of 17

Afternoon
I potted £2 yesterday.
I have £1.02 in my pocket but I won't count it because it came from last years potting money which is still in a biscuit tin under my bed. It will go back in the biscuit tin at the end of the day. I took it out because I only needed some postage bags and Ribera from the 99p shop and couldn't be bothered to go to the cashpoint.

Maisie_M wrote:However have started a second pot as I get £18 in coins out at the beginning of each month to pay for DS school dinners, but some months we only have 4 weeks in the month and some months there are holidays so doesn't always cost me this. In the past I just dunked any money left over into my purse and it got frittered away. However I have decided to set up a second pot and any left over dinner money at the end of the month or if there is no school e.g. July then I will bank it in that pot.
Very wise, Maisie, forward thinking and planning is a great way to save. It just goes to show how we can train ourselves, when there's a need/wish to really get money behind us.
Taking advantage of the wet weather paid of in a big way, Determined_83.
Wonderful to hear the weightiness of your pots, queendiorable, you sound excited now, but just wait until about September onwards!! :jbraddy970 wrote:Thank you very much Sue, I will see what seems best on Tuesday after payday. Good to hear, braddy. I'm so pleased to hear the news about your Dad, I guess the swallowing is a small price to pay in exchange for getting your life and health back, marvellous! Sorry to say it, but I'm with your lads as I love Cat fish especially when they zoom up to the top for air then whiz back down, superb! Yes, I forgot to actually put the gold star on last night (well, I did but a lot later), here it is. :staradmin
You're doing really well, LeopardPrintsAndTea.
I'm so pleased it all went well for Lily, but oh..aren't some folk downright rude!! Manners cost nothing at all, but mean a great deal I see young Jake's growing up so normal then.ladsmadd wrote:1st of the month and remembered to check in for this month [have put in phone now so hoping to log in at least once a month sue-uu
That's just excellent, ladsmadd, I'm really pleased as it's always lovely to see 'old timers'.Well done with the taxi.
Good saving, blubella, keep plugging away at it......
...you also, Pickle, though I'd sooner you stick to cash rather than bones any day.
You are honest, 32b3, well done with yesterday's £2 though.Have a lovely afternoon and evening, all.
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
